Epidote is a pearlescent green ore found across the mid-level regions of Pywel in Crimson Desert. It's one of the rarer minerals Kliff can collect, and you'll need it for higher-tier crafting. The catch is that Epidote veins only appear in regions that are locked behind main story progression, so you won't stumble across them during the opening hours of the game.
Quick answer: Progress through the main quest until you unlock Pailune (around Chapter 7), then mine Epidote veins east of Pailune City, buy ore daily from Mineral Shop merchants, or farm Hexe Earthen enemies in the Demeniss region.

When Epidote becomes available
Epidote ore nodes exist in the Pailune, Crimson Desert, and Delesyia regions. None of these are accessible at the start of the game. Pailune is typically the first of the three to open as you follow the main storyline, so that's where most players will encounter Epidote for the first time. A handful of veins also appear scattered around Hernand, but they're spread thin and not worth dedicated farming runs.
Your very first piece of Epidote actually comes from a quest reward. Complete Count Felix's Request in Hernand — find the NPC named Michael near the constabulary on the western side of the city to pick it up.

Mining Epidote ore nodes
Once Pailune is unlocked, two clusters of Epidote veins appear immediately on the western and eastern sides of Pailune City. The eastern cluster is particularly dense and makes for an efficient loop. You can also find a large concentration of nodes in the southern portion of the Crimson Desert region itself. Epidote veins are easy to spot in the wild thanks to their distinctive green shimmer.
Buying Epidote from Mineral Shop merchants
Mineral Shops restock Epidote on a daily basis, making them the most consistent source of the ore — especially before you've unlocked high-density mining areas. Every region has multiple Mineral Shops, and you can visit each one every day for a fresh batch.
The earliest Mineral Shop you can access is at Karin Quarry, north of Hernand's main city. To unlock it, you need to clear the quarry of enemies and defeat the boss Marni's Excavatron. Beating the Excavatron also rewards you with an upgraded mining tool, which speeds up all future ore gathering.
The downside is cost. Epidote is expensive in Silver, so buying large quantities early on can drain your funds quickly. A practical approach is to combine merchant purchases with mining runs once you have both options available.

Epidote from enemy drops
After reaching the Demeniss region in Pywel, you'll start running into Hexe Earthen troops — magical enemies that have a chance to drop Epidote when defeated. These creatures attack in groups, which means a single encounter can yield multiple drops if luck is on your side. Look for them in open areas near the Sanctum of Mortification rather than inside small villages.
Enemy drops are the least reliable of the three methods. The drop rate isn't guaranteed, so you shouldn't rely on combat farming alone. It works best as a passive bonus while you're already clearing Hexe Earthen mobs for other objectives.

Epidote farming methods compared
| Method | Earliest access | Consistency | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mining ore nodes | Pailune unlock (Chapter 7) | High — dense clusters near Pailune City | Free (time only) |
| Mineral Shop merchants | Karin Quarry (Hernand) | High — daily restock | Silver per unit |
| Hexe Earthen enemy drops | Demeniss region | Low — RNG-dependent | Free (combat time) |
| Count Felix's Request (quest) | Hernand (early game) | One-time reward | Free |
The fastest path to a steady Epidote supply is pushing through the main story until Pailune opens up, then combining daily Mineral Shop visits with mining loops east of the city. Enemy drops from Hexe Earthen troops add a nice supplement once you reach Demeniss, but they shouldn't be your primary strategy. With all three methods running in parallel, you'll accumulate Epidote far faster than any single approach allows.
