Dying Light: The Beast — Get the Breslau Blade ‘Statue Sword’
Dying Light: The BeastDestroy nine crests around Old Town’s Town Hall, trigger the memorial, then take the blade and its blueprint.

The statue in Old Town’s Town Hall square holds the Breslau Blade, a legendary one‑handed machete. You unlock it by shooting nine hidden crests/stone tablets placed in and around the square, then activating the memorial at the statue’s base.

What you need before you start
Bring a high‑damage ranged option. Shotguns work reliably; the grenade launcher also breaks the crests quickly. Some players only managed to destroy certain crests with weapons rated around 700+ damage, so plan for that threshold if your shots aren’t registering.
- Location: Old Town, Town Hall square (central statue holding a blade in its right hand).
- Goal: Find and destroy nine beaver crests/stone tablets within the square, then claim the blade.
- Cue: Each destroyed crest plays a short whistle, confirming progress.
Find the statue at Town Hall square (Old Town)
Step 1: Fast travel or parkour to Old Town and make your way to the Town Hall’s main square. You’ll see a statue at the center, holding a blade in its right hand.

Step 2: Stand facing the statue and note the memorial/plaque at its base. You’ll use this later to trigger the pickup sequence once all nine crests are destroyed.

Destroy the 9 crests/stone tablets around Town Hall
Step 1: Shoot the two crests on the statue’s base: one on the front of the pillar beneath the statue, and one on the back. Listen for the whistle after each hit.

Step 2: Move to the Town Hall’s main entry. Shoot the crests mounted on the right and left entrance pillars. These are easy to miss if you only scan ground level.

Step 3: Look to the right side of the square for the connecting skybridge near the Trattoria. Shoot the crest mounted on that bridge.

Step 4: Still on the right side, find the white building facing the square and shoot the crest placed on its facade. If you don’t see it, back up to widen your viewing angle.

Step 5: Sweep the right flank of the Town Hall building for the remaining three crests. Two are mounted higher up (near tower pillars or around the clock/emblem areas), so climb to a vantage point for a clear shot; the third sits in an emblem above an archway.

Step 6: Re‑scan the square. All nine crests are within the plaza in front of the Town Hall. Use the whistle sound as your confirmation; if you didn’t hear nine whistles, you still have one to find.
Claim the Breslau Blade from the statue
Step 1: Return to the memorial plaque in front of the statue and interact with it. This unlocks the pickup sequence once all nine crests are destroyed.

Step 2: Wait for the brief fireworks display to finish. Don’t climb the statue until the effect completes, or the prompt may not appear.

Step 3: Climb the statue and interact with the blade in its right hand to take the Breslau Blade. You also receive its blueprint so you can craft it later.

Troubleshooting: crests won’t break or the sword won’t release
Step 1: Upgrade your weapon choice. If a pistol or crossbow isn’t working, switch to a shotgun or the grenade launcher. A higher damage threshold may be required for certain crests.
Step 2: Aim for the center of the crest. Shots that clip the edge sometimes don’t register; step back or reposition to get a square hit.
Step 3: Get elevation for the high placements. Two crests sit higher on the Town Hall side; climb to a rooftop or balcony for a clean line of sight.
Step 4: Can’t interact with the plaque? You likely missed a crest. Re‑circle the square, using the whistle count to ensure you’ve reached nine.
