Every Character Linnea Talks About in Her Genshin Impact Voicelines

Linnea debuted as a playable 5-star Geo bow character in Genshin Impact's Luna VI update on April 8, 2026. As a changeling Fae working as an Adventurers' Guild advisor in Nod-Krai, her "About" voicelines paint a vivid picture of her relationships, quirks, and fears — while also teasing a character who hasn't appeared in the game yet.

Linnea's voiceline about Flins

Linnea and Flins share a bond as fellow Fae living among humans in Nod-Krai. Her voiceline reflects deep respect for him despite limited interaction:

"I feel like Mr. Flins has to be one of the most knowledgeable Fae out there. I haven't even spoken with him that much, but I learned a lot from the few conversations we've had."

It's a brief but telling line. Linnea openly displays her Fae wings while Flins shapeshifts into human form to blend in, so the two approach life among humans very differently. Still, she clearly values his wisdom.

Linnea's voiceline about Aino

Linnea and Aino go way back — both were members of the Conch Gang. The voiceline captures Linnea's affection for Aino alongside her deep discomfort around machinery:

"Oh, we were in the Conch Gang together, you know. Aino was such a cutie when she was little. Then at some point, she became all about her machines... Oh, uh, Aino's still pretty little, I guess — and still super cute. Her hobbies though? Not so much... Don't get me wrong, I totally support her no matter what she's into! It's just... I can't really handle being around moving machines... Probably something to do with me being a changeling."

This is one of the clearest explanations of Linnea's aversion to machines, which she attributes directly to her changeling nature. It's a recurring thread across multiple voicelines.

Linnea's voiceline about Ineffa

Linnea's line about Ineffa is one of the more comedic entries. She desperately wants to try Ineffa's krumkakes, but can't stop herself from fleeing whenever Ineffa approaches:

"I hear she makes the sweetest, most delicious krumkakes around. Sadly, I've never had a chance to try one, because I instinctively run away the moment she shows up... Even though I'm pretty sure she just wants to ask me a question. *sigh* Maybe next time I visit, I should get Aino to tie me to a chair so I can finally hear what she has to say, hehe..."

The "tie me to a chair" remark stands out as a particularly memorable bit of characterization, highlighting just how involuntary Linnea's flight response is around certain people.

Linnea's voiceline about Lauma

Linnea's fascination with non-human features — antlers, ears, tails — comes through strongly in her line about Lauma:

"Her antlers are so pretty... Once, I very politely asked her if I could touch them. She, uh, very politely refused. Turns out the Frostmoon Scions are even stricter than the Melusines..."

The mention of Melusines is notable. It confirms that Linnea has encountered Fontaine's Melusines at some point and apparently tried the same thing with them. The comparison suggests she's been politely shut down more than once.

Linnea's voiceline about Nefer

Linnea respects Nefer's competence as a member of the Curatorium of Secrets, but her real interest lies elsewhere:

"Anyone who's active in Nod-Krai is bound to end up crossing paths with the Curatorium of Secrets eventually. Miss Nefer is incredibly efficient — you won't find a more reliable partner than her. But I'm actually more interested in her cat than her intel. Ashru, oh Ashru... you are no ordinary kitty, that's for sure..."

Linnea's obsession with living creatures overrides everything else. Even in the middle of praising a spy's efficiency, she pivots to gushing about a cat she suspects is something more than ordinary.

Linnea's voiceline about Sandrone (Marionette)

This is arguably the most lore-significant voiceline in Linnea's set. It directly addresses Katheryne's origins and hints at Sandrone's potential return:

"I dunno if you knew this, but Katheryne from the Adventurers' Guild was actually created by the Fatui Harbinger, Marionette. Strangely enough, I don't feel any kind of aversion towards Katheryne, even though I usually can't handle moving machines... Must be something to do with the technology Marionette used — whatever that could be. Anyway, it's just as well, 'cause otherwise I'd have to get Sarin or someone else to pick up my commissions from the Guild for me. If I ever get the chance to meet Marionette, I owe her a huge thank-you!"

👀
The phrase "If I ever get the chance to meet Marionette" is phrased as a future possibility, not a memorial. Combined with Columbina's teapot lines that reference Sandrone as if she's alive, this strongly suggests Sandrone's story isn't over.

Sarin, the NPC Linnea mentions, can be found standing near Katheryne's desk in Nod-Krai. He is not playable. The voiceline also deepens the mystery of why Linnea's Fae-based machine aversion doesn't trigger around Katheryne — implying Sandrone's craftsmanship made her creation indistinguishable from a living being, at least to Fae senses.

Linnea's voiceline about Illuga

Linnea's line about the young Lightkeeper squad leader is tinged with embarrassment:

"He's pretty young for a squad leader in the Lightkeepers. Must be a pretty talented guy. Unfortunately, we met under slightly chaotic circumstances, so I probably didn't make a great impression... I really hope he'll still let me do the archive entry for Aedon..."

The "chaotic circumstances" likely refer to Linnea's habit of jumping on interesting creatures. Illuga has noted elsewhere that his messenger bird Aedon became instinctively afraid of Linnea after their first meeting.

Linnea's voiceline about Vodyanitsa

The most forward-looking voiceline teases a character who has not yet appeared in-game:

"Audiences at the opera house go crazy for her, completely unaware that all they're hearing is the echo of the ocean waves. I'm sure she has her reasons... but I can sense an allure hidden deep within her singing voice that, if ever unleashed, would bewitch everyone within earshot and sentence them to certain doom!"

Vodyanitsa is the Prima Soprano of the Korolevskiy Troupe in Snezhnaya. She was the character who provided the quote for Linnea's official drip marketing post, establishing a connection between the two before Linnea even launched. The name "Vodyanitsa" derives from Slavic folklore — etymologically meaning "female water spirit" — and is closely related to concepts like the Rusalka, a supernatural water creature known in some traditions for luring people with song. Linnea's description of a bewitching voice capable of bringing doom aligns with the siren archetype that Snezhnaya's lore has been building around its rare Fae types.

🎭
Vodyanitsa has not been confirmed as playable, but characters mentioned in "About" voicelines have historically gone on to become playable units. No official release window has been announced for her.

Notable absences

Linnea does not have voicelines about several characters you might expect, including her elder sister Celaeno, Columbina, Jahoda, or Paimon. For a character described as a well-traveled adventurer, the voiceline set is tightly focused on Nod-Krai locals and the Snezhnayan tease, with no lines referencing characters from other regions.

Taken together, Linnea's voicelines reinforce her core personality traits — an irrepressible love of living creatures, an involuntary fear of machines, and a naturalist's eye for things that aren't quite what they seem. The Sandrone and Vodyanitsa lines in particular carry weight for the game's broader narrative, pointing toward story threads that are still unfolding as Genshin Impact moves deeper into its Snezhnaya arc.
