Borderlands 4 — Investigate the City Wall (Falling Wall guide)
Borderlands 4Follow this precise route into Dominion City, then capture The Lockaway safehouse to complete the objective.

The Falling Wall is a mid‑game main mission that asks you to “Investigate the city wall” without providing a direct navigation path. The entry into Dominion City is fixed and a bit hidden; the walkthrough below takes you straight to the breach and through the required safehouse steps to advance the quest.
Mission context and requirements (The Falling Wall)
The Falling Wall is the 17th main mission. It becomes available after completing Another Day, Another Universe, and starts from Kairos → Carcadia Burn → Tonnage Peel with Lilith as the quest giver. The mission is tuned for roughly level 25 and rewards XP, money, a rare pistol, plus Red Right Hand cosmetic items.
Investigate the City Wall (route into Dominion City)
Step 1: Travel to the Lopside sub‑region in Carcadia Burn and set The Falling Wall as your active mission. This objective does not place a usable waypoint, so you must approach the breach manually.

Step 2: Enter Siltgrasp Canyon from the side of the main road in Lopside. On an unfogged map, this approach is marked by prominent purple Eridium crystal terrain.

Step 3: Use the first grapple point inside the canyon to climb toward the wrecked structure ahead. Grappling is required here; there is no alternate ramp route.

Step 4: Go inside the crashed ship/building and interact with the red console in the room to unlock the far door. This opens the passage into Dominion City’s Carcadia District.

Step 5: Climb the metal debris on the right in the next space to reach the updraft/jump surface nearby. This puts you on the correct vertical path toward the breach.

Step 6: Use the jump pad/updraft to launch to the next level. Maintain momentum and line up your view toward the visible anchor above.

Step 7: Grapple the anchor point on the left to pull up to the next ledge. The path forward is linear from here but remains vertical.

Step 8: Follow the walkway until it appears to dead‑end at a collapsed span. Stop at the opening on the left edge; this is where the route continues.

Step 9: Drop down through the hole on the left into the cave with purple crystal formations. Entering this cave unlocks the Final Defiance fast travel station inside Dominion City, confirming you’re on the correct track.

Go to The Lockaway (safehouse location)
Step 1: Move out from the cave and proceed along the main street through the Carcadia District arena space. Combat here is optional for progression; you can sprint past hostiles if desired.

Step 2: Continue forward until you pass through a corridor formed by a large open shipping container. On exiting the container, turn left to the next arena.

Step 3: Use the grapple points on the higher platforms along the arena’s far side to reach the entrance of The Lockaway safehouse. The door sits above ground level; the grapples are the intended access.

Open The Lockaway safehouse (datapad and console)
Step 1: Inside The Lockaway, face the wall adorned with the Timekeeper’s image/window and grapple through to the interior ledge. This starts the climb to the control level.

Step 2: Climb the staircase and use the next grapple point to reach the top floor. You will find a lit operations space with a table and terminal.

Step 3: Pick up the datapad lying on the table at the top level. Collecting this item is required to claim the safehouse.

Step 4: Interact with the command console positioned opposite the table to activate the site. This converts The Lockaway into your safehouse and updates the objective.

Step 5: Speak with Zadra to complete The Falling Wall. Your foothold in Dominion City is now established for the next main mission.

Once you know the fixed approach via Siltgrasp Canyon and the safehouse steps, this objective takes just a few minutes and sets you up cleanly for the next push into Dominion.
