Fortnite Chapter 7 Christmas trees and where to find them

Christmas trees are back on the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1 island, and they are much more than background decoration. Each one acts as a small loot hotspot, with chests and floor loot clustered tightly around the base of the tree. If you are trying to complete Winterfest quests or simply want a strong early-game start, knowing where these trees are placed is a real advantage.

How Christmas trees work in Chapter 7 Season 1

Christmas trees in Chapter 7 Season 1 behave like compact POIs inside existing named or landmark locations. Around the base of each tree you will usually find several chests, ammo boxes, floor loot and sometimes extra consumables. They are static during Winterfest, so once you learn the placements you can route around them consistently in both Battle Royale and Zero Build.

Each tree is tied to a bit of local dressing — stalls, gift piles, or small festive areas — which makes them easy to spot as you glide in. Most of them sit in clearly visible open spaces such as plazas, plazas near water, and market squares.

All Christmas tree locations in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1

There are 14 Christmas trees scattered across the Chapter 7 Season 1 map. They are spread between the snowed northern half of the island and some of the milder coastal or inland areas. Every one of these trees can be visited for loot; several are also likely to be used in Winterfest-style “visit” or “dance near a tree” quests.

Here is a structured overview of the Christmas tree locations and what each spot offers.

# Area Placement description Notes
1 Pleasant-style town square Large tree in the central plaza of a suburban town layout. Classic “town square” drop; good for early fights and quick chest access.
2 Holly-style hedge suburb Tree inside the main garden courtyard surrounded by houses and hedges. Compact area with several “super” chest spawns and tight combat angles.
3 Beachfront pier Tree at the end of a long pier extending out over the water. High-visibility location; great vertical sightlines but limited cover.
4 Misty-style lakeside village Tree near the river or lake edge in the village center. Good rotation options by boat or swimming; expect medium contest.
5 Retail-style shopping street Tree in the middle of a street market or car park area. Dense building loot nearby; strong if you enjoy close-quarters fights.
6 Clawsy Lodge vicinity Tree in the main yard between the cabins at the new festive lodge POI. Extremely busy during Winterfest; pairs with boss and cabin rotations.
7 Winterfest cabin exterior Smaller decorative tree near the lodge-like structure styled after Hogsmeade. Useful as a minor loot stop on the way to or from Clawsy Lodge.
8 Snowy hill hamlet Tree on a raised plateau in a cluster of wooden houses. Strong high-ground early; look for zip lines or ramps nearby.
9 Frozen roadside rest stop Tree by parked vehicles and a fuel station along a main road. Ideal for grabbing a vehicle after looting to rotate quickly.
10 Cliffside lookout Tree perched near a cliff with a view over water or valley. Low contest but exposed; good for snipers who want early mats and ammo.
11 Small fishing village Tree near moored boats, small shacks, and ice-covered shoreline. Synergizes well with fishing rods and barrels for early heals.
12 Industrial yard Tree in the center of a storage yard or factory compound. Plenty of metal harvest and cover; mid-tier loot density.
13 Roadside market Tree beside food trucks and small stalls just off a main intersection. Quick, low-commitment stop when rotating by car.
14 Remote snowy outpost Lone tree with a few cabins away from major named locations. Great for passive starts; usually lower player traffic.

These labels describe how the trees sit in the broader landscape rather than the exact coordinates, since the map UI changes across patches. When you glide in, look for clusters of decorative lights, gift piles, or a small circular plaza; those cues nearly always mark a Christmas tree.

Why Christmas tree drops are strong early-game plays

The trees combine several early-game advantages in one tight area. The loot is concentrated, so you spend less time running between buildings and more time opening chests. That matters in hot drops where a few seconds decide whether you find a shotgun before the player landing beside you.

Because the trees are visually distinctive, they also create predictable combat patterns. Players tend to circle the trunk, peek between presents, and fight over the same handful of chest and floor-spawn positions. If you learn those lines of sight and common angles, you gain an edge in those opening skirmishes.

Finally, trees near strong macro positions — such as the pier drop, the lodge area, or high-ground hamlets — naturally feed into better mid-game rotations. You leave with decent loot and positional control, rather than being stuck in a low-ground POI with limited exits.

Using Christmas trees to complete Winterfest quests

Winterfest 2025 reuses the cabin-present system and brings back classic seasonal loot items, but it also leans on the island’s festive props for quests. If a challenge asks you to visit, dance at, or loot from Christmas trees, the 14 locations listed above are the targets.

