Every Mutation in Fly for Brainrots — Multipliers, Spawn Rules, and Event Timing

Mutations are the single fastest way to increase your income in Fly for Brainrots. Each mutation changes a brainrot's appearance and applies an earning-rate multiplier, and because brainrots can only carry one mutation at a time, picking the right one matters. The developers have been adding new mutations with nearly every weekly update, so keeping track of what's available — and how to get it — is worth the effort.

Quick answer: The strongest mutation currently in Fly for Brainrots is Solar Wrath at 5× earnings. It only spawns during the Solar Wrath event, which can begin at the top or bottom of any hour.

All Fly for Brainrots Mutations — Multipliers and Appearances

MutationMultiplierVisual CueHow to Get
Gold1.25×Entirely yellow body; "Gold" text above headSpawns naturally across all map areas
Diamond1.5×Entirely cyan body; "Diamond" text above headSpawns naturally across all map areas
RainbowColor-cycling body; "Rainbow" text above headSpawns naturally across all map areas (higher chance during events)
HackerNeon green body; "Hacker" text above headOnly during the Hacker event
Solar WrathFire-and-lava effect; "Solar Wraith" text above headOnly during the Solar Wrath event

Gold, Diamond, and Rainbow mutations can appear at any time, regardless of what event is running. Hacker and Solar Wrath are locked behind their respective events, so you will never see them outside of those windows.

How Events Work in Fly for Brainrots

Events rotate on a fixed half-hour schedule. A new event starts at the top of every hour (XX:00) and again at the half-hour mark (XX:30). Each event runs for 25 minutes, which leaves a short gap before the next one begins. While you're in a server, the board above the shops displays both the current event and the one coming up next, so you can plan ahead without guessing.

Rainbow-mutated brainrots have a noticeably higher spawn rate during any active event — not just specific ones. If you're trying to fill out the Rainbow Index, playing during events is the most efficient approach.

Because Hacker and Solar Wrath brainrots only appear during their named events, you may need to wait through several rotations before the right event comes up. There is no way to force or influence which event spawns next.

Picking Up Mutated Brainrots

Mutations cannot be applied to brainrots that are already sitting on your plot. The only way to get a mutated brainrot is to find one out on the map and carry it back to your base. This means you need to actively fly around and look for the visual cues — color changes and floating text labels — rather than waiting for mutations to appear at home.

Each brainrot can hold exactly one mutation. There is no stacking, no overwriting, and no way to swap a mutation once a brainrot has one. If you pick up a Gold brainrot, it stays Gold permanently.

Which Mutation Should You Prioritize?

Solar Wrath offers the highest multiplier at 5× and is the clear top pick whenever its event is active. Hacker at 4× is the next best option, but it is also event-locked. For passive farming between events, Rainbow at 3× is the strongest mutation that can spawn at any time, though it appears far less frequently than Gold or Diamond.

Gold (1.25×) and Diamond (1.5×) are the most common mutations you'll encounter. They provide modest boosts and are worth grabbing early on, but they become less impactful once you start collecting Hacker and Solar Wrath brainrots during events.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a brainrot have more than one mutation?

No. Every brainrot in Fly for Brainrots can carry only a single mutation at a time. There is no way to combine or layer mutations.

Can I add a mutation to a brainrot already on my plot?

No. Mutations are only found on brainrots that spawn out on the map. You must pick them up and bring them back to your base. Brainrots that are already placed cannot receive mutations after the fact.

What is the rarest brainrot in Fly for Brainrots?

The Strawberry Elephant is currently the rarest brainrot in the game and also has the highest base earning rate, making it an extremely valuable find — especially if it spawns with a high-tier mutation.

Fly for Brainrots keeps expanding its mutation roster with regular updates, so the list above reflects what's live as of mid-March 2026. Keeping an eye on the event board and timing your play sessions around Hacker and Solar Wrath windows is the most reliable way to maximize your income without spending extra time grinding low-multiplier spawns.
