Dragon Talon is a late-game fighting style in Blox Fruits, designed as a direct upgrade to Dragon Breath and focused on close-range, high-damage attacks with large area-of-effect and burn effects. It is only obtainable in the Third Sea and is tied to several other high-end systems, such as Godhuman and the Dojo belt quests.
Dragon Talon requirements
Before you can buy Dragon Talon from Uzoth, you need to meet all of these conditions:
- Third Sea access – Dragon Talon is only obtainable in the Third Sea.
- Dragon Breath Mastery 400+ – Dragon Talon is treated as a straight upgrade to Dragon Breath, so you must have at least 400 Mastery on Dragon Breath.
- Fire Essence – A special item that you must give to Uzoth once.
- Money: 3,000,000 – Standard in-game currency.
- Fragments: 5,000 – Fragment cost on top of the money fee.

How to get Fire Essence
Fire Essence is the gatekeeping item for Dragon Talon. It is obtained through the Random Surprise mechanic at Haunted Castle in the Third Sea.
Step 1: Travel to the Haunted Castle island in the Third Sea. The Death King NPC stands in a small graveyard area next to the castle structure.
Step 2: Talk to Death King and buy Random Surprise rolls. Each roll costs 50 Bones, and you can purchase up to 10 rolls every two hours.
Step 3: Farm Bones by defeating NPCs around Haunted Castle. Every NPC on that island has a chance to drop Bones on defeat.

Step 4: Continue rolling Random Surprises until you receive Fire Essence. The chance is low, so expect to spend a significant amount of Bones and time.
Where to find Uzoth and buy Dragon Talon
Uzoth is the NPC that teaches Dragon Talon and handles the upgrades to the style later.
Step 1: Head to Hydra Island in the Third Sea. From Castle on the Sea, you can use the teleport to reach Hydra Island quickly.
Step 2: Climb up to the Dragon Dojo area on Hydra Island. This is a distinct dojo structure on elevated terrain.

Step 3: Find Uzoth inside Dragon Dojo. Interact with him once you have Fire Essence in your inventory. Uzoth will take the Fire Essence the first time you talk to him with it.
Step 4: After giving Uzoth the Fire Essence, talk to him again with at least 400 Mastery on Dragon Breath, 3,000,000 money, and 5,000 Fragments. He will offer to sell you Dragon Talon.

Once purchased, Dragon Talon becomes one of your fighting styles and can be selected and leveled like any other.
Dragon Talon moves and stats
Dragon Talon’s kit revolves around three core moves with large hitboxes and heavy damage, especially at close range. It also applies strong visual distortion and burn effects.
| Move | Key | Mastery required | Cooldown (s) | Energy cost | Overview |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Talon Lighter | Z | 125 | 7.5 | 30 | Dash and grab attack that ignites the target and finishes with a kick. When upgraded and used on low-health enemies, it gains a powerful execution finisher. |
| Ember Annihilation | X | 250 | 10 | 40 | Launches a fire dragon projectile that drags enemies and explodes with lingering flames. When upgraded, you can ride the dragon and steer it. |
| Infernal Vortex | C | 350 | 17 | 75 | Leaping slam that creates a large fiery explosion with heavy damage and knockback. The upgraded version adds a stun at startup. |
All three moves are capable of breaking Instinct in different situations, with Infernal Vortex ignoring Instinct regardless of how it connects.
Using Dragon Talon for progression and Godhuman
Dragon Talon is more than just a standalone style; it is also part of the requirement web for other high-end content.
- Grinding and Sea Events – The combination of high base damage, burning damage over time, and large area coverage makes Dragon Talon effective for farming mobs and participating in Sea Events, though its knockback can sometimes push NPCs out of range.
- Godhuman prerequisite – At 400+ Mastery, Dragon Talon becomes one of the needed styles to unlock Godhuman, another late-game fighting style in the Third Sea.

How to unlock Dragon Talon upgrades (V2 moves)
Dragon Talon has an upgrade path that improves each of its skills once you are deep enough into Third Sea progression.
Step 1: Level Dragon Talon to at least 500 Mastery. This is required before you can start the belt questline tied to upgrades.
Step 2: Talk to the Dojo Trainer in the Dragon Dojo. With 500+ Mastery on Dragon Talon, you can interact with this NPC and begin the belt quests.
Step 3: Complete the quests up to the fifth quest, which rewards the Blue Belt (Dojo Belt (Blue)). This belt is the key prerequisite for unlocking upgrade interactions with Uzoth.
Step 4: Talk to the Dragon Hunter NPC to start a quest that rewards Blaze Embers. Completing that quest grants Blaze Embers, the material used to upgrade individual Dragon Talon moves.
Step 5: Return to Uzoth with Blaze Embers and choose which Dragon Talon move to upgrade. Each upgrade consumes a set amount of Blaze Embers.
| Move upgraded | Blaze Ember cost | Upgrade effect |
|---|---|---|
| Talon Lighter (Z) | 5 Blaze Embers | Adds an execution finisher when used on enemies with sufficiently low health. |
| Ember Annihilation (X) | 7 Blaze Embers | Allows you to mount and ride the fire dragon projectile while steering it. |
| Infernal Vortex (C) | 10 Blaze Embers | Adds a stun effect to enemies near the move’s startup zone. |
| Total | 22 Blaze Embers | All moves upgraded. |

Strengths and weaknesses of Dragon Talon
Dragon Talon is tuned around raw damage and area coverage, with some clear tradeoffs.
Key strengths:
- Very high damage, including top-tier M1 damage for a fighting style.
- Large hitboxes and area-of-effect on all skills, good for grouped enemies.
- Works well with Awakened Buddha in most cases, thanks to the move reach and AoE.
- Mobility and utility from Talon Lighter and Ember Annihilation, especially when used for short travel or repositioning.
- Strong combo potential with Infernal Vortex and the drag/stun from Ember Annihilation.
Key weaknesses:
- Hard to obtain due to Fire Essence RNG, cost, and mastery requirements.
- Primarily close range, making it easier to counter with high mobility options like Rabbit V3 or Flash Step.
- High knockback on some attacks, which can push NPCs or players away and hurt sustained DPS during grinding.
- Startup time on moves like Infernal Vortex, which can be punished if used carelessly.
- Z move has a relatively small hitbox and long animation, leaving you open to third-party hits or kill steals.
Instinct interactions
All three Dragon Talon skills can break Instinct, but they behave differently:
- Talon Lighter (Z) can break Instinct on the initial grab if it lands directly. It can be tricked or dodged if opponents time Instinct or movement correctly.
- Ember Annihilation (X) can break Instinct at point-blank range both on the first hit and on the flame patches, though it can still be dodged at range with Instinct.
- Infernal Vortex (C) breaks Instinct regardless of how it connects, making it reliable for consuming charges.

Once unlocked and upgraded, Dragon Talon becomes one of the stronger Third Sea fighting styles for raw damage and PvE clearing, and it doubles as a stepping stone toward Godhuman. The real barrier is not using it but getting it in the first place: rolling Fire Essence, leveling Dragon Breath, and investing the money, fragments, and Blaze Embers needed to reach its full potential.
