Escape Simulator 2 Darkest Puzzle 1‑3 — Sweet Dreams solution

Darkest Puzzle 1‑3 is the Sweet Dreams variant in the Dracula’s Castle set of Darkest Rooms. These optional challenges unlock after you complete the corresponding main room and are started from the large crystal in the lobby. This one reimagines the Sweet Dreams bookshelf dials without the reference book.

How the puzzle works

The book is gone, but the clue isn’t: the answer is embedded in the glossy puddle in front of the bookcase. In the reflection, each cluster of symbols hides a single Roman numeral. Read those numerals from left to right to set the four-number code on the dials.

Do not focus on the tiny tick marks or dial numbers in the reflection—the useful information is the Roman numerals hidden within the reflected symbol sets.

Clear solution

  • Stand where the puddle cleanly reflects the bookshelf panels. Center each symbol cluster in view.
  • Zoom if needed to make the reflected symbols crisp. If the reflection looks pixelated, reduce the game’s FOV in settings for a sharper view.
  • Identify the single Roman numeral embedded in each reflected cluster.
  • Set the four dials from left to right to match those numerals.

The correct input (left to right) is:

Dial position Number
1 (leftmost) 2
2 3
3 5
4 (rightmost) 6

Visibility tips if the reflection is hard to read

  • Use the middle mouse button to zoom for fine detail.
  • Lower the FOV temporarily to improve reflection clarity.
  • Shift your position slightly until the puddle shows a clean, undistorted view of each symbol cluster.

What’s next

Solving 1‑3 moves you toward finishing the Dracula’s Castle Darkest Rooms set; completing the set grants a premium Dracula outfit. If you’re working through in order, 1‑4 (Crypty) builds on reading mural symbol relationships with the Mysterious Eye.
