Winterfest 2025 layers extra progression on top of Chapter 7 Season 1 with limited-time quests, bonus XP, and at least one exclusive cosmetic. The event runs until January 5, 2026, so there is a fixed window to clear everything.
Winterfest 2025 schedule and structure
Winterfest 2025 runs from December 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. to January 5, 202,6 at 2:00 p.m. in Battle Royale. During that period, you get:
- A dedicated Winterfest quest tab with multiple time-gated drops.
- Seasonal “Gift to the Stars” quests built around Perfect Gifts and the new Yule Trooper boss.
- Ongoing “Squad Up!” quests that track Shiny Llamas across several squad-based modes and unlock a pickaxe.
Quest drops are staggered over the event rather than appearing all at once. The first Winterfest drop is available at launch, with additional drops unlocking every two days. Each quest currently awards 10,000–12,000 XP, and all Winterfest quests expire when the event ends on January 5.

Winterfest cabin rewards vs. quest rewards
The event splits rewards into two buckets:
- Cabin gifts — 14 free items unwrapped inside the Winterfest cabin, including two skins and several pickaxes, emotes, and other cosmetics.
- Quest rewards — XP for every Winterfest quest and one extra pickaxe unlocked through cumulative progress.
The cabin is accessed from the snowflake icon next to the Play button in the main lobby. You can open one present per day at 9 a.m. ET. You start with 12 visible presents; the Glacial Dummy outfit appears after you open seven, and the Cheeks outfit appears after 13. Missed days cannot be made up by opening multiple gifts in one day, so you can only skip up to four days if you want all 14 items.
Key Winterfest 2025 cabin rewards include:
- Skins — Glacial Dummy, Cheeks.
- Pickaxes — Festive Bat, Bard’s Gem, Glacial Groove, Wrapped Axe.
- Back Blings — Winterfest Bow, Festive Gwinny.
- Other items — Winterfest Letter glider, A Snowman! wrap, Winterfest Gift spray, Shadowstorm contrail, No Sweat, Snowfish emote, Warm & Peely emote, Fire-Born emote, and the Just a Holiday in Battlewood jam track.
On top of these, Winterfest quests deliver XP and the Starbrite Slasher pickaxe.

Gift to the Stars: Perfect Gift and Yule Trooper quests
The first Winterfest quest line is listed under “Gift to the Stars” and is live from the start of the event. It currently includes three tasks focused on a new temporary item and the Yule Trooper boss.
| Quest | Requirement | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Collect a Perfect Gift from a chest | Pick up the Perfect Gift item when it drops from a chest. | 10,000–12,000 XP |
| Bring a Perfect Gift to any character | Deliver a Perfect Gift to a non-hostile NPC before the timer expires. | 10,000–12,000 XP |
| Damage Yule Trooper or any other boss | Deal 500 damage to a boss NPC (disguised players do not count). | 10,000–12,000 XP |
How Perfect Gifts work
Perfect Gifts are a limited-time quest item that can drop from regular chests during Winterfest. When one appears, it sits next to the chest with a distinctive sparkle, similar to other quest objects.
Step 1: Open standard chests in Battle Royale until you see a Perfect Gift pop out. The drop is random, so it may take several chests. Pick it up to complete the “Collect a Perfect Gift from a chest” quest. The item does not occupy one of your inventory slots.
Step 2: Once you pick up a Perfect Gift, a timer appears on your screen. You must reach any non-hostile NPC before that timer runs out. There are 13 NPCs spread across the island in Chapter 7 Season 1, including both named characters and vendors.
Step 3: Move directly toward the closest NPC icon on your minimap, avoiding unnecessary fights. When you reach the character, interact and hand over the Perfect Gift. That turn-in completes “Bring a Perfect Gift to any character.” If the timer expires, the item disappears, and you need to find another Perfect Gift to retry.

