Crafting SSR Engraved Equipment in Seven Deadly Sins: Origin

Crafting SSR Engraved Equipment in Seven Deadly Sins: Origin

SSR Engraved Equipment represents the top tier of character-specific armor in Seven Deadly Sins: Origin. Unlike generic gear, each engraved set is tailored to a particular hero, delivering powerful stat bonuses that can meaningfully shift endgame performance. The catch is that crafting a full set demands several rare materials, some of which are gated behind high-difficulty content and limited-use keys.

Quick answer: Visit the NPC Elijah in the East District of Liones, open the engrave menu, select your hero, and combine a base SSR armor piece with Magic-infused Enhanced Metal and a Brilliant Engraving Seal to craft the engraved version.

Where to find Elijah and the engrave menu

Elijah is a Liones Seal merchant located in the East District. Interacting with him opens a dedicated engrave crafting interface. On the left side of the panel, you'll see every material required for the selected hero's gear set. To switch between heroes, tap the double-arrow icon in the upper-right corner of the screen. Once you've chosen the piece you want, confirm you have all three material types and press the Engrave button at the bottom.

Required materials for SSR Engraved Equipment

Every engraved piece follows the same recipe structure. You need a base SSR armor piece of the matching slot, a quantity of Magic-infused Enhanced Metal, and at least one Brilliant Engraving Seal. The table below breaks down each component and its primary acquisition method.

Farming base SSR armor pieces

SSR armor drops primarily from dungeon clears and boss encounters. The important detail is difficulty level — lower tiers rarely, if ever, reward SSR-grade pieces. You need to be running higher-difficulty versions of these fights to see premium drops in the loot table. Because specific armor slots drop at random, expect to repeat runs before you complete a full set for any single hero.

If you're struggling to clear higher difficulties solo, co-op is a practical alternative. Joining another player's session lets you tackle content above your comfortable solo threshold while still being eligible for the same loot pool.

⚠️
Boss challenges and dungeons consume Cube Keys to enter. Key acquisition is itself time-gated, so plan your runs carefully rather than burning keys on difficulties you can't reliably clear.

Crafting Magic-infused Enhanced Metal

Magic-infused Enhanced Metal is a crafted intermediate material. You combine Platinum Ingot with Enhanced Metal to produce it. Platinum Ore nodes are scattered throughout the open world and are relatively plentiful — farming ore is more a matter of routing efficiency than scarcity. Enhanced Metal, on the other hand, comes from salvaging gear you no longer need. Duplicate drops from dungeon farming serve double duty here: pieces you don't equip can be broken down into Enhanced Metal to fuel your engraving pipeline.

Tip: Farming Platinum Ore across all open-world locations rather than camping a single zone tends to yield faster results, since nodes respawn on individual timers.

Getting Brilliant Engraving Seals

The Brilliant Engraving Seal is the rarest component in the recipe and the most common bottleneck. There are three ways to acquire it:

  • Bundle Shop — Seals occasionally appear in premium bundles. This is the most direct but potentially costly route.
  • Weekly overworld merchants — Certain rotating merchants in the open world stock Brilliant Engraving Seals. Their inventory refreshes on a weekly cycle, so check back regularly.
  • Boss dungeon drops — The golden seal can drop from boss encounters, though the rate is low. Treat this as a bonus rather than a reliable farming method.

Because weekly merchant stock is limited and boss drops are inconsistent, accumulating enough seals for multiple engraved sets takes patience. Prioritize engraving gear for your main damage dealer or most-used hero first.

Speeding up the process with Seal Vendors

Beyond the standard farming loop, Seal Vendors offer an alternative path to both SSR weapons and SSR Engraved Equipment materials. These vendors accept specific seal currencies that you accumulate through gameplay and convert them into crafting components or finished gear pieces. Checking in with Seal Vendors regularly can shave significant time off the grind, especially for Brilliant Engraving Seals that are otherwise hard to come by.

Stepwise crafting walkthrough

Step 1: Travel to the East District of Liones and interact with Elijah, the Seal merchant. This opens the engrave crafting menu.

Step 3: Select the specific equipment slot you want to engrave. The left panel will list the exact materials and quantities required — a base SSR armor piece, Magic-infused Enhanced Metal, and a Brilliant Engraving Seal.

Step 4: If all materials are in your inventory, press the Engrave button at the bottom of the screen. The engraved SSR piece will be added to your inventory, ready to equip.

You'll know the craft succeeded when the new engraved item appears in your equipment list with the hero-specific name and stat bonuses visible on the item tooltip.

SSR Engraved Equipment is one of the most impactful power upgrades in Seven Deadly Sins: Origin's endgame, but it's deliberately slow to acquire. The combination of random armor drops, crafted metals, and rare seals means you won't be fully kitting out your roster overnight. Focus on one hero at a time, salvage aggressively, and keep an eye on weekly merchant rotations to make steady progress toward a complete engraved set.
