Borderlands 4: Dave the Burrito — how to unlock Guac is Extra
Borderlands 4Destroy 15 hidden burritos across Dominion City, then slip into Upper Dominion to meet Dave and pop the trophy.

Borderlands 4 hides one of its strangest rewards behind a citywide scavenger hunt. To unlock the Guac is Extra trophy/achievement, you need to find and destroy 15 miniature burritos scattered around Dominion City. Clear all three districts (five burritos each), and a secret door opens in Upper Dominion where “Dave the Burrito” spins in gold and the unlock triggers as you approach.
Guac is Extra trophy requirements
- Destroy 15 hidden burritos in Dominion City.

- There are five burritos in each of the three districts: Carcadia, Terminus, and the Fades.
- After all 15 are destroyed, a door opens in Upper Dominion; approaching the golden burrito inside unlocks the trophy/achievement.

Where to find the 15 burritos (district overview)
You’re looking for small burrito props tucked into shops, markets, rooftops, camps, and maintenance nooks. They only count once you shoot them. While exact routes vary by player, the landmarks below match commonly referenced placements across the city.
Map area or district | Landmark | Placement details |
---|---|---|
Terminus (Food Court safehouse) | “Whimsy Willies” neon food shop | Climb the yellow ledge above the fast travel pad; on the right-hand counter inside the shop. |
Dominion City market | Stall with a green light, two NPCs arguing | Hidden behind the stall; walk around the left side to reveal it. |
Southern “H”-shaped block | Tempered Manufactorium, outdoor laundromat “24h Get the Funk Out” | Next to a washing machine in the open-air laundry area. |
Frantic Scrawl | Left staircase into a tunnel | Food stall in the tunnel; on the top shelf of the stall. |
Market near three square pools | Mr Cucur Bills produce stall | Under the right-hand stack of pumpkins at the stall. |
Interior corridor cluster | Room with six lockers and a stairwell exit | Makeshift cubicle; sitting on top of the toilet. |
Fades (Zadra’s Lab side) | Platform by the district wall | Under the staircase leading to a small platform near a Vault Hunter’s Guide collectible; on top of nearby crates. |
Fades (north) | Ripper camp in the swamp | Corpse hanging at the entrance; burrito in the corpse’s left hand. |
Fades (near central tower wall) | Makeshift storage shacks/homes | By an echo log; beside a crate, under a wooden pallet, to the right of a parasol. |
Fades (south of safehouse) | Planter and shrubs beside a tree | Near another echo log; tucked into the greenery by the concrete planter. |
Fades (east, rooftop pool) | Rooftop with outdoor pool and boombox | Boombox sits on a pallet; the burrito is hidden directly behind it. |
Open the Dave the Burrito door (Upper Dominion)
Once all 15 burritos are destroyed, head to Upper Dominion. The door to Dave’s chamber is tied to the northern Vault Symbol collectible that sits behind a small waterfall. Glide into the waterfall area, then take the newly opened pathway opposite that Vault Symbol to reach a golden, spinning burrito.

- The trophy/achievement unlocks by proximity when you reach Dave.
- The chamber includes six loot containers: two red chests and four white chests.
Quick checklist if the trophy hasn’t popped
- Confirm all 15 burritos were shot (not just spotted). If one didn’t register, revisit the district and sweep the landmarks above.
- Make sure the Fades district is unlocked via the story; those five burritos are required for the door to open.
- Approach the golden burrito in Upper Dominion; the unlock triggers when you’re in the room with Dave.
After the unlock, you’re free to clear out the chests and move on. If you’re completion-focused, use the same district-by-district approach here for other Dominion City collectibles like Vault Symbols; the burrito hunt doubles as a reliable way to learn the city’s back alleys and rooftops.
