Duet Night Abyss Rhythm — kit, stats, teams, and how to unlock
Duet Night AbyssAn Electro DPS who chains charges and converts Sanity to damage, plus how her unlocks work.
Rhythm is an Electro-focused damage dealer in Duet Night Abyss, built around fast gap-closes, persistent area pressure, and a resource loop that turns Sanity into Electric Energy and back again. She fights with a katana at close range and an assault rifle at distance, but her strongest moments come from timing her leap, entering Electro Surge, and letting her charge mechanics pull enemies together for burst damage.

Kit overview (skills, passives, and resource loop)
| Ability | Type | Cost | What it does | Key mechanics |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Volt Rush | Skill — DMG | Sanity: 20 | Leaps forward, dealing Electro damage along the path. |
|
| Electro Vortex | Ultimate — Buff | Sanity: 10 to activate; 20 per second during Electro Surge | Deals an initial burst of Electro damage, then enters Electro Surge, repeatedly damaging enemies in range. |
|
| Tactical Preservation | Passive | — | Converts a portion of Sanity spent into Electric Energy, up to a cap equal to max Sanity. |
|
Passive upgrades (combat partner and sustain tools)
- ATK +20% and +30% (two separate nodes).
- Skill range +12% and +18% (two separate nodes).
- Poweroff Anxiety: when consuming Electric Energy, 50% of the amount spent is converted back into Sanity.
- Thundering Nightbreaker: when deployed as a Combat Partner, increases ATK by 40% for Rhythm and nearby Electro teammate(s).
Together, these create a sustainable rotation: Tactical Preservation builds Energy from Sanity spend; Poweroff Anxiety refunds Sanity from Energy spend; Thundering Nightbreaker rewards running an Electro pairing.

Intron levels (1–6 effects)
| Intron | Effect |
|---|---|
| 1 | Electric Charge deals small-area damage (3m radius). |
| 2 | On death, a target’s Electric Charge transfers to another enemy within 20m, keeping remaining duration. |
| 3 | Volt Rush +2 levels; Tactical Preservation +1 level. |
| 4 | Starts battle with Electric Energy equal to 50% of max Sanity. |
| 5 | Electro Vortex +2 levels; Tactical Preservation +1 level. |
| 6 | Electro Surge hits two enemies per second instead of one. |
These upgrades reinforce her crowd control and uptime. Early nodes spread and persist Charge; later nodes accelerate her opener and expand Surge throughput.
How to play Rhythm (rotation and resource timing)
- Enter fights with Energy in the bank when possible (Intron 4 helps). Use Electro Vortex to start Electro Surge, then reposition with the movement speed buff.
- Apply alternating charges via Electro Surge and let the pull effect clump enemies for AoE follow-ups.
- Spend 30 Electric Energy on Volt Rush for the empowered leap and the damage window. Fit your primary weapon strings inside that 9-second buff.
- Leverage the refund loop: Sanity spent builds Energy; Energy spent partially restores Sanity with Poweroff Anxiety, enabling longer Surge windows.

Team building and weapons (synergy-first)
- Pair with another Electro unit to benefit from Thundering Nightbreaker’s ATK boost for nearby Electro teammate(s) when Rhythm is a Combat Partner.
- Frontline with the katana during Volt Rush’s damage window; swap to assault rifle to maintain pressure while Electro Surge ticks.
- Look for Demon Wedges and gear lines that increase Skill DMG, Electro DMG, ATK, or skill range. Sanity economy and survivability rolls help sustain Electro Surge.
If you prefer a single-target bias, emphasize empowered Volt Rush timing and katana combos. For adds and bosses with spawns, lean on Electro Surge uptime and introns that spread/transfer charge.
How to unlock Rhythm (Secret Letters, Thoughts, and modes)
Characters, weapons, and Demon Wedges are earned via Secret Letters after completing Covert Commissions. Each successful run gives a choice of rewards; character Thoughts are the key currency, and it takes 30 Thoughts to unlock a new character. Commissions are level 40 activities, so progress the story and shore up your starter build before grinding.
- Convert 10 Secret Letter Clues into one Secret Letter. Clues come from the main story, side quests, dailies/weeklies, and endgame modes.
- Endgame sources include Nocturnal Echoes (weekly bosses), Mystic Maze (weekly Clues), and Immersive Theater (rotating high-yield Clues and featured character Letters over 28 days).
- At launch, weekly bosses include Secret Letters for Rhythm among other characters; featured characters rotate through Immersive Theater first before moving to boss pools and then shop exchange.

Leveling and upgrade priorities (practical approach)
- Invest in both actives: Electro Vortex defines area control and team speed; Volt Rush is your damage window and engagement tool.
- Boost Tactical Preservation as you gain Intron nodes to strengthen the Sanity↔Energy flow; combine with Poweroff Anxiety for longer Surge windows.
- Early introns that add AoE to Electric Charge and transfer it on kill provide immediate value in mob-heavy content.
Balancing Surge uptime against Sanity drain is the central skill check. Rhythm’s kit rewards disciplined Energy banking and spending Volt Rush during favorable damage windows rather than on cooldown.
Cosmetics and voice
| Item | Type | How to obtain |
|---|---|---|
| Starlit | Outfit | Cosmetics shop; usable by all characters |
| Silent Sentinel | Backpiece | Unlock Rhythm |
Voice cast includes Sophie Colquhoun (EN), 瀬戸麻沙美 (JP), 橙璃 (CN), and 김예림 (KR).

Rhythm slots cleanly into Electro-centric squads as a primary or co-DPS who brings mobility, grouping, and a self-sustaining resource loop. If you build around her Surge uptime and time Volt Rush inside the charge pull windows, she returns consistent value in both mobbing and boss phases.