Yule Trooper boss quest and weapon reward
Yule Trooper is the seasonal boss for Winterfest 2025. He rotates between locations each match, like the other Chapter 7 Season 1 bosses, and brings both a medallion and a mythic weapon.
- Quest requirement — Deal a total of 500 damage to Yule Trooper or any other boss NPC. You do not need to land the final blow.
- Boss behavior — Yule Trooper patrols with henchmen and uses aggressive fire when engaged, similar to other boss encounters this season.
- Boss drops — Defeating Yule Trooper grants his medallion (which lets you transform into him) and the Yule Trooper’s Holo Rush SMG, a mythic with higher fire rate when aiming down sights, alongside a Chug Jug and standard loot.
Step 1: Land near one of the boss spawn patterns in Chapter 7 Season 1. Listen for boss voice lines and watch the minimap for special icons that mark boss encounters.
Step 2: Let other players initiate the fight if possible. Third-party engagement from cover, focusing on tagging the boss with AR or DMR shots to accumulate damage safely. Once your total damage across matches reaches 500, the quest completes automatically.
Players disguised as bosses using boss tokens do not count for this quest; damage must be applied to the actual boss NPCs.

Squad Up! quests and the Starbrite Slasher pickaxe
Squad Up! quests run alongside the main Winterfest track and apply across several modes. They revolve around Shiny Llamas, a special variant of loot llama that only appears for these quests.
Key rules:
- Progress only counts in Squads versions of Battle Royale, Reload, OG, or Blitz.
- Shiny Llamas have a chance to drop when you open rare chests or supply drops, or when you eliminate an enemy player or NPC.
- Every 100 Shiny Llamas collected across your account grants 12,000 XP, up to 1,000 llamas total.
- Squad sharing is enabled: any Shiny Llama collected by one squad member counts for all four players.
The headline reward here is the Starbrite Slasher pickaxe. Collecting 400 Shiny Llamas unlocks it, and the pickaxe is tied to the Brite Agent set from the Lego starter pack.
Step 1: Queue specifically into Squads playlists that qualify (standard Battle Royale, Reload, OG, or Blitz). Solos and Duos do not advance these quests.
Step 2: Prioritize high-tier loot sources. Land at POIs with dense chest spawns, especially those with a higher concentration of rare chests. Rotate through supply drops midway through the match and aggressively third-party fights to farm eliminations on both players and NPCs.
Step 3: Stay in a full squad whenever possible. Because Shiny Llama pickups are shared, coordinated teams reach the 400 and 1,000 thresholds significantly faster than solo queue players.

XP values and leveling impact
Winterfest 2025’s quest XP is tuned as supplemental progression rather than a replacement for daily and weekly quests, but it adds up quickly when you clear everything:
- Each Gift to the Stars quest currently awards 10,000 XP.
- Each Winterfest quest in the main event track is listed at 12,000 XP.
- Squad Up! milestones grant 12,000 XP per 100 Shiny Llamas collected, up to 120,000 XP at 1,000 llamas.
Combined with the event-long gift openings and normal seasonal progression, Winterfest can push several Battle Pass, OG Pass, Music Pass, or Lego Pass levels with relatively low effort, especially if you play in squads focused on llama farming.
How Winterfest 2025 ties into the wider event
Winterfest 2025 sits on top of broader seasonal changes in Chapter 7 Season 1. The top half of the island is now covered in snow, anchored by a new POI called Clawsy Lodge between Wonkeeland and Latte Landing, and the Winterfest cabin appears as a standalone location south of Clawsy Lodge. The cabin leans into this year’s Harry Potter crossover with a Hogsmeade-style exterior, a broomstick mounted above the entrance, and Hogwarts-inspired decorations inside.
Several themed skins rotate through the item shop during the event, including Santa ’Brina (a Sabrina Carpenter skin), Snow Miku (Hatsune Miku), Harry Potter and Hogwarts outfits, and Alpine Lexa. Those shop cosmetics are not quest rewards, but they share the same window as Winterfest quests and the cabin gifts.
The practical upshot is straightforward: log in regularly to open a present, clear each new batch of Winterfest quests as they unlock, and play squad modes whenever you can to bank Shiny Llamas. Do that through early January and you walk away with two free outfits, multiple pickaxes, a music track, several smaller cosmetics, and the Starbrite Slasher pickaxe, all without spending V-Bucks.
