Poppy Playtime Chapter 5: Broken Things, developed by Mob Entertainment and released on February 18, 2026, gates a critical story progression point behind three collectible Memory chips. While traveling toward Reanimation, you'll enter a room containing a large googly-eyed machine and a locked door that demands a six-digit code. That code only appears after you find all three Memories, insert them into the machine's terminals, and view each one from inside the pod.
Quick answer: Collect the three Memory chips scattered across the area — one on the ground in front of the machine, one inside a ship-model room accessed through a valve puzzle and burner explosion, and one on a desk in the Conditioning department's upstairs office — then insert all three into the terminals, step into the pod, pull the lever, and read the unique six-digit code displayed on the machine's screen.

What Memories Are and How They Work
Memories are electronic chips that store recordings of Playtime Co. victims' experiences. Three of them are hidden around the area near the googly-eyed machine. Each chip must be placed into one of the reader terminals in the machine room. You can view them one at a time as you find them, or collect all three first and then watch them back-to-back — the order doesn't matter. The door code will only appear on the machine's display after all three have been played.
One important detail worth noting early: the six-digit code the machine generates is unique to each playthrough. You cannot copy someone else's code from a screenshot or video. You must actually complete the puzzle yourself.

First Memory Chip Location
The first chip is impossible to miss. It's sitting on the ground directly in front of the googly-eyed machine. Pick it up and slot it into any of the available terminals. That's it — no puzzle required for this one.
Second Memory Chip — Valve Puzzle and Ship Room
Leave the machine room, head into the corridor, and take the blue door to the right. You'll find yourself in a hallway covered in Poppy Gel. Look for a blue door on the left side with a Hand Scanner. Use your Blue Hand to open it and enter the puzzle room.

Step 1: Switch Glowby to Blacklight mode immediately. Inspect the red valves scattered around the room — each one has a shape drawn next to it that's only visible under the Blacklight.
Step 2: Head up the metallic staircase and turn right toward the open area. On the wall to the right, you'll find the shapes arranged in a specific order. Memorize this sequence.

Step 3: Activate the four valves in the exact order shown on the wall. After turning the final valve, pull the lever beside it. This ventilates the red smoke out of a room upstairs that contains the ship model — and the second Memory chip.
Step 4: Go back upstairs and head into the left corridor. At the end, you'll find a destroyed room blocked by debris. Use your GrabPack to reach through and grab the handle of the red door on the far side. This reveals a fire panel. Charge your Conductive Hand with the fire element.
Step 5: Enter the room on the left where a burner station sits. Turn the station's valve until gas begins to flow, then touch the gas stream with your fire-charged Conductive Hand. The resulting explosion shatters a beaker and cracks the window at the back of the room.
Step 6: Use your Pressure Hand to break through the cracked window. Climb into the ship-model room and pick up the second Memory chip.

Third Memory Chip — Conditioning Department Projectors
Return to the corridor outside the machine room. Shimmy through the tight space to the left of the stacked boxes. Use the Blue Hand on the scanner to open the double doors and enter the Conditioning department.
Step 1: Once through the blue double doors, turn left immediately and go down the left corridor. Enter the middle room to find an electricity panel. Charge your Conductive Hand with electricity here — you'll need it to power the overhead projectors.

Step 2: Visit the rooms that are currently open (indicated by a green light) and activate the overhead projector in each one. Each projector plays propaganda footage that was used to condition children at Playtime Co. Every time you activate a projector, the next room unlocks. Repeat this process until you've watched all four videos.
Step 3: After activating all four projectors (working from the left corridor to the right), the middle door in the right corridor opens to reveal a fire panel. Charge your Conductive Hand with the fire element.
Step 4: Head up the stairs to your left into the main office above. A purple, flammable bow — tied by Lily Lovebraids — seals the office door. Burn it away with your fire-infused Conductive Hand.
Step 5: Step into the office (Gracie Green's office) and pick up the third Memory chip from the desk.

Viewing the Memories and Getting the Door Code
With all three chips in hand, return to the machine room. Insert each Memory into one of the three terminal readers. Step inside the pod at the center of the machine and pull the lever. The machine will play back all three memories in sequence.
After the final memory finishes, look at the display screen on the machine. It now shows a six-digit code. Walk to the keypad located behind the machine and enter this code. The locked door opens, and you can continue deeper into Chapter 5 toward Reanimation.
Remember that the code is procedurally generated for your save file. If you see a code in someone else's playthrough or a screenshot, it won't work for you. You have to watch all three memories yourself to get your own code displayed on the machine.

The Memories section of Poppy Playtime Chapter 5 blends exploration, puzzle-solving with the Conductive Hand's fire and electricity modes, and the Blacklight mechanic into a single multi-step sequence. Once you know where each chip is hidden and understand the valve order and projector progression, the whole segment moves quickly — the real bottleneck is usually the second chip's burner puzzle, where it's easy to overlook the cracked window after the explosion.
