Cursed techniques define your entire combat identity in Jujutsu Zero. You can equip two at once, and since they're obtained through the Lumen-based gacha system, knowing which ones are worth chasing — and which to replace immediately — saves you from wasting currency on dead-end rolls. The meta has shifted since the January 2026 Mythical Beast Amber update and the addition of clan-specific technique buffs, so the rankings below reflect the current state of play.
Quick answer: Disaster Tides and Mythical Beast Amber sit at the top of the meta right now, followed closely by Shrine, Limitless, and Disaster Flames. Exploding Flesh is the worst technique in the game and should be replaced as soon as possible.

Jujutsu Zero Cursed Technique Tier List
| Tier | Cursed Techniques |
|---|---|
| SS | Disaster Tides, Mythical Beast Amber |
| S | Shrine, Limitless, Disaster Flames |
| A | Blood Manipulation, Star Rage |
| B | Ratio |
| C | Straw Doll, Cursed Speech |
| D | Exploding Flesh |
Rankings are based on overall DPS across PvE grinding, raid performance on all difficulties, PvP viability, move speed, AoE coverage, and how well each technique combos with a second equipped CT. Rarer techniques generally outperform lower-grade ones, but build synergy and skill tree choices can push certain A-tier picks into competitive territory.

SS Tier — Disaster Tides and Mythical Beast Amber
Disaster Tides is currently the strongest all-around cursed technique in Jujutsu Zero. Its skills activate faster than Shrine or Limitless equivalents and deal higher raw damage. Flooding Jet fires a multi-hit water beam, Downstream Beam stuns enemies with an overhead water strike, Upstream traps foes in bubbles and launches them airborne, and Geyser Barrage sends a massive wave across long distances for devastating AoE. The cooldowns are shorter than most high-rarity techniques, making it excellent for sustained DPS in raids. The main weakness is that some skills can be difficult to aim against mobile PvP targets, and the raw damage ceiling doesn't quite match Shrine's burst potential.

Mythical Beast Amber — added in the January 2026 update — occupies the same bracket. Every skill is fast, hits hard in AoE, and has solid range. Shock fires a forward lightning strike, Bolt Surge launches a ball of lightning for line AoE, Fusion Point sends two lightning orbs toward your cursor for massive AoE, and Beast Bomb generates an enormous circular lightning field that deals multi-hit damage. The drop chance is low, so expect to farm a significant amount of Lumens. Pairing it with the Kashimo clan grants bonus ATK (+60) and DR (+10%), making that combination particularly potent.

S Tier — Shrine, Limitless, and Disaster Flames
Shrine has the highest burst damage of any technique in the game. Cleave offers fast, long-range slashes ideal for raids, while Dismantle extends combos in all modes. Web Slam provides strong AoE for PvE farming, and Fuga fires a ranged beam of fire that lets you kite bosses safely when your health is low. With a full Offense tree crit damage build — especially paired with the Sukuna clan, which grants +50% ATK, +25% CR, +85% CD, and specific Shrine buffs — it can outdamage Limitless in raw numbers. It does not yet have a Domain Expansion, though one may arrive in a future update.

Limitless remains the only cursed technique with a Domain Expansion: Unlimited Void. This ability permanently stuns NPCs and massively slows players, giving it unmatched crowd control and utility. Reversal Red is a fast AoE burst useful in every mode. Lapse Blue pulls enemies together for PvE farming and 1v1 setups. Maximum Blue works well in PvP and farming. Hollow Purple delivers excellent burst with great range and AoE. To unlock the Domain Expansion, you need Domain Shards from Raid Chests and must reach Mastery 100 on Limitless before purchasing it in the Techniques menu. You do not need the Gojo clan to use Limitless, though Gojo does provide substantial technique-specific buffs.

Disaster Flames is a pure DPS moveset that excels in raids and PvE farming. Molten Ray is easy to land from range for consistent, safe damage. Flame Fields creates fast AoE explosions around you. Meteor Smash rains volcanic meteors that work well against bosses, but are hard to hit in PvP due to startup time. Maximum Meteor deals enormous damage in a wide area. With a full crit rate and crit damage skill tree, Disaster Flames can reach S-tier or even higher damage output, though it lacks the utility and combo versatility of Shrine and Limitless.

