SpongeBob has finally washed up on Fortnite’s shores for Winterfest 2025, but not as a traditional outfit. Instead of a full character skin, the collaboration centers on a reactive SpongeBob sidekick and a cluster of themed cosmetics, from slippers to a sandwich-shaped car.
The result is a crossover that is heavy on fan service and just as heavy on V-Buck prices. Here’s how it all works, what you can actually buy, and how much each piece costs.
There is no playable SpongeBob skin
The first thing to understand is that SpongeBob himself is not an outfit you equip in the locker. He appears as a Sidekick — Fortnite’s mascot-style companion that floats beside your character during matches.
The SpongeBob SquarePants sidekick is sold in the Item Shop for 1,800 V-Bucks. He comes with custom animations and voice lines performed by Tom Kenny, so he acts more like a fully realized character than a simple pet, but your core character model remains whatever skin you’re wearing underneath.
By playing and earning Sidekick Points, you can unlock a small set of extra SpongeBob customizations and reactions:
- SpongeBob Banner Icon
- SpongeBubble Hearts reaction
- SpongeBob SquarePants Gradient style
- Imagination! emote tied to the sidekick
These unlocks are layered on top of the 1,800 V-Bucks purchase rather than bundled as immediate extras.

SpongeBob SquarePants Bundle: what you get for 3,000 V-Bucks
If you want most of the SpongeBob theming in one hit, the SpongeBob SquarePants Bundle is the core package. In the Item Shop, it’s listed at 3,000 V-Bucks, discounted from a notional 7,800 V-Bucks value for everything inside.
The official bundle page on fortnite.com confirms the contents:
| Item | Type | Included in 3,000 V-Buck bundle | Individual price |
|---|---|---|---|
| SpongeBob SquarePants | Sidekick | Yes | 1,800 V-Bucks |
| SpongeBob Slippies | Kicks | Yes | 1,000 V-Bucks |
| Gary Slippies | Kicks | Yes | 1,000 V-Bucks |
| Jellyfish Jam | Emote | Yes | 500 V-Bucks |
| Lil’ Big Jellyfish | Emote | Yes | 500 V-Bucks |
| DoodleBob | Back Bling | Yes | 400 V-Bucks |
| The Golden Spatula | Pickaxe | Yes | 500 V-Bucks |
| Goofy Goober | Guitar | Yes | 800 V-Bucks |
| Bikini Bottom Kit | Drums | Yes | 800 V-Bucks |
| Sweet Victory | Jam Track | Yes | 500 V-Bucks |
Buying these ten items individually would total 7,800 V-Bucks. If you already own some of them, the bundle price dynamically drops, so you’re effectively paying only for the missing pieces up to that 3,000 V-Buck cap.
For anyone interested in a few different cosmetics — the sidekick, an emote, and at least one instrument, for example — the bundle is the only way to keep the total under what you’d pay piecemeal.

Every SpongeBob cosmetic and total cost
Beyond the main bundle, the collaboration spreads across car cosmetics, kicks, and traversal effects. All SpongeBob items currently in the shop are:
| Item | Category | Price (V-Bucks) | In SpongeBob SquarePants Bundle? |
|---|---|---|---|
| SpongeBob SquarePants | Sidekick | 1,800 | Yes |
| DoodleBob | Back Bling | 400 | Yes |
| Gary Slippies | Kicks | 1,000 | Yes |
| SpongeBob Slippies | Kicks | 1,000 | Yes |
| Jellyfish Jam | Emote | 500 | Yes |
| Lil’ Big Jellyfish | Emote | 500 | Yes |
| Goofy Goober | Guitar | 800 | Yes |
| Bikini Bottom Kit | Drums | 800 | Yes |
| The Golden Spatula | Pickaxe | 500 | Yes |
| Sweet Victory | Jam Track | 500 | Yes |
| Crocs Classic Clog SpongeBob “Patrick” | Kicks | 1,000 | No |
| Crocs Classic Clog SpongeBob “Squidward” | Kicks | 1,000 | No |
| Jelly Parade Boost | Boost | 400 | No |
| Flower Cloud Waves Trail | Trail | 300 | No |
| SpongeBob’s Patty Wagon Bundle | Car Body | 2,000 | No (separate car bundle) |
Owning every SpongeBob-related cosmetic — including the car but excluding any dynamic bundle discounts — comes to 12,500 V-Bucks.
How to buy the SpongeBob sidekick in Fortnite
Purchasing SpongeBob is a standard Item Shop transaction. There is no event quest or tournament requirement layered on top.
Step 1: Launch Fortnite and wait for the lobby to load. From the top navigation bar, open the Item Shop.
Step 2: Scroll through the featured tabs until you reach the SpongeBob SquarePants section. Select the SpongeBob SquarePants sidekick entry.
Step 3: On the item detail screen, confirm the purchase for 1,800 V-Bucks. Once the transaction completes, SpongeBob appears in your Sidekicks collection.
Step 4: Go to your locker, switch to the Sidekicks tab, and equip SpongeBob so he appears alongside whichever skin you use in matches.
You can also access his shop page directly through the official listing at fortnite.com if you prefer browsing outside the game.

