Fortnite Save the World Free Rewards — Registration, Milestones, and Veteran Bonuses

Fortnite: Save the World goes free-to-play on April 16, 2026, and Epic Games is handing out free cosmetics and in-game items to anyone who pre-registers — plus extra bonuses for players who already own the mode. Here's a full breakdown of what's up for grabs and exactly how to secure each reward.

Quick answer: Visit save-the-world.fortnite.com, sign in with your Epic account, and click Register before April 16. You'll automatically earn every community milestone reward that gets unlocked, with no additional steps required.

Community Goal Milestone Rewards

Epic is running a community-wide registration drive. Every player who registers on the official Save the World page contributes one count toward three milestones. When a milestone is hit, all registered participants receive the corresponding reward — you don't need to do anything beyond registering.

The first two rewards — the spray and the banner — are granted as soon as the community hits their respective thresholds. The Snowstrike Hero works differently: it won't be delivered until Save the World officially goes free-to-play on April 16. Current Save the World players who pre-registered will receive it slightly earlier, before April 16. First-time players will get the hero after completing the in-game tutorial.

⚠️
Snowstrike is a Save the World hero, not a Battle Royale skin. You cannot equip it in BR matches.

How to Register for the Community Goal

Step 1: Go to save-the-world.fortnite.com in your browser. You can do this on desktop or mobile.

Step 2: Click the "Register" button near the top of the page. You'll be prompted to sign in with your Epic Games account. Make sure you log in with the specific account where you want the rewards delivered.

Step 3: After signing in, confirm your registration. You should see the community goal progress bar and your participation status update on the page.

🐛
Some players have experienced a registration loop where clicking "Register" after signing in just redirects back to the main page. If this happens, try fully logging out of your Epic Games account in a separate browser tab first, then return to the registration page and sign in fresh. The deadline is April 16, so there's time to retry if the page is under heavy load.

Late registration still counts. Even if all three milestones have already been reached by the time you sign up, you'll receive every unlocked reward as long as you register before April 16.

If you change your mind, you can delete your community goal profile through Epic's profile deletion page, but doing so makes you ineligible for all milestone rewards unless you register again.

Rewards for Existing Save the World Players

Beyond the community goal, Epic is giving current Save the World owners a separate set of veteran rewards on April 16. These include superchargers, vouchers, and gold — all delivered automatically to existing accounts as a thank-you for supporting the mode over the past nine years.

These veteran rewards are independent of the community goal registration. You'll receive them simply for being an existing player when the free-to-play transition happens.

Founders Edition V-Bucks — What Changes and What Doesn't

Players who own any tier of the Founders Edition will continue earning V-Bucks through Save the World after April 16. The confirmed V-Bucks sources that remain intact for Founders are:

  • Daily quests (typically 50–100 V-Bucks each)
  • Mission alerts
  • Storm Shield Defense missions
  • Existing challenges

A single day's worth of daily quests can yield up to 300 V-Bucks if you stack three quests, and those V-Bucks are fully usable in Battle Royale's Item Shop. Founders also earn X-Ray Tickets and Battle Pass XP from these same activities.

New free-to-play players who never purchased a Founders pack will not have access to V-Bucks rewards through Save the World. The Founders Edition is no longer available for purchase, so this perk is locked to accounts that bought it before it was discontinued.

💰
If you previously purchased Save the World starter bundles but never completed their quest packs, those V-Bucks rewards (typically 1,200–1,500 per bundle) remain in your account and can still be claimed after April 16.

Supported Platforms on April 16

Save the World's free-to-play launch expands the mode to platforms where it was previously unavailable. Notably, Nintendo Switch 2 gains full support — the original Switch could never run Save the World due to hardware limitations.

Who Can Participate

The community goal is open to anyone aged 13 or older with an Epic Games account. Minors between 13 and the legal age of majority in their region need parental or guardian permission. Participation is restricted in regions where U.S. law prohibits it, including the Crimea region, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, and Syria.

All existing Save the World progress — challenges, equipment, heroes, and schematics — carries over through the free-to-play transition. Nothing is lost or reset. The registration window closes on April 16, so the only thing you need to do right now is sign up and wait for the milestones to fill.
