Craft the Obsidiron Chest in 99 Nights in the Forest (Meteor Update)
RobloxTrigger the Meteor Shower, build the anvil, mine shards, and refine ingots to spawn the chest.

The Obsidiron Chest is crafted, not found. You build it at the Meteor Anvil that appears after a Meteor Shower, which can only trigger on day five or later and is announced with the on‑screen message “The sky is on fire.” Collect Meteor and Gold Shards from fallen meteors and refine Obsidiron Ingots, then assemble the blueprint at the anvil to place the chest and secure the achievement.
Obsidiron Chest requirements (items and quantities)
Item | Quantity | Where to get it | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Meteor Shard. | 10. | Mine meteors in the Meteor Crater. | Common red crystals from meteor nodes. |
Gold Shard. | 5. | Mine meteors in the Meteor Crater. | Lower drop rate than Meteor Shards; expect extra mining. |
Obsidiron Ingot. | 3. | Refine Raw Obsidiron Ore dropped from meteors. | Break ore, heat in lava, then cool in water. |
Start the Meteor Shower and locate the Meteor Anvil
Step 1: Progress your run to at least day 5. The Meteor Shower can only occur from this point onward, and it starts with the message “The sky is on fire.”

Step 2: Open your map and look for a red anvil icon. This marks the anvil building that becomes available during the event.

Step 3: Travel to the anvil building and enter cautiously. Clear out any Meteor Crabs inside to make the area safe for assembly.

Assemble and activate the Meteor Anvil
Step 1: Pick up the scattered anvil parts located inside the anvil building. Keep an eye on benches, floors, and corners for all pieces.

Step 2: Carry each part to the anvil outline and place it onto the blueprint. Continue until the anvil model is visibly complete.

Step 3: Interact with the finished anvil by holding E
. Review the crafting menu to confirm the Obsidiron Chest blueprint is listed.
Mine meteors for shards
Step 1: Head to the Meteor Crater and mine meteor nodes for Meteor Shards. Gather until you reach the target of 10.

Step 2: Continue mining the same meteor nodes for Gold Shards. Their drop chance is lower, so plan to mine more nodes to reach 5.

Step 3: Keep any Raw Obsidiron Ore that drops while mining. You will refine these into Obsidiron Ingots next.
Refine Obsidiron Ingots
Step 1: Break Raw Obsidiron Ore by dropping it from a height. Collect the broken pieces so they are ready for heating.

Step 2: Throw the broken ore into lava within the Meteor Crater to create a scalding ingot. Wait briefly until the transformation is visible.

Step 3: Retrieve the hot ingot and cool it in water, such as a nearby pond, to finish the Obsidiron Ingot. Repeat until you have three ingots.

Craft and place the Obsidiron Chest blueprint
Step 1: Return to the anvil building and select the Obsidiron Chest blueprint in the anvil’s crafting menu. Confirm you have the required shards and ingots.

Step 2: Place 10 Meteor Shards, 5 Gold Shards, and 3 Obsidiron Ingots onto the anvil to craft the blueprint. Wait for the blueprint to complete.

Step 3: Pick up the finished blueprint and place it on the ground to spawn the Obsidiron Chest. Open the chest to collect loot and unlock the new achievement.

Event and crafting notes
- The Obsidiron Chest is craft-only; it does not drop from enemies or structures.
- The Meteor Anvil only appears after a Meteor Shower, marked on the map with a red anvil icon.
- Gold Shards are rarer than Meteor Shards, so budget extra time for mining.
- Blacksmith-focused playstyles can speed up assembly and crafting at the anvil.
- Placing the crafted blueprint summons the chest; opening it also grants a new achievement.
Once the event triggers and the anvil is built, the rest is a resource check: mine, refine, craft, and place. Follow the sequence above and you’ll have the chest and achievement in a single meteor cycle.
