Crimson Desert's Marni Laser Helm — Location, Controls, and Kuku Upgrade

Crimson Desert's Marni Laser Helm — Location, Controls, and Kuku Upgrade

The Marni Laser Helm is one of Crimson Desert's stranger pieces of armor. It provides a base defense stat of 4, grants Daze Immunity, and — most importantly — lets you lock onto multiple enemies and blast them with explosive laser beams. It isn't gated behind any quest or mission, but reaching the fortress where it's stored requires a long ride into dangerous territory and some careful stealth work once you arrive.

Quick answer: Travel to Marni's Masterium in the southeastern corner of Delesyia, sneak or fight your way into the courtyard workshop on the left side of the main path, and pick the helm up from the table inside.

Marni Laser Helm Location — Marni's Masterium in Delesyia

Marni's Masterium is a large cliff-top fortress near the southeastern coast of Delesyia, south of Mount Benus. If you're still in Hernand when you decide to go after the helm, you'll need to ride east through Demeniss and then into Delesyia. The journey is long, and the difficulty ramps up sharply once you cross into Delesyia. Swarms of mechanized dragonflies patrol the region, firing laser beams and chasing you relentlessly. They hit hard if your defense is low.

⚠️
Complete at least Chapter 5 before attempting this trip. The health, defense, and damage you gain by that point make a significant difference in survivability across Delesyia. The Tauria Curved Sword earned from the Crowcaller boss fight at the end of Chapter 5 is particularly effective against the dragonflies — its heavy attack sends crows that fly up to airborne targets.

When you reach the fortress, you'll find it crawling with golem enemies and more of those mechanized dragonflies. The entire area is hostile on arrival. Rather than charging through the front, consider climbing the cliffside along the coast to slip in with minimal detection. A large golem patrols the main courtyard and can absorb enormous punishment, so avoiding it entirely saves time and healing items.

Picking Up the Helm Inside the Fortress

Step 1: Once inside the fortress walls, look for a small workshop room to the left of the main path, accessible through an arched opening. You can also drop in through the building's missing roof to bypass the courtyard golem entirely.

Step 2: Inside the workshop, the Marni Laser Helm sits on a small table. Walk up to it and interact to collect it.

Step 3: If the interaction prompt doesn't appear, enemies are still actively searching for you. Either crouch next to the table and wait for them to lose interest, or eliminate the nearby threats first. Once aggro clears, the helm becomes interactable.

After grabbing it, you can either liberate the rest of the base or simply leave.

How to Equip and Fire the Marni Laser Helm

Picking the helm up doesn't automatically make it usable. You need to go through two separate equip steps before the laser function becomes available.

Step 1: Open your inventory and equip the Marni Laser Helm in the helmet armor slot, the same way you'd equip any other headgear.

Step 2: Hold Right on the D-Pad to open the Special Equipment radial menu. Select the Marni Laser Helm from the right side of the wheel to assign it as your active special equipment.

Step 3: In combat, press L2 + R2 simultaneously. The helm enters a targeting phase where it automatically locks onto nearby enemies — targeting boxes appear around each one. Release both triggers to fire a barrage of explosive lasers at every marked target.

Upgrading to the Kuku Marni Laser Helm

The base helm is fun, but the upgraded Kuku Marni Laser Helm is a substantial improvement. It can be refined for higher defense, and it fires three laser shots instead of one. Crafting it requires a blueprint, the original helm, and several materials gathered from different corners of the map.

Kuku Marni Laser Helm Crafting Materials

MaterialHow to Obtain
Marni Laser Helm ×1Picked up from Marni's Masterium in Delesyia
Enhanced Kuku Pot ×1Crafted from 1 Kuku Pot + 1 Abyss Cell
Power Core – Gate of Collapse ×1Random drop from Abyss monsters (e.g., stone worm guardians at Abyss Nexus points)
Electrical Component ×3Farmed from large robotic enemies in the Blue Thicket, eastern Delesyia
Core of Transgression ×1Earned from the riddle minigame at the Sanctum of Oblation in Delesyia

Bring all five materials to Grimnir at the Kilnden Workshop in Hernand to craft the upgrade.

Getting the Kuku Marni Laser Helm Blueprint

You first need to unlock the Witch of Wisdom. Once she's available, complete the Sanctum of Benediction — located beneath the "E" in "Hernand" on the map. Clearing that sanctum rewards you with the Kuku Marni Laser Helm Blueprint.

Getting the Enhanced Kuku Pot Blueprint

With the Witch of Wisdom unlocked, complete the Sanctum of Absolution. This sanctum includes a difficult boss fight against Antumbra's Sword, so come prepared. Cleansing it grants the Enhanced Kuku Pot Blueprint, which you can then craft at the Kilnden Workshop using one Kuku Pot and one Abyss Cell.

Farming the Power Core – Gate of Collapse

Travel to any Abyss Nexus fast travel point. Stone worm guardians frequently spawn near these locations. Use Axiom Force (R3) on a worm's eye to kill it, then seal the dropped Power Core into your Kuku Pot with Triangle (or Y on Xbox). The specific Power Core type you receive is random, so save before engaging and reload if you don't get the Gate of Collapse variant.

Farming Electrical Components

Large robotic enemies patrol the Blue Thicket in eastern Delesyia. Defeat them, then use Axiom Force (R3) on their components and press Seal (Triangle/Y) to store each one in the Kuku Pot. You need three total.

Earning the Core of Transgression

Unlock the Witch of Humility, then cleanse the Sanctum of Oblation in Delesyia. After clearing it, face the sanctum and use Blinding Flash (L1 + R1 + L1) on the center blue crystal. A dial begins rotating — tap L1 each time it's about to hit a blue crystal. Completing a full rotation without mistakes rewards the Core of Transgression.

Once you've crafted the Kuku Marni Laser Helm, equip and assign it the same way as the base version. The three-shot capacity and refinable defense make it one of the strongest special equipment options in Crimson Desert, well worth the scavenger hunt across Delesyia's hostile landscape.
