Dying Light: The Beast — Killing Streak Volume Two walkthrough
Dying Light: The BeastHow to clear Old Town’s church, find the Bloody Letter, and claim your rewards.

Killing Streak: Volume Two is a follow-up side quest that triggers shortly after you complete Killing Streak. Doug — the Town Hall shopkeeper who kicked off the first leg — radios in again: more of his people have gone missing, this time inside the church in Old Town. The objective is simple but chaotic: enter the church, thin out a large Infected crowd from a safe position, and secure a note that moves the investigation forward.
Quest requirements and recommended level
- Prerequisite: Complete the Killing Streak side quest.
- Recommended level: 1 (early-game friendly).
Prep before you leave Town Hall
You’re heading into a confined interior packed with Infected and at least one heavy target. Bring throwables that control groups and apply persistent pressure from range:
- Molotovs or Hand Grenades to whittle down the mob quickly.
- A handful of throwing knives to deal with a distant Spitter.
Reach Old Town’s church and take position
Enter the church and immediately look for the lone scaffolding tucked into a corner of the interior. Climb up and settle in; this elevated perch is the safest way to manage the fight. From here, enemies funnel and expose themselves to area damage without surrounding you.

Control the mob from above
- Open with Molotovs or grenades to break up clusters. Space your throws to keep fire or blast zones active while you recover stamina.
- Watch the upper structure for a Spitter. Don’t ignore it — use throwing knives or another quick ranged option to remove it early so you aren’t chipped down while focusing on the crowd below.
- Stay on the platform and pick off stragglers. Preserve a throwable or two for enemies that path awkwardly or try to reach your position.
As the numbers drop, a heavily armored Infected will likely be among the last remaining. Keep the high ground long enough to thin out everything else; when it’s alone, you can decide whether to continue from range or hop down for a brief, focused engagement.
After the fight: find the Bloody Letter
With the room clear, return to the entrance area. Near the doorway — behind hanging bodies — you’ll find the Bloody Letter. Interact with it to update the quest and trigger the check-in with Doug.

Turn-in and rewards
Once you’ve read the letter and radioed Doug, the quest completes. Rewards:
- x2 Beginner Manuals
- 4,000 Experience
Where this leads next
Killing Streak: Volume Two feeds directly into the next investigation step, Volume Three, continuing the trail behind the faction targeting Doug’s men in Old Town.
Why the scaffolding strategy works here
The church interior stacks hazards against you: tight floor space, sightlines that favor ranged enemies up high, and a tanky Infected that punishes sloppy dodges. The single scaffolding creates a predictable flow of enemies and gives you time to deploy throwables efficiently. Clearing the Spitter early removes the one threat that undermines this position, letting you control the pace instead of reacting to constant chip damage.
That’s all you need for a clean, low-risk clear. Gear up with a few explosives, claim the high ground, remove the Spitter, and the church encounter becomes straightforward — and fast.
