The Reliquary of Resilience sits in Ghost of Yōtei’s Tokachi Range and asks you to rotate four wolf statues so they look toward the “mountain.” The trick is that moving one statue also rotates its neighbor, so order matters. Here’s how to reach it and the two quickest ways to solve it.

Reliquary of Resilience location (Tokachi Range)

Head into the Tokachi Range and follow Serpent’s Pass toward Prospector’s Camp. The reliquary is on the south side of the region near the riverbed; look for a short climbing route up a cliff just beyond the camp. A golden guiding bird may appear when you’re close. Climb to the top and follow the short path to the stone pillar and four surrounding statues.

Players also report the site as being in the southwest portion of Tokachi, just south of the river. If your path markers differ, use the same cues: south/southwest of the river, a visible climb, then a brief walk to the reliquary.

How the puzzle works

Approach the pillar to read the riddle:

“Within the caverns of Mount Yōtei, a lost boy surrendered to a tired sleep.
The wolves stood guard,
Looking toward the mountain.”

The “mountain” here is the central altar/pillar. Your goal is to have all four wolves face inward toward it.

Mechanics to remember:

  • Interacting with a statue turns it 90° (a quarter turn).
  • The adjacent statue anticlockwise from the one you touched turns 180° (a half turn) at the same time.

Two reliable ways to solve the Reliquary of Resilience

Face the puzzle so two statues are closest to you (“front”) and two are furthest (“back”). “Left” and “right” are from this facing.

Method Steps
Loop method (robust) Pick any statue and turn it twice. Move anticlockwise to the next statue and turn it twice. Repeat until you’ve turned all four statues twice. All four will end up facing the center.
Fixed order (from untouched start) Front left once → Back left twice → Front left once → Front right twice → Back right twice.
Alternate quick order (from untouched start) Rotate once each in this sequence: Front right → Front left → Back left → Back right.
Tip: If you lose track of orientations, reload the last checkpoint to reset all statues.

Rewards

Completing the Reliquary of Resilience contributes to the Mountain Reliquary set and typically grants progress on the Charm of Mount Yōtei, which provides a small, broad damage reduction when upgraded. Some players receive Yōtei’s Shelter Hat at this reliquary as well. Reward delivery appears to vary based on how many reliquary puzzles you’ve cleared so far.

Reset, orientation, and common pitfalls

  • If a solution path goes sideways, use “Restart checkpoint” to return the statues to their default positions.
  • Front/back/left/right in the steps above are defined from the position where you face the central altar with two statues nearest to you.
  • Remember the coupling: every press is a 90° turn on the chosen statue and a simultaneous 180° turn on the next statue anticlockwise. The loop method exploits this to neutralize unwanted shifts.

There are five Mountain Reliquary puzzles across the map. Clearing them all builds the charm to its full strength and unlocks additional cosmetics, so it’s worth ticking them off as you move through each region.
