Roblox Abyss drops you into an underwater world split across three main island biomes — each protected by a safe dome — plus a fourth endgame zone that only unlocks after a lengthy quest chain. Between the domes lies an open ocean filled with hidden NPCs, secret caves, and 15 rubber ducks you'll need to track down if you want one of the game's quirkiest weapons. Here's where everything is and what it does.
Quick answer: The four regions are Forgotten Deep (starter), Ancient Sands (mid-game), Spirit Roots (late-game), and Angler Cave (endgame, level 35+). You can purchase the in-game minimap from Crazy Jeff in Ancient Sands to reveal them all.

Forgotten Deep — The Starter Dome
Forgotten Deep is where every player begins after the opening cutscene. The Kraken sits at the center of the dome and serves as the primary quest giver, teaching core mechanics like fishing, selling, and upgrading while paying out enough cash to fund your first gear purchases. Completing the Kraken's full quest line also awards your first Fish Ruin key.
Virelia stands behind a glowing purple cauldron nearby. She opens geodes you find while fishing, which yield artifacts with randomized stat boosts. Geodes obtained in Forgotten Deep are Mossy Geodes, and they take 60 seconds to crack open (30 with the gamepass). Artifacts from this pool range from the common Banana and Sea Star up to the legendary Holy Flower.

David's Tube Shop is to the right of Virelia. Tubes are your primary survival and transport gear — they determine oxygen capacity, speed, depth limit, and carry weight. The best tube David sells is the Pufferfish Tube at $2,850, and you'll need it before venturing to the other two islands.

Richard's Bestiary sits next to the Tube Shop. Every time you catch a new fish species, you can log it here to earn star shards, the currency used for rerolling your race. Richard also sells the Fish Radar for $450, which displays the name and mutation of nearby fish.

Henry and the Crab occupy the Harpoon Shop right beside Richard. Henry sells guns — your main tool for catching fish faster — while the Crab NPC on the counter triggers a secret quest once you bring it the hidden Crab Scroll from Ancient Sands.

The Scientist manages the teleportation device. To activate it, you need to find three materials scattered around the Forgotten Deep dome. Once repaired, the teleporter lets you fast-travel between all discovered safe zones for a small fee.

Billy leans against a blue storage container and runs the portable stash, which is shared across all three islands. You can pay him to expand your storage capacity over time. Mr. Black stands right next to Billy and sells oxygen pods and speed potions on a 44-second rotating stock timer. He also offers a handful of side quests.

Ancient Sands — Mid-Game Progression Hub
To reach Ancient Sands, head behind Richard's Bestiary and travel straight through the tunnel. You'll find a cave behind a waterfall containing the safe zone. Tubes with a depth limit of 180m to 275m are recommended; the Pufferfish Tube is the minimum requirement to get here.

Crazy Jeff sits behind the counter inside the cave, selling oxygen pods, the Wasted Gun, Sea Mines, potions, and — critically — the Minimap. Buying the map from Jeff is the only way to unlock the in-game map display. A teleporter and portable stash are also located in front of his counter.

Marcus stands outside the dome near a massive fish skeleton, flanked by two archaeologists named Naomi and Noah. He sells the Boat Tube and Crossbow Gun, though neither is essential for progression. The Wasted Gun and Zepline Tube are stronger picks at this stage. Marcus also gives you a burger that you'll need to hand to Grumpy Hank.

The Suspicious Fisher perches on top of a slim pillar to the right of the dome exit, reading a book. He mentions Captain Rowan's treasure and offers a well-paying side quest.

Grumpy Hank — half crab, half human — lounges on a couch inside a tower to the right of the safe area. After you deliver Marcus's burger, Hank opens a series of quests that are among the best money-makers in the game, rewarding potions and oxygen shards alongside cash. Fishing in Ancient Sands also yields Cactus Geodes, which take 180 seconds to open (90 with gamepass) and contain artifacts up to the mythical Infernal Eye.

