Fortnite Marvel Rivals Wave 2 brings Luna Snow and Magik in February

Fortnite's ongoing collaboration with Marvel Rivals is expanding with a second wave of character skins. Luna Snow and Magik, both playable heroes in NetEase's Marvel Rivals, are heading to the battle royale as part of the v39.40 update scheduled for February 5, 2026. This follows the Doom 2099 skin that launched in December 2024, marking the first crossover between the two games.

Quick answer: Luna Snow and Magik skins are expected to arrive in Fortnite around Valentine's Day (February 14, 2026), as part of the Marvel Rivals Wave 2 collaboration included in the v39.40 patch.

v39.40 update release schedule

The Fortnite v39.40 update drops on Thursday, February 5, 2026. Server maintenance typically begins around 4:00 AM ET, with the update going live approximately at 7:00 AM ET. The timing aligns with the end of the South Park collaboration, which wraps up at 4:00 AM ET that same day.

Luna Snow and Magik character backgrounds

Luna Snow occupies the Strategist role in Marvel Rivals, functioning as a support-oriented healer. She didn't originate from comic books but instead debuted in the mobile game Marvel Future Fight in 2018. Her character design leans into K-pop aesthetics, complete with a performer background and ice-based abilities. The pop-star imagery has fueled speculation that her Fortnite appearance could tie into a Fortnite Festival event.

Magik takes the Duelist role in Marvel Rivals and has deep roots in Marvel comics. She first appeared in Giant-Size X-Men #1 back in 1975 as Illyana Rasputin, the younger sister of Colossus. Her powers revolve around sorcery and teleportation through Limbo, and she wields a massive Soulsword. Anya Taylor-Joy portrayed the character in the 2020 film The New Mutants.

All leaked skins for v39.40

The Marvel Rivals Wave 2 skins aren't arriving alone. Dataminers have uncovered a substantial roster of cosmetics coming with the February patch. The update appears to bundle several previously teased collaborations into one release window.

KPop Demon Hunters Wave 2 adds Jinu, Saja Boys, and a Derpy Sidekick companion cosmetic. This continues the anime-inspired collaboration that launched its first wave earlier in Chapter 7.

Chappell Roan joins the Icon Series as the next Fortnite Festival headliner. The Pink Pony Club singer is rumored to receive two outfit variants as part of the new Festival season launching alongside v39.40.

Valentine's Day 2026 skin has been officially teased by Epic Games on their social media banner. The cosmetic originally appeared in an older Fortnite survey and is finally making its way into the game to coincide with the February 14 holiday.

An Ice Hockey Girl skin, also pulled from survey data, rounds out the confirmed additions. Additional cosmetics beyond these are expected but haven't been fully detailed yet.

Collaborations not arriving in v39.40

Several anticipated crossovers won't make the February update. Honkai Star Rail and Solo Leveling collaborations are reportedly delayed by approximately two update cycles. Fans hoping for Sung Jin-Woo or characters like Kafka will need to wait until later in the spring.

An Overwatch collaboration is also in the pipeline, but appears targeted for the next season launch rather than the current patch. Leaks suggest Tracer, Genji, and Mercy could eventually join the Gaming Legends series, though no firm date has been established.

Pricing expectations

Epic Games hasn't confirmed official pricing for the Marvel Rivals Wave 2 skins. Most collaboration outfits in Fortnite fall within the 1,500 to 1,600 V-Bucks range for individual skins. Bundles that include additional cosmetics like back blings, pickaxes, or emotes typically cost more. The Valentine's Day release window suggests these skins could appear in themed bundles or limited-time shop rotations.

The v39.40 update represents one of the larger content drops for Chapter 7 Season 1's final month. Between Marvel Rivals Wave 2, KPop Demon Hunters Wave 2, and the Chappell Roan Festival event, players have multiple collaboration tracks to follow. The exact shop rotation timing for Luna Snow and Magik remains unconfirmed, but the Valentine's Day window provides a reasonable target for when these skins will become available for purchase.
