Where Chapter 2 fits in the main quest order

The main story up to Chapter 2 is structured in two blocks:

  • Prologue — “Night Voyage” (Escape the Purgatorio Island; Burial Ground of Time; Whispers of the Sands)
  • Noctoyager Chapter 1 — “Black Iron and White Flower” (sequence of missions listed below)

As the story pushes past Chapter 1, expect your team to widen beyond the initial healers. Daphne joins around Chapter 2 as another healer with team-buffing capabilities. Having more than one healer early is valuable because the game offers few at the start, and encounters in the late Chapter 1 chain include chases and multi-phase skirmishes where sustained recovery helps you stay on route instead of backtracking.

How you know you’re ready for Chapter 2

Once every mission listed under Noctoyager Chapter 1 is complete—ending with “On a Gentle Breeze”—the story rolls into the next chapter. If you’re not seeing the transition, revisit The Reborn’s Forging requirement and any in-mission prompts in “The Art of Survival” that involve speaking to specific NPCs (Badi in the alley; the rooftop witness; Camila back at the Asphodel). Skipping a conversation step can leave the tracker idle even after you’ve cleared the fight.

Finish the Chapter 1 chain, clear the Forging gate, and you’ll be pushed into Chapter 2 with a fuller toolkit, a broader party, and a clear runway for the next set of missions.