Spirit Roots — Late-Game Zone
Spirit Roots lies northeast of Forgotten Deep. You'll need a tube with a depth limit of 375m to 460m — the Rukiry Tube or Zepline Tube will get you there. Look for a small circular gate with three orbs on top; entering it saves the checkpoint and gives you access to the local teleporter.
Lumi is a cat spirit standing opposite the teleporter. She gives a single food-gathering quest. On either side of Lumi, you can purchase the Oxy Tube and Magroot Gun, both late-game upgrades.

Isolde occupies the room next to Lumi. She's a gentle spirit who assigns three fish-collection quests. Completing all three shatters the barrier behind her, revealing Victor's room.

Victor offers seven quests involving fish, geodes, moss, and chests. Rewards include money, shards, potions, and oxygen pods. The Lost Spirit Tube and Lost Spirit Gun are displayed on either side of him.

The Golem is found by taking a left turn before the safe dome and traveling through a tunnel. It asks you to bring fish and open Rooted Geodes — the Spirit Roots geode variant, which can drop artifacts up to the mythical Wraith Flower.

Isaac sits on top of the safe dome. He tells a story about his pet sunfish and the sharks that killed him, and offers a few quests with cash and item rewards.
King Cat is hidden deep in the Spirit Roots caves. Enter the tunnel to the left before the safe dome, follow the glowing blue plants, pass the shark-spawning area, and use your minimap to locate a hidden chest area. To the left of that chest, you can walk through a fake wall into the King Cat's lair. Completing its single quest rewards the King's Fortune artifact, which boosts cash gain, speed, and cooldown reduction.

Angler Cave — Endgame Content
The Angler Cave is the fourth and final zone currently in the game. It unlocks only after completing the Lost Captain's entire quest chain. The Lost Captain is found directly east of Forgotten Deep, near a broken ship in the ocean depths, and his first quest requires level 35.
Inside the Angler Cave, the Lightkeeper NPC waits in an air pocket. He assigns a single quest, and completing it awards the Ruined Lantern artifact. The cave is also home to the King Anglerfish, one of the rarest catches in the game.

Ocean NPCs — Diver, Morveth, Bob, and the Lost Captain
The open ocean connecting all three islands contains several important NPCs that don't belong to any specific dome.
The Diver sits near the Forgotten Deep dome. Head straight out from the leaderboard area to find him. He offers 10 delivery quests, and completing them unlocks the ability to purchase the Zepline Tube and Plane Tube displayed on either side of him.

Morveth hides in a cave behind a waterfall, accessible by heading right and downward from the Diver. You'll need at least the Zepline Tube. Morveth — identifiable by the crow on his arm — assigns quests involving fish catches and leveling up. Finishing his full chain unlocks the Morveth Gun.

Bob is behind a small metal door in a rock structure outside the Forgotten Deep dome, past David's Tube Shop. Knock on the door, and he'll ask for 15 rubber ducks. Deliver all 15, and you gain access to buy the Plunger Gun.
All 15 Rubber Duck Locations
Collecting every rubber duck is the only way to interact with Bob and purchase the Plunger Gun. They're spread across every area in the game.

Crab Scroll — Secret Quest Trigger
The Crab Scroll is hidden in a secret cave in Ancient Sands. Teleport there, head toward Grumpy Hank's tower, and look for a cave at the base of the steep cliff behind it. There are no safe zones inside, so bring oxygen pods. Follow the tunnel to a hidden room where a Crab statue holds the scroll. Take it back to the Crab NPC in Henry's Harpoon Shop at Forgotten Deep to start the Crab's quest chain. Completing the full chain — which also requires opening all Fish Ruins — rewards the Crab Claw artifact, one of the strongest in the game, with up to +29% Oxygen, -0.28s Cooldown, and +19% Cash.

All Seven Fish Ruin Locations
Fish Ruins are locked miniature cave structures, each containing a loot chest. Keys drop from specific NPC quest completions — the first comes from the final Kraken quest. Opening all seven is required for the second Crab quest and the Crab Claw artifact.

Best Areas for Farming Money
Ancient Sands and Spirit Roots are the most profitable fishing zones. Bigmouthfish, Sharks, Whales, and Dragonfish all spawn in these regions and sell for significantly more than anything available in Forgotten Deep. Pairing Grumpy Hank's quest rewards with high-value catches in these areas is the fastest way to build up cash for late-game tubes and guns.
