Crimson Desert Patrick Bounty — Where to Find Him and How to Capture Him

Patrick is a bounty target in Crimson Desert, located in the Pailune region, an area that only opens up late in the main story after you liberate the city. He's a drunk pickpocket, and unlike tougher bounties such as Blix, capturing Patrick requires no combat at all. He's essentially passed out when you find him.

Quick answer: Pick up Patrick's bounty poster in Pailune, travel to the marked location in the southern part of the city, tackle him, punch him until the tie-up prompt appears, then carry him to the Pailune jail for 4 Coins.

Prerequisites for the Patrick Bounty

Bounties in Crimson Desert don't become available until you reach Chapter 2 of the main story. You'll need to complete Chapter 1, which includes meeting White Crow the Witch and unlocking the flight skill, then return to Hernand City. Patrick's bounty specifically requires even more progress than that — the Pailune region must be liberated before you can access bounties there. If you haven't reached Pailune yet, continue pushing through the main questline until the region opens up.

Finding Patrick's bounty poster in Pailune

Like all bounty bills in Crimson Desert, Patrick's poster spawns randomly on bulletin boards and poles throughout the city of Pailune. Look for the purple icon on your mini-map, which indicates a nearby bounty bill or side quest. The poster locations aren't fixed, so you may need to check several spots around town before you find the one for Patrick. Once you interact with the poster, read it to learn about the target and get a map marker pointing to his location.

Patrick's location and how to capture him alive

Step 1: After reading the bounty poster, open your journal to track the bounty. The marker will point to the southern part of Pailune City.

Step 2: Head to the marked spot. Patrick will be there, drunk and incapacitated. He won't fight back or aggro, making this one of the simplest bounties in the entire game.

Step 3: Tackle Patrick. On PlayStation, press X. On Xbox, press A. On keyboard, crouch with C and then use the grab input (F + left mouse button). Since Patrick isn't hostile, you don't need to worry about the mid-combat tackle techniques required for bounties like Blix.

Step 4: Once he's on the ground, punch him a few times until the tie-up prompt appears. Do not use a weapon — unarmed strikes are what you need here. When the prompt shows up, tie him up.

⚠️
Even tied-up bounty targets can struggle free during transport. If Patrick breaks loose while you're riding, dismount and tackle him again before retying.

Delivering Patrick to the Pailune jail

Step 1: Call your horse after tying Patrick up. Pick him up and load him onto your mount.

Step 2: Ride to the jail in the Pailune region. The jail location should be visible on your map once you're tracking the bounty.

Step 3: Approach the jail entrance. A cutscene will trigger where the guards take Patrick off your hands, and you receive your reward of 4 Coins.

You'll know the bounty is complete when the cutscene finishes and the bounty entry clears from your journal.

What happens if you accidentally kill Patrick

Bringing a bounty target back alive always pays the full reward. If you kill the target instead, you receive a reduced payout — roughly half. To collect even the reduced bounty on a dead target, you need to carry the corpse back to the constabulary. Sheathe your weapon, use your lantern to highlight the body, and the option to pick it up should appear. On PC, pressing CTRL (or LB on controller) near the body lets you carry it. Load the corpse onto your horse and ride it back to the jail just as you would a living target.

Since Patrick doesn't fight back, accidentally killing him is unlikely unless you use a weapon. Stick to fists and the tackle-to-tie-up sequence, and you'll collect the full 4 Coins without any issues.

General bounty capture controls

Patrick is a freebie, but the capture mechanics are worth understanding for harder bounties down the line. Here's a quick reference for the tackle and tie-up inputs across platforms.

For hostile bounties that immediately aggro, the mid-combat method is essential. Use Force Palm to stagger the target, quickly enter crouch, then execute the tackle input. You cannot be locked onto the enemy when attempting this — untarget them first, or the input will default to a throw instead of a tackle.

Patrick is about as straightforward as bounties get in Crimson Desert. The real challenge is simply reaching Pailune in the first place. Once you're there, the whole process takes under five minutes, and the 4 Coins are easy money toward your next upgrade or purchase.
