Ochoko Cups are the consumable currency you spend every time you summon a friendly Acolyte from a Benevolent Grave in Nioh 3. They don't affect the story or your character's progression, but they're the difference between soloing a brutal boss and having an AI companion soak hits for you. The cups are also required when you want to join another player's world through co-op. Running out at the wrong moment is painful, so knowing how to replenish them quickly matters.
Quick answer: Summon and defeat Revenants from the red Bloody Graves scattered throughout every area. Each kill has a strong chance of dropping one to three Ochoko Cups, and the fights cost nothing to initiate.

Defeat Revenants at Bloody Graves
The single most reliable way to build up Ochoko Cups is fighting Revenants. Bloody Graves are the glowing red markers you'll find all over the open world, near Shrines, Crucible Wraiths, and boss rooms. Interacting with one spawns a hostile spirit modeled after another player's character, complete with their gear and fighting style. Beating the Revenant often rewards Ochoko Cups alongside equipment drops, though cups are not a guaranteed reward every time.
Before you engage, the UI shows the Revenant's equipped weapons, Guardian Spirit, and level, so you can pick fights you're confident about winning. A useful farming trick is to revisit an earlier region where Revenants are well below your current level. You can one- or two-shot them, chain several kills in quick succession, and walk away with a comfortable stack of cups in just a few minutes.
Bloody Graves tend to cluster near save Shrines that sit right before boss encounters. That placement is convenient because it lets you farm cups and then immediately spend them at a nearby Benevolent Grave to summon an Acolyte for the fight ahead.

Leave Benevolent Graves with Righteous Jasper
Placing your own Benevolent Grave lets other players summon an AI copy of your character. Every time someone uses your grave and completes their objective, you earn rewards — including Ochoko Cups and additional Righteous Jasper. To place a grave, open your inventory, navigate to Usable Items, and use a Righteous Jasper wherever you're standing. You can have up to three active graves at once.
The best spots to drop graves are right outside boss gates, near minibosses, or in areas where you see a high density of Bloody Graves (a sign that players are dying frequently). The more useful the location, the more likely other players will summon your ghost.
To collect your passive earnings, visit any Shrine and check the Preparations menu. Under the Boons sub-section you'll see how many times your grave was used and what rewards accumulated. Make a habit of checking every few hours during active play sessions.
Righteous Jasper itself can be purchased from merchants, found as world loot, or earned as a reward when you help other players through co-op.
Help other players through co-op
Selecting the Become a Visitor option at a Shrine lets you join another player's world. Successfully completing the host's objective rewards Ochoko Cups along with other loot. This method is especially efficient because a single co-op run can yield several cups at once, and you also gain experience and gear in the process.
Joining another player's session costs one Ochoko Cup, so you do need at least one to get started. If you're completely dry, farm a single Revenant first to get the ball rolling. Once you're in a co-op rhythm, the cups you earn from helping others will outpace what you spend to join.

Loot from exploration, bosses, and enemies
Ochoko Cups occasionally appear as pickups on corpses scattered throughout the world. These are uncommon and not something you can farm in a targeted way, but they add up over the course of a full mission. Bosses and major Yokai enemies also have a chance to drop cups, though their loot tables lean more heavily toward gear and other consumables.
Neither of these methods is consistent enough to rely on as a primary source, but they supplement your supply passively while you're progressing through the game normally.
How to spend Ochoko Cups
The primary use is summoning Acolytes. Approach a glowing blue Benevolent Grave and hold the interact button (R1 on PlayStation, RB on Xbox controllers by default). The cost in cups is displayed next to the Acolyte's name and typically ranges from two to five depending on how far you are in the game.
Once summoned, the Acolyte follows you and fights alongside you. A purple bar labeled the Battle Spoils Gauge appears above their name on the HUD. That bar depletes as the Acolyte kills enemies, and when it's empty, they vanish. If you summoned an Acolyte specifically for a boss, they'll disappear once the fight ends regardless of the gauge. Only one Acolyte can be active at a time, and if they die, you'll need to spend more cups to summon a replacement.
Benevolent Graves appear most frequently near boss rooms and Dark Realm entrances, though you'll also find them scattered through the open world. Blue graves near a boss door are almost always worth the investment if you're struggling.
You can also spend a single Ochoko Cup to initiate co-op as a Visitor from any Shrine, joining a random player or a friend who's requesting help. If you set up a lobby with a friend directly, no cups are needed at all.

Ochoko Cups flow most freely when you treat Revenant farming as a natural part of exploration rather than a separate grind. Kill a handful of red graves every time you pass a Shrine, drop your own Benevolent Graves in high-traffic spots, and check your Boons regularly. With those habits in place, you should rarely find yourself short when it matters most.
