Microsoft Store keeps throwing the 0x00000194 error code on your Windows 10 PC? Fret not. You’re not alone. Many other users are experiencing this problem on their Windows machines as well.
If you have already tried fixing the problem by restarting the PC or signing in and out of the Microsoft without any success, then there’s an alternative fix that has worked for some users.
You’ve to change your user account name in your Microsoft account and then try to sign in into the Microsoft Store. It won’t give the 0x00000194 error then.
Step 1: Sign Out of Microsoft Store
Before changing your account name in your Microsoft account, make sure that you sign out of the Microsoft Store first.
- Open the Microsoft Store app on your computer.
- Click on your profile picture in the top-right corner, and select your account.
- In the popup window, click on the Sign out link located right below your Microsoft account.
Step 2: Change the name in your Microsoft account
- Go to account.microsoft.com/profile/edit-name and log in with your Microsoft account.
- Modify your Last name temporarily. For example, if your last name is Modi, change it to M.
- Save your changes.
Step 3: Sign in back in the Microsoft Store
Once you’ve modified your name, open the Microsoft Store and sign in again with your Microsoft account in the Store.
- Open the Microsoft Store app on your computer.
- Click on the blank profile picture icon in the top-right corner, and select Sign in.
- Select Microsoft account under the Use a different account section, and hit Continue.
- Sign in with the same Microsoft account that we just modified in Step 2 above.
That’s it. The Microsoft Store error 0x00000194 should be resolved on your PC now, and you can revert the changes made to your account name back to its original state.
