Crimson Desert's open world is enormous, and regular mounts only get you so far. Legendary mounts offer dramatically better speed, durability, or combat support — but each one requires you to track down a specific creature, defeat or tame it, and then craft a summoning Sigil through the Witch system. Eight legendary mounts exist in the game right now, spread across horses, bears, wolves, deer, a warthog, and an alpine ibex tied to boss encounters.
Quick answer: The easiest legendary mount to grab early is Royler, a white horse found near Snowgrass Hearth in Pailune. For combat companions, the White Bear and Silver Fang are the strongest options. All non-horse legendary mounts require defeating the creature, skinning it for a unique item, and taking that item to a Witch to craft a Sigil.

Legendary horses — Royler, Rokade, and Camora
The three legendary horses are tamed through the standard horse-taming minigame rather than killed and crafted into Sigils. Each one specializes in a different stat profile, so ideally, you want all three in your stable for different situations.
Royler (white horse) — Fastest mount in the game
Royler has Level 4 movement speed compared to Level 3 on both Rokade and Camora, plus the highest stamina bar of any horse. It also unlocks a unique skill called Consecutive Instant Acceleration at Level 5, which no other horse gets. This is the earliest legendary mount you can acquire and the single biggest quality-of-life upgrade for exploration.
You'll find Royler wandering with a small group of normal horses near the frozen pond at Snowgrass Hearth, just below the letter "P" on the Pailune region label. The snowy climate drains your stamina during the taming minigame, so equip a cloak with ice resistance — a piece of the Frostcursed Armor set works well. You'll also want at least four to six points invested in Stamina before attempting the tame. During the minigame, hold backward on the stick (or S on keyboard) and keep your camera centered behind the horse rather than following the on-screen prompts literally.

Rokade (black horse) — The tank
Rokade has nearly double Royler's health pool, making it the mount least likely to get killed under you during horseback combat. You can find it near the pool to the west of the Spire of Insight in southern Hernand. The temperate climate means no environmental resistance gear is needed, and the taming minigame is noticeably easier than Royler's. Rokade is a jet-black horse that stands out clearly from any wild horses nearby. If it doesn't appear when you arrive, clear any nearby enemies and walk 200–300 meters away before returning.
Camora (red horse) — Offensive combat mount
Camora boasts the highest attack and defense stats of the three legendary horses, making it the best pick if you actively use mounted kick attacks during fights. It's located in the Redtree Forest, a flower-filled cavern meadow in the rainforest region south of the Crimson Desert map. The area sits far southeast of Tommaso, east of the Sanctum of Renunciation, and west of the Red River. If you haven't uncovered this part of the map yet, ring the bell in Tommaso for the Toll of Pywel quest to reveal the region. Try to lure Camora into open ground before starting the tame — the tight cavern walls can pin your camera and make the minigame nearly impossible.

White Bear — The best combat mount for raw power
The White Bear is a polar bear that actively mauls enemies during combat, functioning as a fighting companion rather than just transportation. The trade-off is reduced mobility compared to horses or wolves. To get it, you need access to Witches, which unlocks as you progress through the story.
Step 1: Travel to the far northwestern region of Pailune, north of Five-Finger Mountain. The fastest route is to teleport to the Abyss Nexus southeast of the White Wastes Sanctuary. If you haven't unlocked that fast travel point, head to the Abyss Nexus west of Thalwynd in Hernand and travel north along the path toward Five-Finger Mountain. When you hit the out-of-bounds area, you'll be teleported near Whisperleaf Fortress Hearth — continue northwest to White Wastes Sanctuary and use your Lantern or Blinding Flash to reveal the Abyss Nexus.

Step 2: From the Abyss Nexus, look southwest for a snow-covered slope about 100 meters away. The White Bear roams this area with its cubs. Equip at least Level 5 Ice Resistance gear — the Frostcursed Plate Cloak is a straightforward option. Bring high-healing food as a safety net.
Step 3: Fight the White Bear by dodging its claw swipes and landing heavy and light attacks. It's tanky but not mechanically complex. Avoid getting grabbed, as the pin attack deals significant damage.
Step 4: After defeating it, skin the bear to receive White Bear Claws. Take these to any Witch in Pywel to craft the summoning Sigil.

Silver Fang — Fast and aggressive wolf mount
Silver Fang is a giant white wolf that fights alongside you in combat, offering more speed and damage output than the White Bear at the cost of some tankiness. Getting Silver Fang requires a prerequisite quest.
Step 1: Complete the Legendary Wolf quest in Hernand. This is mandatory — Silver Fang will not spawn without it.

Step 2: Head to the Howling Hollow cave and defeat the entire wolf pack inside.
Step 3: Skin Silver Fang for its unique drop and take it to a Witch to craft the Sigil.

Rock Tusk Warthog — Charge attack specialist
The Rock Tusk Warthog lets you perform a devastating charge attack while riding, which is both effective and satisfying. It originally belongs to Ravok of the Savage Fangs, a boss NPC.
Travel to the camp near the Red River on the middle-right portion of the map. Ravok and his henchmen occupy the area. Defeat the boss, claim the warthog's unique item, and craft the Sigil through a Witch.

Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex — Mountain terrain mount
The Alpine Ibex is a large mountain goat that excels on rocky terrain. It can perform back-kick and charge attacks, though it's not ideal as a primary combat companion. Getting it requires significant story progression.
You need to defeat Moren, the Mistwood Huntmaster, near the Wayward Woods. Moren only appears during Chapter 8, and only after you've completed both the Pailune Militia and Skoghorn Tribe faction quests to unlock the Longleaf Tribe. This is one of the later legendary mounts you'll realistically obtain.

How to craft and summon any legendary mount
Every non-horse legendary mount follows the same crafting pipeline once you have the creature's unique drop item.
Step 1: Bring the item (such as White Bear Claws) to any Witch found around Pywel.
Step 2: Speak to the Witch and select "Craft Abyss Gear." Navigate to the "Special Items" tab and select the Sigil note tied to your mount.

Step 3: Open your Inventory and use the "Sigil of..." note to unlock the summoning ability.
Step 4: Open the Character Radial Menu (Up on the D-Pad for PlayStation and Xbox) and select the mount you want to summon. You'll know it worked when the mount appears, and you can ride it immediately.
Recommended order for collecting legendary mounts
If you're optimizing your playthrough, grab Royler first — it's accessible early, and the speed boost transforms exploration for the rest of the game. Rokade makes a strong second pick once you start encountering more horseback combat. The White Bear or Silver Fang should come next, depending on whether you prefer tankiness or agility in your combat companion. The Rock Tusk Warthog, Camora, and Alpine Ibex can wait until you naturally reach their respective regions or meet the story prerequisites.
All legendary mounts are permanent once obtained. Horses join your stable and can be switched freely at any saddler NPC. Sigil-based mounts are summoned through the radial menu at any time. None of them can be permanently lost — if a mount falls in battle, you can revive it through an Equine Tonic, the stable's "Recover" option, or the Force Palm skill.
