Oshima Coast is the last region on the map. It doesn’t open until later in the story, and you’ll gain access as Chapter Two begins. Once the border unlocks, ride in and set a waypoint for the nearby activities to anchor your exploration.

Unlock timing and first steps (Oshima Coast)

  • Access: The region becomes available after Chapter Two begins. Until then, the border is locked.
  • Entry landmark: As you cross into Oshima Coast, there’s a reliquary immediately to the east of the entry area (details below). It’s a reliable first stop and a good map anchor.
  • Map intel: A Cartographer operates at Matsumae Residences in Oshima Coast. Buying their regional maps highlights Altars of Reflection and other points of interest you haven’t discovered yet.
Tip: Some shrine/altar markers only appear after you clear nearby enemy bases. When a site reads “Completed” on your map, villagers move in and a shrine will be active there.

Reliquary of Faith (Oshima Coast) — location and solution

You’ll find the Reliquary of Faith just east of the point where you first enter Oshima Coast. The puzzle uses three rotatable wolf statues that influence each other:

  • Goal: Turn all three statues to face the real Mount Yotei. If visibility is poor, set all three to face north.
  • Mechanic: Turning one statue flips the two adjacent statues 180 degrees.
  • Route to solution: First, make the left and right statues match (both toward or both away from the mountain). Then adjust the center so all three end up facing Mount Yotei. If the outer pair flips the wrong way after turning the center, rotate each outer statue twice and return to the center.

Completing the reliquary awards a charm. Solving all five reliquaries across the regions unlocks the related trophy.

“Speaking with the Land” trophy — Oshima Coast special place

This trophy tracks ten unmarked “special places” across Ezo. Interact by bowing or playing your shamisen at a small wooden sign showing a samurai bowing. There’s no map icon and no in‑game list; progress fills on the trophy counter itself.

  • Oshima Coast location: Seijani Temple. Walk straight toward the main building, then veer left to the waterfall. The sign sits at the water’s edge.

Where to buy maps in Oshima Coast

Visit the Cartographer at Matsumae Residences. Their map sets can reveal unvisited Altars of Reflection and other points of interest across the coast, filling in the last gaps as you push for 100% completion.

Once Oshima Coast opens, use the entry‑point reliquary to orient yourself, stop by Matsumae Residences for maps, and then circuit the coast through Yotei Six camps, Altars of Reflection, and bounty targets. Cap your run at Seijani Temple’s waterfall to register the region’s special place toward the “Speaking with the Land” trophy.
