Crimson Lake Location

Crimson Lake sits within the Silver Wolf Mountain area in northern Pailune. The lake itself is surrounded by snowy, mountainous terrain and features a small island at its center with a house rumored to belong to a witch. The Abyss Nexus fast travel point is built into ancient stone ruins that overlook the lake from above.

When you open your map, the location appears in the northern section of Pailune. The area is marked as Silver Wolf Mountain, and the lake is visible as a dark body of water with the island structure in the middle.

How to Activate the Abyss Nexus

Abyss Nexus fast travel points appear as round stone floor plates. To activate this teleporter, you need to locate it and stand on it for a moment. The game will register the activation, and the location will then appear as a blue icon on your map.

If you're having trouble spotting the Abyss Nexus, use your sword's Guiding Light ability. Press and hold the lantern and normal attack buttons simultaneously (L1+R1 on PlayStation, LB+RB on Xbox, or CTRL + Left Click on PC). This highlights nearby points of interest, including Abyss Nexuses, with a blue glow when they're in sight.

White question mark circles on your map indicate search areas that may contain an Abyss Nexus, though these markers can also represent other exploration challenges like Secret Places or Ancient Ruins. The Crimson Lake Abyss Nexus is located on the elevated ruins, not down at lake level.

Fast Travel System in Crimson Desert

Crimson Desert features over 160 fast travel locations across its world, split between Abyss Nexus points and Abyss Cressets. Abyss Nexuses are the standard teleporters that appear as stone plates on the ground. Once activated, you can fast travel to them by opening your map, hovering over the blue icon, and selecting the travel option.

Abyss Cressets are a different type of teleporter that often require solving puzzles at Ancient Ruins or completing Secret Place challenges. These also reward you with an Abyss Artifact (skill point) upon completion. The Crimson Lake location is an Abyss Nexus, not an Abyss Cresset, so no puzzle is required.

Each of the 40 Abyss Restoration challenges on sky islands also unlocks a fast travel point. From these elevated positions, you can skydive down to surrounding areas, making them useful for reaching remote locations quickly.

Pailune Region Fast Travel Points

The Pailune region contains 44 Abyss Nexus fast travel points spread across its territory. The Crimson Lake location is catalogued as North Pailune 7 – Silver Wolf Mountain in the complete list of teleporters.

Other notable Pailune fast travel points include two locations in Pailune Town itself, multiple points throughout the Wayward Woods area, and several scattered across the northern, southern, eastern, and western sections of the region. The distribution ensures you can reach most major landmarks and settlements without excessive travel time.

When exploring Pailune, consider activating the teleporter northwest of Beighen village and the points near the Spire of Frost, though the latter area contains high-level enemies that may pose a challenge early in the game.

Efficient Exploration Strategy

To maximize your fast travel network efficiency, ring all eight bells in Crimson Desert first to fully unfog the map. These bell locations are part of the Toll of Pywel mechanic and reveal large sections of the world map when activated. As you travel to each bell, activate any Abyss Nexus points you encounter along the way.

This approach gives you complete map visibility and a comprehensive fast travel network early in your playthrough, saving significant time for the remainder of the game. All regions in Crimson Desert are explorable from the start, so you can visit Pailune and activate the Crimson Lake Abyss Nexus whenever you choose.

Once you activate a fast travel point, it remains permanently available on your map. You can return to Crimson Lake instantly from anywhere in the world by opening your map and selecting the blue icon at Silver Wolf Mountain.
