Completing the Everturn Forest Bestiary in Fisch

Everturn Forest is a permanent island region located east of Moosewood, characterized by its dense oak trees and rapidly changing seasonal environments. Catching every fish native to this region requires matching specific environmental conditions, specialized bait, and casting into exact coordinate pools. The local bestiary features 20 standard fish and one secret species, many of which only appear during specific times of day or under strict weather patterns.

💡
Quick answer: Travel west from Moosewood to the general coordinates X: 2365, Y: 130, Z: -2330. You must cast your line specifically into the light blue water areas to catch Everturn Forest species. Casting into the darker surrounding water will yield fish from the generic Ocean bestiary instead.

Seasonal and environmental shifts

The island dynamically changes its appearance and spawn tables based on the active in-game season. Adapting to these shifts is necessary to encounter the rarest species.

  • Winter: Ponds freeze over and snow blankets the island. This season is required for the Frostpetal Minnow, Hoarfrost Pike, Icebloom Koi, Glacial Bark Gar, and Glaciaseer Sturgeon.
  • Spring: Flowers bloom across the terrain. Spring is required to catch the Pollen Guppy, Bloomfin Trout, Petaldrift Koi, Verdant Spiritfish, and Floraseer Sturgeon.
  • Summer: The island takes on its default green appearance. Summer attracts the Canopy Dartfish, Sapflow Eel, Sunleaf Sunfish, Thicket Leviabass, and Solarseer Sturgeon.
  • Autumn: Fallen leaves scatter the ground. Autumn brings out the Rotwood Perch, Amberleaf Carp, Harvest Sunfish, Duskbriar Gar, and Umbraleaf Sturgeon.

Surviving Everturn Forest at night

Fishing in Everturn Forest after the sun goes down introduces severe hazards and entirely new fishing mechanics. The location designation changes to "Everturn Forest (Night)", purple fog rolls in, and trees shed their leaves.

⚠️
The native Oaklings become hostile at night. They will emit a red light and hunt players, dealing 10% of your maximum health per strike. Stand on elevated terrain to avoid them or use a Sundial Totem to fast-forward the day-night cycle.

Despite the danger, nighttime fishing yields a permanent 3× XP multiplier. Catching fish becomes significantly harder due to a localized debuff that applies -50% Resilience to all fish in the area. Fish caught at night feature glowing red eyes and gain a unique biting ability during the minigame. This bite has an initial 12% chance to trigger per fish movement, reducing reeling progress by 20% and shrinking the control bar by 15% for two seconds. The bite chance decays slightly with each attack down to a 6% minimum, operating on an 8-second cooldown.

Rods with exceptionally high resilience and luck ratings, such as the No Life, Oniflarx, or Rod of Glorp, help counteract these nighttime penalties.
