Escape From Duckov: How to get the Color Monitor (J‑Lab, drops)

The Color Monitor is the missing link for playing console games in Escape From Duckov. You can secure it two ways: craft it after learning a blueprint gated behind J‑Lab’s Blue room, or loot it as a boss drop. Expect some RNG either way, but there’s a clear route to stack the odds in your favor.

Color Monitor paths at a glance

Method Where Prerequisites Notes
Crafting J‑Lab Blue room Blue Keycard The blueprint spawns here; plan to craft the monitor at the advanced workbench.
Loot drop Rampaging Arcade (boss) None beyond finding the encounter Has a chance to drop the Color Monitor; RNG applies.

Blueprint: Color Monitor (what it is and why you want it)

Learning the blueprint unlocks crafting at the advanced workbench, letting you bypass boss luck. The blueprint is a regular loot item you can extract, trade, and keep for future runs.

Field Value
Item name Blueprint: Color Monitor
Tier 6
Item ID 1094
Use Consumed at the advanced workbench to craft a Color Monitor
Tradable Yes
Market price ₽ 50
Weight 0.1 kg
Default stack 1
Note: the Blue room reliably gates the blueprint. The Color Monitor as a fully built item is not guaranteed to spawn there, so plan to craft.

Craft the Color Monitor (J‑Lab Blue room route)

  • Get a Blue Keycard. Without it, the J‑Lab Blue room won’t open.
  • Enter J‑Lab and head for the Blue room. Loot the “Blueprint: Color Monitor.” Extract safely.
  • Learn the blueprint, then use the advanced workbench to craft the Color Monitor.
Tip: treat the blueprint as your long‑term unlock. Once learned, you can craft future monitors without revisiting J‑Lab.

Where to get the Blue Keycard

  • Mine Manager (Farm Town, southeast gas station) — drops the Blue Keycard with low odds.
  • X/O secret rooms in Farm Town — check both secret rooms once you have the matching keys.
  • Mine boss — can also drop the Blue Keycard; plan runs that clear the mine after checking secret rooms.

Plan a loop: hit both Farm Town secret rooms early, then finish with a mine boss attempt to stack your chances in one raid.

Loot the Color Monitor from Rampaging Arcade

Rampaging Arcade can drop the Color Monitor outright. If you’d rather gamble on RNG than chase the keycard and craft, hunt this encounter and secure the extract.

  • Expect variability. The drop is not guaranteed, but it’s a direct path when it lands.
  • Keep an eye on arcade‑adjacent buildings in Farm Town; related console items frequently show up in that part of the map.

Other pieces for the console setup (where to look)

  • Console (“future console”): commonly found while questing in Farm Town; can roll in electronics‑leaning containers.
  • Controller: often spawns as loose loot in the supermarket near cash registers; also seen in a coffee shop with a blue mural near a register.
  • Game cartridges: multiple exist. Examples include “Duck Miner” (spotted on a table in J‑Lab’s screening room near the northern exfil), plus additional games that can appear in the same area.
  • Monitors (alt): a black‑and‑white monitor exists as a stopgap, but the Color Monitor is the goal for the full console experience.
Tip: the arcade building south of the Farm Town supermarket tends to be a strong cluster for consoles, cartridges, and other electronics like graphics cards. Routes anchored around these POIs help consolidate your search.

Simple decision flow

  • If you have the Blue Keycard: go straight to J‑Lab, loot the blueprint, and craft at the advanced workbench.
  • If you don’t have the Blue Keycard: farm Farm Town’s secret rooms and mine bosses for the keycard, or target Rampaging Arcade and try for the direct drop.
  • Fill in the rest of the kit on Farm Town errands: supermarket registers, the nearby coffee shop, and the arcade building are efficient stops for controllers, consoles, and cartridges.

The fastest consistent path is securing a Blue Keycard and locking in the blueprint for crafting. If you’re already raiding near arcade hotspots, boss farming can shortcut the process with a direct drop—just be ready for RNG. Either way, plan an extraction route before you engage; the monitor or blueprint isn’t worth losing to a late timer.
