Unpaid Tab is the ninth main mission if you follow the Callis questline after defeating Idolator Sol. The mission takes you through a Ripper-controlled refinery to disable a communications blocker, confront the facility lead, and decide the fate of a captive named Quent.

Get the refinery password

You’ll need two halves of a password carried by Ripper leaders in separate camps:

  • Eleri (east camp): She’s protected by a small Invulnerability Orb that must be destroyed before she takes damage. The orb is armored and vulnerable to Corrosive and Cryo damage. Because it moves, area-of-effect options can make the orb easier to pop.
  • Brenda (west camp): No special protection, but she’s positioned above ground level. Look for a grapple point high on the rear wall of the first area to reach her squad.

Each leader drops an ECHO Log with half the passphrase. With both in hand, return to the refinery, follow the perimeter clockwise to a side approach, clear your way up to the catwalks, and use the buzzer at the side door to enter.

Enter the refinery and stop the jamming device

Inside, link up with Zane in the main yard and fend off multiple Ripper waves. When the area stabilizes, have ECHO‑4 hack the Dahl jamming device on the west side to restore communications. Expect more resistance as you push deeper; keep moving between cover and manage adds so the hack can complete without interruption.

Prepare for the boss arena

Follow Zane out of the cage room to a pair of vending machines. Resupply ammo and offload junk here—this is your last safe stop before the boss. For the upcoming fights, pack Corrosive and Incendiary weapons; many Rippers in this section lack shields, making fire a reliable pick, while Corrosive helps against armored targets.

Drop into the pit ahead. There’s no immediate boss—first, clear another Ripper wave alongside Zane. Once the arena is quiet, the fight begins.

Defeat Driller Hole

Driller Hole runs the refinery for Callis and finally steps out from behind the comms. Mobility matters here, especially when the boss seeds the floor with hazards.

Attack What you see How to avoid
Vertical rocket barrage Rockets fire from the boss’s back, arc upward, then dive toward you; lingering elemental pools remain on the ground. Backpedal or strafe laterally to kite the impacts and avoid the pools; don’t linger in one lane.

Keep sightlines wide so you can track incoming arcs, and don’t overcommit to long reloads while the floor is hot. Use Incendiary to cut down unshielded adds quickly so you can refocus on the boss. Corrosive is a safe secondary if you’re chewing through armored fixtures or tougher targets in the arena.

Save Quent or let the timer expire

After the fight, you’ll get a timed choice with Quent. There are no meaningful story consequences either way, though Zane and Levaine’s dialogue changes based on what you do.

  • To save Quent: Look up at the central machine. Use your grapple to pull down six levers, then shoot the three glowing components near the ceiling. Circle the rig while looking up so you don’t miss a lever or target.
  • To leave Quent: Do nothing; the 60‑second timer runs out and the mission proceeds.

The mission wraps shortly after your choice.

Mission rewards and next step

  • Rare or Epic SMG
  • SICKO‑4 Frame
  • XP
  • Cash
  • Eridium

With Unpaid Tab complete, your next main mission is Her Flaming Vision.

Unpaid Tab doesn’t hinge on obscure mechanics, but it does reward attention: grab both password halves, watch for that moving Invulnerability Orb, and stay light on your feet during Driller Hole’s rocket volleys. Stock the right elemental tools, and the refinery won’t keep you long.