A Tier — Blood Manipulation and Star Rage
Blood Manipulation is the best non-Special Grade technique. Blood Rain is a quick AoE skill with good range. Blood Orbs deal strong damage at a safe distance, though you must channel them in place. Blood Whip hits hard but has a long startup that leaves you exposed. The real standout is Piercing Blood, a high-speed projectile that pierces through enemies and pushes the technique close to S-tier. Overall, Blood Manipulation is excellent for raids and PvE, but harder to play effectively in PvP due to the stationary channeling on some moves. It pairs well with Shrine as a second CT.

Star Rage is a jack-of-all-trades technique with good range on every skill. Bullet, Punch, and Black Hole all let you damage bosses from a safe distance on Hard and Nightmare raids while kiting. You can even use Black Hole while airborne during retreats. Star Rage won't outdamage the S-tier options, but it's one of the safest and most consistent picks for players who struggle with raid survival. It pairs well with Limitless.

B Tier — Ratio
Ratio is the best low-rarity cursed technique. Fraction comes out fast for AoE damage, Dividing Lunge provides mobility with decent damage, and Split Barrage adds more AoE and movement options. The fast hitboxes and low cooldowns make Ratio surprisingly strong in PvP, where it arguably outperforms Blood Manipulation. For raids, it functions better as a secondary support CT. Ratio is the best beginner technique and remains useful as a second slot even in late-game builds.

C Tier — Straw Doll and Cursed Speech
Straw Doll deals decent damage and lets you attack from a distance with Nail Gun, a fast three-bullet shot that works as a combo extender. Piercing Rain provides farming AoE but requires channeling, making it weak for PvP and raids. Resonance can deal good damage, but is easy to interrupt. It's a beginner-oriented technique that leans toward PvE and falls off sharply against higher-grade content.

Cursed Speech has low cooldowns and two AoE moves — Move, Crumble, and Combust — but the damage output is poor, and the crowd control duration is very short on most skills. It functions only as a secondary support CT for beginners and should be replaced once you roll anything better.
D Tier — Exploding Flesh
Exploding Flesh is the weakest technique in Jujutsu Zero. Atomic Press is a fast but underwhelming AoE attack. Flesh Firebomb throws a grenade with mediocre AoE damage. Final Trick creates a circular explosion around you but actually deals damage to the user, which is a significant drawback. The DPS is the lowest of any CT. Replace it the moment you roll anything else.
Best Cursed Technique Combos
Since you can equip two techniques simultaneously, pairing matters. Shrine and Limitless is the classic top-tier combination — Shrine handles raw burst damage while Limitless provides crowd control through its Domain Expansion. Blood Manipulation pairs well with Shrine for sustained raid damage. Star Rage works effectively alongside Limitless for safe ranged DPS. Ratio serves as a strong secondary option with virtually any primary technique thanks to its fast cooldowns and mobility.
How to Get Cursed Techniques
Cursed techniques are obtained by spinning on the CT gacha banner, accessed through the star-shaped icon in the top-left menu. Each spin costs Lumens. Different banners offer boosted rates for specific Special Grade techniques.
There are several ways to farm Lumens. Exploring the map and opening chests can yield 3,500+ Lumens per chest, though they don't respawn. Going AFK for 20 minutes sends you to the AFK Realm, where you accumulate reward spins that can drop Lumens. Raids on any difficulty award Lumens, with the special grade pity costing 70,000 Lumens — roughly 700 Easy Raids, 350 Hard Raids, or 234 Nightmare Raids. You can also convert Yen to Lumens at the Lumen Merchant NPC at a rate of 100 Yen per Lumen, though this isn't recommended early on since you'll need Yen for Mastery unlocks.

Skill Tree Priority for Cursed Techniques
For most techniques, invest roughly 90% of your skill points into the Offense tree for ATK nodes, since this boosts all damage output. Vitality is a good secondary for HP and damage reduction in raids. Once you can comfortably survive Easy and Medium raids, branching into Cursed Energy and Cooldown nodes becomes worthwhile. The notable exception is Disaster Flames, which reaches its highest potential with a full crit rate and crit damage skill tree rather than a standard Offense build.
Jujutsu Zero is still in beta, and the developers have been adding new techniques and rebalancing existing ones at a steady pace. The Mythical Beast Amber update in January 2026 and the clan-specific technique buff system both shifted the meta significantly, so expect further changes as new content arrives. For now, prioritize Disaster Tides or Mythical Beast Amber if you can roll them, and keep the Shrine-plus-Limitless combo as your reliable fallback.
