Finding the Disguised Journalist in Arknights: Endfield's Visitor from the Band Quest

Visitor from the Band I sends you on a short investigation through Valley Pass, where a journalist has infiltrated the Refugee Camp disguised as one of the displaced residents. The quest pairs you with Avywenna as you question suspicious individuals and ultimately expose the intruder. It's a straightforward side mission with solid rewards, but the correct suspect isn't immediately obvious unless you know what to look for.

Quick answer: The disguised journalist is the Proud Feline Woman taking notes near the center of the Refugee Camp. Speak to her and accuse her to complete the quest.

Unlock requirements

This side mission becomes available after finishing the Mysterious Signal main mission in Chapter 1. Once that story quest wraps up, check your Baker messages and read the one from Fabian Collins. Reading this message triggers Visitor from the Band I to appear in your mission log. The quest is technically located in Valley IV's Originium Science Park area, though all objectives take place at the Refugee Camp in Valley Pass.

Visit the Refugee Camp

Step 1: Travel to the Refugee Camp in Valley Pass. Head toward the middle of the camp where the AIC Steward is positioned. Approaching this area triggers a cutscene introducing Avywenna and establishing the mission objective.

Investigate suspicious people

Step 2: Four suspicious individuals are marked around the Refugee Camp. Visit each one and listen to their conversations. Avywenna provides commentary after each interaction, indicating whether that person seems to be hiding something or not.

Step 3: After listening in on the fourth suspicious person, another cutscene plays. Avywenna asks you to identify and expose the disguised journalist based on what you've observed during the investigation.

Expose the disguised journalist

Step 4: Return to the center of the Refugee Camp and find the Proud Feline Woman who is taking notes. Speak to her and select the option to accuse her of being the journalist. A final cutscene plays where you and Avywenna call Aleeza to confront her, completing the quest.

The correct suspect is always the same character regardless of the order you investigate the others. Once you've finished listening to all four marked individuals, you can wrap up the mission quickly by heading straight to the note-taking woman near the camp's center.

Visitor from the Band II

A sequel mission called Visitor from the Band II continues the storyline involving the journalist and becomes available after completing the first part. In that quest, you'll need to find Miss Jones after she gets lost. Players have noted some unintentional humor in the setup: the photo she sends to show her location is taken roughly 100 meters from where she escaped, on a main road surrounded by clearly marked signs for the UWST Research Center and Logistics Route. Both missions are part of the Valley IV side mission collection in version 1.0.

The Visitor from the Band questline offers a quick investigation experience with Avywenna that rewards useful progression materials. Since the correct suspect never changes, you can complete the first mission efficiently once you know to look for the Proud Feline Woman near the camp's center after interviewing all four suspects.
