Every Magic in Mashle Academy, Ranked for March 2026

Mashle Academy is a Roblox RPG built around the Mashle: Magic and Muscles anime, and the magic you choose shapes everything about how you play. Each magic comes with a three-move kit that defines your combo potential, crowd control, survivability, and pressure in both PvP and PvE. Not all magics are created equal, though, and picking the wrong one can slow your progression or leave you outmatched in competitive fights.

Quick answer: Timez is the single best magic in Mashle Academy right now. Its time-freeze crowd control enables devastating combos and even lets you negate lethal attacks. If you're rerolling for one magic, that's the one to chase.

Mashle Academy Magic Tier List (March 2026)

The rankings below reflect current PvP viability and high-level PvE performance. Rarity does not determine power in Mashle Academy — some Common magics outperform Rare ones when played well, and even Legendary magics can underperform if their kits don't suit the meta. That said, certain magics consistently rise to the top across skill levels.

TierMagicsGeneral Strength
STimezBest-in-class crowd control, combo chaining, and defensive utility
ADarkness, Muscles, Partisans, SpacesStrong, versatile kits that hold up in competitive play
BCharm, Graviole, Ice, Lightning, Sands, SoundsSolid but lack the edge of higher tiers
CFire, Roks, Tornegus, WatersBeginner-friendly but struggle in advanced fights

No magic currently falls into a true D tier — everything is at least functional, especially once you invest in Magic Mastery. But the gap between S tier and C tier is significant enough that rerolling is worth considering if you're serious about PvP.

S Tier — Timez

Timez sits alone at the top for good reason. Freezing an opponent in place opens up free combo windows that no other magic can replicate, and the ability to effectively cancel incoming lethal damage gives it a defensive layer most offensive magics lack entirely. In high-level play, Timez users control the pace of every fight. The magic pairs exceptionally well with burst-damage builds — a Timez + Demon race + Heian clan setup, for example, can delete opponents before they can react.

A Tier — Darkness, Muscles, Partisans, Spaces

Darkness applies relentless offensive pressure that forces opponents into defensive play. Its kit rewards aggression and punishes passive opponents, making it one of the strongest picks for players who like to stay on the front foot.

Muscles takes a different approach. It's a physical-oriented magic that becomes extremely oppressive when paired with the Burnedead clan, creating a build that can bully opponents in close quarters. Muscles was one of the earliest top-tier magics and still holds up well.

Partisans and Spaces round out the A tier with versatile movesets. Both offer strong utility alongside respectable damage, giving them flexibility across different matchups and team compositions.

B Tier — Functional but Not Dominant

The B-tier magics all have usable kits that can work in the right hands, but they lack the raw power or unique utility that pushes the top-tier options ahead.

MagicNotes
CharmHeart projectile petrifies targets, offering decent crowd control but limited combo follow-up
GravioleGravity manipulation with knockup and pull abilities — good disruption, lower damage ceiling
IceServiceable kit but doesn't excel in any particular area
LightningThunder Flash gap-closer and Gamma Counter parry give it some PvP tools, but inconsistent overall
SandsWorkable in PvE, less effective against skilled PvP opponents
SoundsTethering and anti-cast abilities are interesting but situational — Howling Sounds punishes ability use, which is strong in theory but hard to capitalize on

Any of these can perform well with high Magic Mastery and a complementary race and clan setup, but you'll generally need to work harder for the same results an A-tier magic delivers more naturally.

C Tier — Beginner-Friendly, Competitively Weak

Fire and Waters are the go-to recommendations for new players. Their kits are straightforward and teach fundamental combat mechanics like timing, positioning, and skill combos. Waters, in particular, has a useful stamina drain effect that can catch opponents off guard. However, both fall off sharply in advanced fights where opponents know how to counter their predictable patterns.

Roks and Tornegus round out the bottom of the current roster. Neither offers enough damage, utility, or combo potential to justify using them over higher-tier alternatives once you have access to rerolls.

💡
C-tier magics are not useless. They work fine for learning the game and clearing early PvE content. But if you plan to push into ranked PvP or harder PvE encounters, rerolling to at least a B-tier magic will make a noticeable difference.

Magic Rarity Doesn't Equal Power

Mashle Academy distributes magics across three rarity tiers: Common (89% drop rate), Rare (10%), and Legendary (1%). Unlike clans, where Legendary options tend to be strictly better, magic rarity is a poor indicator of actual strength. Waters is a Common magic that can outperform some Rare options in specific matchups, and the overall viability of any magic improves dramatically as you level up its Magic Mastery.

Magic Mastery increases the potency of your Magic Power stat and strengthens status effects, extends durations, and boosts damage output. A magic that feels weak at low Mastery can become a completely different tool once fully invested. Keep this in mind before writing off a magic you've just obtained.

How Magic Fits Into Your Full Build

Magic is only one piece of the puzzle. Your race, clan, traits, and gear all contribute to your overall effectiveness, and the best builds combine complementary elements across all of these systems. A lower-tier magic paired with an S-tier race and clan can still outperform a poorly supported S-tier magic.

Build ComponentImpact on Magic
RaceAdds defensive tools or offensive combo extensions (e.g., Demon race feeds into burst combos)
ClanProvides stat bonuses and passive effects that amplify your magic's strengths
TraitsBuffs like Energetic (stamina), Healthy (HP), and Guarded (posture) affect how long you survive to use your magic
Magic MasteryDirectly scales magic damage, status duration, and overall effectiveness

For example, Muscles magic becomes significantly more threatening when combined with the Burnedead clan, which synergizes with its physical-damage focus. Similarly, Timez paired with Demon race and Heian clan creates one of the most feared burst-damage setups in the current meta.

Rerolling Your Magic

If you're stuck with a magic you don't want, you can reroll it. There are two paths: farming Gold Coins through progression, ranking up, and redeeming codes, or purchasing rerolls with Robux. The developers frequently distribute free rerolls through gift codes, so it's worth checking for active codes before spending currency.

⚠️
Before rerolling, make sure your race and clan are sorted first. A strong race and clan foundation will carry you even with a mid-tier magic, while a great magic on a weak foundation will still feel underwhelming.

Magic Canes — The Top-Player Bonus

Each magic has its own leaderboard, and the top 10 players for any given magic earn the title of Magic Cane. Reaching this rank grants a special pet, a glowing username on player lists, a +50 increase to your Magic Mastery hard cap, and a unique transformation. It's a long-term goal, but it means that even less popular magics have a competitive incentive — fewer players using a C-tier magic means less competition for its leaderboard spots.

The magic meta in Mashle Academy shifts with each balance update, and the developers continue adding new magics over time. For now, Timez remains the clear frontrunner, with Darkness, Muscles, Partisans, and Spaces forming a strong second tier. If you're just starting out, don't stress too much about landing the perfect magic on your first roll — focus on learning combat fundamentals, and reroll once you understand what playstyle suits you best.
