Every Way to Earn Free Units in Marvel Rivals Times Square During Season 6.5

Marvel Rivals refreshes its Times Square social hub with every major update, and Season 6.5 is no exception. Two separate mini-events are currently active in the New York-themed map, each rewarding 100 free Units — the game's premium currency. That's 200 Units total, enough to make a dent in the ongoing Wedding Wishes gacha event or save toward future cosmetics. Both methods require only a few seconds of effort, but the interaction prompts can be finicky, so here's exactly what to do.

Quick answer: Jump onto the Gambit and Rogue wedding carriage in the Love on Parade procession for 100 Units, then interact with the drum at the Lion Dance stage (available starting February 15 at 4 PM UTC) for another 100 Units.

Love on Parade — 100 Free Units From the Wedding Carriage

A white wedding carriage celebrating Rogue and Gambit's marriage loops through the central streets of Times Square. To collect your Units, simply run up to the carriage and hop on board. The first time you successfully ride it, a large pop-up will confirm you've received 100 Units. This event runs until March 5, 2026, at 9 AM UTC, so there's a comfortable window to grab it.

If the reward doesn't trigger immediately, try repositioning yourself and jumping onto the carriage again. Some players have reported needing a couple of attempts before the pop-up appears, which seems to be a minor synchronization issue rather than a hard requirement.

Lion Dance Show — 100 Free Units From the Drum

The second batch of free Units is tied to the Lion Dance Show stage, located near Jeff's Lemonade Stand in Times Square. Starting February 15 at 4 PM UTC, you can run up to the large drum on the stage and interact with it. Doing so grants a Red Envelope containing 100 Units. The free currency window closes on February 22 at 4 PM UTC, giving you exactly one week.

Interacting with the drum before February 27 also unlocks the "Awaken the Lion" emote, which works with every hero in the roster. Make sure to visit the stage at least once to pick up both the Units and the emote.

Times Square Disco Floor — The Earlier 100-Unit Dance Reward

Before the Valentine's Day and Lunar New Year events arrived, Season 6.5 already included a disco dance floor in Times Square where NPC characters like Psylocke, Spider-Man, and Hela perform unique dances. Walking up to one of these NPCs and tapping the interact key (T on PC) when the prompt appears copies their dance and awards 100 Units on the first successful attempt.

A common mistake is holding down the emote wheel button and manually selecting a dance. That won't work. Instead, wait for the on-screen prompt to appear while standing close to one of the NPC dancers in the center of the floor, then tap the interact key once. Your character will automatically mirror the NPC's specific dance, and the 100-Unit reward should pop up immediately.

Note: If the reward doesn't appear on the first try, keep attempting. Multiple players have experienced a delay or needed several interactions before the pop-up triggered — one player reported it took roughly 12 minutes of repeated tries. This appears to be a known quirk rather than intended gating.

What You Can Spend Free Units On

Units are Marvel Rivals' premium currency, normally purchased with real money. The 200–300 Units you can collect for free in Times Square during Season 6.5 won't buy a legendary skin outright, but they're useful in a few ways. The Wedding Wishes event, which features Gambit and Rogue wedding skins behind a gacha-style draw system, starts at 100 Units per pull. A lucky draw could land you one of the featured cosmetics for the minimum price.

Beyond the wedding event, Units can be saved and combined with future freebies or spent on smaller shop items. Every bit of free currency adds up over time, especially for free-to-play players who rely on in-game giveaways.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

The most frequent problem players run into is simply not getting the reward pop-up after interacting with an NPC or event object. A few things to check:

  • Make sure you're using the correct input. Tap the interact key (T on PC) when prompted — don't open the emote wheel manually and pick a dance yourself.
  • Stand close to the correct NPC or object. For the disco floor, target the NPCs in the center of the dance area, not background characters.
  • Retry if nothing happens. The reward trigger can be inconsistent. Walk away, come back, and interact again. Most players who initially failed got it within a few extra attempts.
  • Check the event window. The Lion Dance drum doesn't activate until February 15 at 4 PM UTC, and the Love on Parade carriage expires on March 5. If you're outside these windows, the interaction won't yield Units.

Between the wedding carriage, the Lion Dance drum, and the disco floor, Season 6.5 offers up to 300 free Units for a few minutes of wandering around Times Square. None of these rewards repeat daily — each is a one-time collection per account — so grab them while the events are still live.
