Escape From Duckov save locations and Mac backup fix (Oct 2025)
Escape From DuckovFind your Windows and macOS save folders, restore Mac backups, and prevent cloud sync from wiping progress.
Some Mac players have reported missing progress in Escape From Duckov after a cloud sync. If your save still exists locally, you can protect it. If your save is already gone, there isn’t a way to recover that lost data, but you can still restore from the game’s Mac backup folder if it’s present and keep future saves safe.
Escape From Duckov save file locations (Windows and macOS)
| Platform | Folder path | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Windows | %appdata%/../locallow/teamsoda/duckov |
Saves are stored locally. |
| macOS (primary) | ~/Library/Application Support/TeamSoda/Duckov/ |
Main save folder for the game. |
| macOS (backup/fallback) | ~/Library/Application Support/com.Unity-Technologies.com.unity.template.urp-blank/Saves/ |

Fix: restore your Mac save from the backup folder
If your Mac progress isn’t showing up in the main folder, look for files in the backup location and copy them into the game’s save directory.
- Open the backup folder:
~/Library/Application Support/com.Unity-Technologies.com.unity.template.urp-blank/Saves/ - Copy the contents to the game’s save folder:
~/Library/Application Support/TeamSoda/Duckov/Saves/ - Launch the game to confirm your progress is restored.
Prevent Mac cloud sync from overwriting your save
If your Mac save is still intact, back it up before launching the game so a sync can’t overwrite it. Here’s the safe sequence:
- Open the primary save folder:
~/Library/Application Support/TeamSoda/Duckov/ - Copy the save files to a safe location (for example, your Desktop or external storage).
- Start the game and let Steam Cloud finish syncing.
- After the sync completes, close the game and copy your backed‑up files back into the same save folder.
This preserves your latest local progress even if the cloud attempts to replace it.
Windows: where to back up and restore
Windows saves are fully local. Back up the entire Duckov folder before making changes or adding mods.
%appdata%/../locallow/teamsoda/duckovMods can cause crashes or save errors; keeping a copy of this folder lets you roll back quickly if something goes wrong.
If your Mac save is already gone
There isn’t a method to recover progress that has already been deleted by sync. If you’re seeking a refund for lost progress or other issues, submit a request through the official Steam refunds process. You can start that here: Steam refunds.

The key takeaway: know where your saves live, copy them before launching on Mac, and use the backup folder to recover if your progress doesn’t appear. On Windows, everything is local under the locallow path, so backing up that directory before experimenting with mods or settings is the safest move.