How to get the SpongeBob SquarePants bundle
If you know you want more than just SpongeBob himself, the bundle is the more efficient way to spend V-Bucks.
Step 1: From the lobby, open the Item Shop and look for the SpongeBob SquarePants Bundle tile in the SpongeBob section.
Step 2: Select the bundle to preview every included item — sidekick, kicks, back bling, pickaxe, emotes, instruments, and the Sweet Victory jam track.
Step 3: Check the displayed bundle price. If you already own any of the items, the price automatically adjusts down from the 3,000 V-Buck maximum.
Step 4: Confirm the purchase. All items are added to your locker at once, ready to equip in their respective categories.
The same bundle is outlined on the official Item Shop page at fortnite.com, which mirrors what you see inside the game.
How to get the Patty Wagon car body
SpongeBob’s car, the Patty Wagon, sits in its own automotive bundle. It is a 2,000 V-Buck purchase and it does not come with the 3,000 V-Buck character bundle.
The Patty Wagon is a Whiplash replacement car body themed after the patty-shaped vehicle from The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (2004). It’s a two-seater SUV-style body that keeps its food-truck silhouette in-game.
The Patty Wagon bundle includes:
- The Patty Wagon car body for Whiplash
- Two decals that can be applied to other compatible vehicles
- Pickle wheels usable across other vehicle bodies
Step 1: Go to the Item Shop and navigate to the automotive or featured tab where SpongeBob’s Patty Wagon is listed.
Step 2: Select SpongeBob’s Patty Wagon Bundle and review the contents and price.
Step 3: Confirm the 2,000 V-Buck purchase. The Patty Wagon, decals, and wheels unlock in your vehicle customization screens.
The Patty Wagon listing is also viewable on the official shop at fortnite.com.

How long SpongeBob cosmetics stay in the Item Shop
The SpongeBob collaboration is tied to Winterfest 2025 and is not a permanent addition to the rotating shop.
The current run of SpongeBob cosmetics is scheduled to remain available until January 1, 2026, at 7PM ET. After that, the sidekick, bundles, and related items rotate out. There is no confirmed return date, so anyone who wants SpongeBob or the Patty Wagon should treat this as a limited window.
Is the SpongeBob bundle worth it?
Value in Fortnite cosmetics is always subjective, but the pricing structure here is clear:
- If you only want SpongeBob himself, buying the 1,800 V-Buck sidekick alone is cheaper than stepping up to 3,000 V-Bucks.
- If you want three or more major items from the list (for example SpongeBob, DoodleBob, and Sweet Victory), the SpongeBob SquarePants Bundle quickly becomes the lower-cost route.
- The Patty Wagon is entirely separate. Owning the character bundle does not discount the car body, and vice versa.
The bigger trade-off is structural rather than numerical: SpongeBob is locked to a sidekick slot that only you and your squad can see in most modes, not a full avatar that the whole lobby watches glide in from the Battle Bus. If your priority is playing as a recognizable crossover character, other Winterfest collaborations such as Snowy Miku or upcoming anime skins might feel like stronger picks for the same V-Buck range.
But for anyone who grew up with Bikini Bottom and can live with SpongeBob hovering at their shoulder instead of leading the charge, the current Item Shop run is the only way to bring him into Fortnite’s increasingly chaotic crossover universe.
