Catching Wolfe in Crimson Desert — Bounty Location and Walkthrough

Catching Wolfe in Crimson Desert — Bounty Location and Walkthrough

Wolfe is a wanted criminal in Pailune who earned his bounty by throwing filthy waste on other people's walls and deliberately defiling the town. His punishment? A price on his head. His solution? Disguising himself as a boar and hiding in the mountains. It's one of the more lighthearted bounties in Crimson Desert, and spotting his ridiculous costume is half the fun.

Quick answer: Complete Chapter 7 (Homecoming) to liberate Pailune City, finish a few earlier bounties like Sienna and Sigrid, then find Wolfe's poster in Pailune. Travel to the Silver Wolf Mountains, tackle the standing "boar," hit him three times, tie him up, and carry him to the Pailune Constabulary for 14 Silver.

Unlock requirements for the Wolfe Bounty

Wolfe's bounty poster will not appear until you have cleared a specific story milestone. You need to finish Chapter 7 — Homecoming, the chapter where you liberate Pailune City. Bounties tied to the Pailune area only begin spawning after this point in the main storyline.

Even after reaching that threshold, the Wolfe poster may not show up immediately. Crimson Desert staggers its bounty availability, so you'll likely need to pick up and turn in a handful of other targets first. The Sienna Bounty and the Sigrid Bounty are two that commonly appear before Wolfe's does. Work through whatever bounties are currently posted, and Wolfe's should cycle in.

Finding the bounty poster

Bounty posters in Pailune are tacked onto walls, billboards, and poles throughout the city. The fastest way to locate one is to watch your mini map for a purple indicator marker — that icon flags bounty posters and similar notices. Walk up to the poster and interact with it to read the details, which will mark Wolfe's hiding spot on your map.

🗺️
If you don't see a purple marker anywhere in Pailune, you likely still have an active bounty to turn in or need to complete one more before the next poster spawns.

Wolfe's location in the Silver Wolf Mountains

The poster directs you to the Silver Wolf Mountains, where a group of wild boars roams freely. Wolfe is among them, but he's not hard to pick out. While every real boar walks on four legs close to the ground, Wolfe is standing upright in his boar costume. He sticks out immediately once you get close enough to the herd.

Capturing Wolfe and turning him in

Step 1: Approach the group of boars. As soon as Wolfe notices you, he bolts. Sprint after him — he's on foot and not particularly fast.

Step 2: Tackle him by pressing R on keyboard or LB (Xbox) / L1 (PlayStation) on a controller. This knocks him to the ground.

Step 3: Hit him three times while he's down, then tie him up. You'll now be carrying him.

Step 4: Haul Wolfe all the way back to the Pailune Constabulary and hand him over to the guards.

⚠️
Bring him back alive. Turning in Wolfe alive rewards 14 Silver. If he dies during the encounter, you only receive half — 7 Silver.

Common issues and things to keep in mind

Some players have reported that certain Hernand bounties have unusual unlock triggers beyond just story progression. Side quests, noble house faction tasks, and even clearing northern outposts can influence which bounties appear and when. If you've finished Chapter 7 and completed several bounties but Wolfe's poster still hasn't shown up, try working through additional side content in the Pailune and Hernand areas. Bounties in Crimson Desert tend to cascade — finishing one often causes the next to appear in a location you've already checked.

Wolfe's bounty is one of the simpler targets in Crimson Desert, but it's a satisfying one. The boar disguise alone makes the trip to the Silver Wolf Mountains worth it, and the 14 Silver reward is a decent payout for what amounts to a short chase and a long walk back to town.
