Escape Simulator 2 Cargo Hold — puzzle solutions

The Cargo Hold in The Lost Starship is a compact sequence of logic puzzles that feed into one goal: breach and unlock a mysterious alien sphere. You’ll repair a small artifact, break a keypad riddle, gain control-room access, power up a plasma cutter, and use a scissor lift to reach three high panels that each hide an artifact puzzle. Slot all artifacts to finish the room.

Repair the damaged artifact (Form Extraction)

Grab the Notepad and a Tablet from the crate near the Repair Station, then collect the Damaged Artifact and two more Tablets from and around the tall locker alcove. Place the artifact in the Repair Station and start the scan. Match each of the three faces to reference shapes using the station’s three sliders.

Exact slider positions that match the required shapes:

  • Front handle: set to the middle to form two sets of circles linked by lines.
  • Left handle: set to the top to create a sideways pentagon.
  • Right handle: set to the left side to form an upside-down triangle.

Confirm to repair the object.

Decode the locker keypad (The Glitch)

At the small locker wall, power the holographic keypad. Use the symbol hints to infer the missing numbers along the grid that increments from top-left to bottom-right. Enter the middle-locker code: 459. Press the triangle submit button to open it and take the Keycard.

Enter the Control Room (Administrator’s Access)

Use the Keycard on the Control Room door just below the locker wall.

Align the weak points and cut the shield (Cutting Edge)

Climb the ladder inside the Control Room and choose Scan Object on the console. You’ll see three triangular cutters you can rotate and resize. For each triangle, align it so it intersects all visible circular weak points on the sphere model. Cycle through all three triangles to cover every weak point, then activate the laser to cut the shield.

Fill the inspection grid correctly (Hazardous Materials)

Open the Cargo Inspection door behind you. Use the Hazardous Cargo Handling Protocols on the wall to place all crates so the red flow lines route without violating the rules. When the layout is correct, a Case on the platform opens with a Plasma Cutter and its Manual.

Restore cutter power (Optical Conduit)

Inspect the Plasma Cutter from the Case. You’ll see a left-to-right conduit where you can swap three wall tiles at the top and five path tiles at the bottom to clear a continuous line.

One working arrangement:

  • Blue rectangles (top three): Top, Top, Bottom.
  • Blue rectangles (middle three): Top, Middle.
  • Blue rectangles (bottom three): Bottom, Middle.
  • Red square order (left to right): upside-down goalpost, upward hook, leftward/downward hook, goalpost, rightward/downward hook.

When the conduit connects cleanly, the Plasma Cutter comes online and can cut metal welds.

Open the sphere’s first panel (Surface Breach)

Return to the sphere at floor level and cut the circular weld. Inside are four circular slots for small artifacts. You already repaired one; the remaining artifacts sit behind three high welded panels you’ll reach with the lift.

Solve the trade sectors lockbox (United Fleet)

Find the Trade Alliance Sector Manual in a tall locker. Nearby, a Trade Alliance lockbox lets you slide fleet emblems into sector regions depicted as a Venn diagram. Place each emblem into the sectors where that fleet operates. There’s only one combination that satisfies all overlaps. The lockbox opens with the Elevator Key.

Unlock the scissor lift (Elevation Gain)

Use the Elevator Key on the large garage door to access the mobile scissor lift.

Note: The lift moves slowly. Plan routes so you clear each high panel before riding back down.

Collect the three high-panel artifacts

Drive the lift to each high weld on the sphere and cut it. These three puzzles can be completed in any order.

  • Fly on the Wall: Four alien drones escape. Use the four camera buttons to view each drone’s feed and rotate the top display to scan for their hiding spots. Typical locations include:Return all four drones to the panel to receive an artifact.
    • Behind a crate near the small locker wall.
    • In front of crates by the ladder up to the Control Room.
    • Inside the scissor lift garage.
    • Floating high near the garage (use the lift to reach).
  • Circuit Switch: A logic board with circles and diamond sockets. Placing a diamond toggles the connected circle(s) on or off. Across three rounds, find the placements that leave all circles lit to earn an artifact.
  • Road Less Traveled: Watch symbols traverse the lower path to learn the rules:Apply those behaviors to the upper path, then route each symbol to its correct destination. Start with the four-arrow symbol, then proceed in order. Completing the sequence yields an artifact.
    • Symbols turn down the first available branch immediately.
    • Passing over a broken segment repairs one link.
    • Some branches need multiple passes to fully repair.

Finish the sphere (Key Artifact)

Place the four small artifacts into the sphere’s slots. When all are inserted, the sphere reacts and the room resolves.

Optional: all eight hidden token locations

  • Inside a large locker on the wall.
  • In the small locker wall: open locker 823 at the bottom-right.
  • Just outside the open Cargo Hold door, sitting in the right-side light.
  • Nestled in wiring near the Repair Station.
  • Control Room: under the hat on the console upstairs.
  • Control Room: behind the wall-mounted fire extinguisher upstairs.
  • Inside the scissor lift garage: check the Rules of Conduct poster.
  • On top of the light above the small locker wall (use the lift).

If you follow this sequence, you’ll minimize backtracking: repair the first artifact, get the Keycard, cut the shield, power the cutter, reveal the artifact slots, secure the Elevator Key, clear the three elevated puzzles, and slot all artifacts to complete the Cargo Hold.
