Killing Streak is an early Old Town side quest that spins into a short chain. You’ll take a job from the Town Hall shopkeeper, Doug, track missing scouts, and then follow up on the faction targeting his people. Killing Streak (Volume 1): investigate the well in Old Town

Doug asks you to look into a group of scouts who vanished during a supply run to a well.

  • Approach: Stay on rooftops to the map marker. Elevation reduces mob pressure and gives you safer angles on tougher enemies.
  • Loadout: Craft or bring throwables—Hand Grenades or Molotovs—to thin crowds from range.
  • Engagement: Expect some Infected to climb after you. Keeping high ground lets you avoid being swarmed while you chip away at larger threats.
  • Clue sweep: After clearing the area around the well, search the bodies by the staircases and read the Bloody Letter.

Killing Streak: Volume Three — secure the convoy and survive the trap

After completing Volume Two, Doug radios in another lead: a small convoy ambushed by the same faction hitting his patrols.

  • Approach: Before you arrive, stock more Molotovs or Hand Grenades to break up large packs quickly.
  • Immediate threats: There are two Spitters positioned on top of the trucks. Eliminate them early to avoid constant ranged pressure.
  • Do this before investigating: Loot the Convoy Access Card from an Infected wearing military armor. Use it to open the military tank.
  • Inside the tank: Modern Saber (Rare Long Sword), Mine, and Canned Food.
  • Investigate in order: Check the tracks, the crates behind the truck, and the body near the truck. This sequence triggers a cutscene; a bomb hidden under the body will knock you out.
Note: There’s a reported quirk where the time of day may not change as expected. The sequence is intended to resume at night.
  • Night escape: Upon waking, sprint back to Town Hall. Volatiles are nearby; avoiding fights is the safest play.
