"Familiar Curses" caps off the Homestead arc in Chapter 3 of Crimson Desert, and the entire quest revolves around infiltrating St. Halssius' House of Healing to track down a Greymane — Kliff's old companion, Yann. The complex is heavily guarded, and Kliff has no authorization to walk through the front door. You have three distinct ways to get past security, each with its own cost and risk profile.
Quick answer: Purchase a St. Halssius visitor pass (10 silver) from Alfred at the Church of Hernand, buy a priest disguise (10 silver) from a guard near the entrance, or sneak in from the left side of the complex by climbing the cliff and hopping a stone wall.

All three entry methods for the House of Healing
| Method | Cost | Where to Start | Key Detail |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visitor pass | 10 silver coins | Church of Hernand (Alfred) | Only one pass is sold; use the main entrance |
| Priest disguise | 10 silver coins | Guard to the right of the main entrance | Four-piece outfit; equip the full set before entering |
| Stealth | Free | Road to the left of the main entrance | Climb the cliff, hop the stone wall, avoid all guards |
Visitor pass from Alfred at the Church of Hernand
If you have 10 silver coins and don't mind traveling back to Hernand, the simplest option is to buy a St. Halssius visitor pass. Head to the Church of Hernand and speak to Alfred — he sells exactly one pass. Once it's in your inventory, walk up to the House of Healing's main gate. A guard will stop you for a brief conversation, but he'll wave you through once he sees the pass.
This method gives you the most freedom inside the compound. You can explore the grounds openly without worrying about detection.

Priest disguise from a House of Healing guard
If you'd rather not backtrack to Hernand, a guard standing outside the restricted area offers a second paid option. Look for him in front of a door to the right of the main entrance. He charges 10 silver coins for a four-piece St. Halssius priest outfit.
Equip every piece of the set before approaching the gate — partial disguises won't work. With the full outfit on, you can stroll through the front entrance and move around the grounds freely, just like with the visitor pass.
Sneak in without spending any silver
Players who want to save their coins — or who simply prefer stealth — can bypass security entirely for free.
Step 1: From the main entrance, take the road that runs along the left side of the complex. Follow it until you reach a small cliff and climb up.

Step 2: Several guards patrol this area. Stay crouched and time your movement to slip past them undetected.
Step 3: Push forward until you spot a large arched door behind a stone wall. Hop over the wall and go through the door. You'll land in a room filled with nobles and cells — and you're already inside the main building.

Finding the Greymane inside the main building
No matter which entry method you chose, the objective is the same: locate the Greymane in the tallest building on the north side of the compound. If you came through the main gate (pass or disguise), turn left after entering and follow the road north until you reach that building. Stealth players are already inside it.
Step 1: In the main hall, walk past the cells and head up the stairs on the south side of the room.
Step 2: Go through the doorway into a room lined with beds.
Step 3: Pass through the arched doorway on the west wall. A cutscene triggers, and you'll find Yann — Kliff's old Greymane companion.

Escaping the House of Healing with Yann
Once the cutscene ends, stealth is no longer required. Yann takes the lead, and you simply follow him out. Hold A on Xbox, X on PlayStation, or Left Shift on keyboard to keep pace with him automatically.
Watch your positioning as you move through narrow corridors — Kliff can snag on walls, which may slow you down enough for a guard to notice. If you lose track of Yann at any point, open your map and look for an orange dot marking his location.
Yann leads you to a nearby house where a short cutscene plays. Afterward, he finds a wagon, and you both ride out of the area together. When the wagon stops, hop off and follow Yann one last time to finish the Familiar Curses quest and wrap up the Homestead portion of Chapter 3.

With Familiar Curses complete, you've closed out the first act of Chapter 3 and reunited Kliff with Yann. The quest is a good reminder that Crimson Desert often rewards players who explore multiple approaches — whether that means spending silver for convenience or saving it by taking the riskier path over the wall.