For route-based objectives, the most efficient way to tick off multi-location quests is to chain trees that sit along clean rotation lines. For example, start at a suburban town square, glide or drive down to the lakeside village, then rotate on to the retail-style shopping street. That sequence lets you clear three trees in one match without crossing the entire map.

When a quest only needs interaction with a single tree, choose the one that best matches your preferred playstyle. Aggressive players can head to the lodge-adjacent tree or beachfront pier; slower players can opt for the remote outpost or cliffside lookout.

How Christmas trees fit into the wider Winterfest 2025 event

Chapter 7 Season 1’s Winterfest 2025 event runs during the late-December holiday window and layers several systems on top of the tree spawns. The island’s top half is covered in snow, a new festive POI called Clawsy Lodge sits between Wonkeeland and Latte Landing, and the Winterfest Cabin returns with 14 free presents.

In the cabin, you unwrap one gift per day. The two free skins, Glacial Dummy and Cheeks, unlock only after a certain number of other presents have been opened, which means you cannot rush them on day one. The cabin also includes a fireplace that grants XP while you idle on the screen, turning it into a small AFK reward loop alongside the daily gift.

On the island itself, Winterfest brings back classic items such as the Snowball Launcher and Sneaky Snowmen. The fastest way to guarantee these is to throw down Holiday Present consumables, which create a loot-filled box containing Winterfest-themed weapons and items. The presence of Christmas trees near busy POIs and roads makes it more likely that you will find these winter items early, since many players and chests are concentrated around them.

There is also a dedicated Winterfest boss, Yule Trooper, who roams among a set of spawn points on the map. Defeating Yule Trooper grants a Medallion that lets you transform into him, plus the Yule Trooper’s Holo Rush SMG, a Chug Jug, and typical boss-tier loot. Trees near his patrol areas are particularly contested during the opening minutes of each match.

Looting patterns around each Christmas tree

Although the exact chest and floor-loot rolls at any given tree are random, the structural patterns are consistent across the map. Planning around those patterns keeps you alive longer in hot drops.

Central plaza trees usually have three to five chests and multiple ammo boxes in a tight circle. Land directly on the top of the tree or on a high ledge nearby, break down into the loot ring, and clear the nearest chest before challenging other players.

Pier and shoreline trees offer strong sightlines but limited cover. The main chests sit clustered near benches or gift stacks. Land slightly short of the pier so you can grab a weapon on the way in; this reduces the risk of being lasered mid-air by players who reached the pier first.

Village and hamlet trees are surrounded by buildings, so you can choose to land on a rooftop for immediate high ground or on the tree itself for the fastest access to presents. When you arrive late, rotate into one of the adjacent houses first, gear up, then push back into the square.

Roadside and industrial trees typically trade raw loot volume for mobility. Expect fewer chests but a guaranteed vehicle spawn nearby, plus metal and brick sources. These are ideal mid-game stops rather than primary landing sites.

Practical landing routes that chain multiple trees

For players who want to lean into Christmas trees as their main Winterfest gameplan, a few clean rotation routes make efficient use of the map layout.

Route 1: Aggressive northern snow circuit

Land at the suburban town square tree, fight for control of the central plaza, then rotate north toward the hill hamlet tree. From there, glide or drive to the Clawsy Lodge area tree, which positions you near the new POI, Holiday Presents, and possible Yule Trooper spawns. This route is high risk but loaded with chests and player traffic.

Route 2: Coastal control loop

Start on the beachfront pier tree, secure the pier, then move along the coast to the small fishing village tree. After looting, rotate inland via the roadside market tree to pick up a vehicle and head toward circle. This line gives you plenty of shields, fishing spots, and easy exit paths.

Route 3: Low-pressure southern path

Drop at the remote snowy outpost tree, which is usually much quieter than the main POIs. After clearing it, push toward the lakeside village tree, then continue to the retail-style shopping street tree if the storm circle allows. This route suits players who prefer to gear first and fight later.

Christmas trees in Chapter 7 Season 1 are more than simple seasonal props. They anchor compact loot clusters, feed into Winterfest quests, and shape popular landing zones across the island. Learning their placements and the fights they attract is one of the easiest ways to improve your early-game consistency during the event.
