The Winter Farms is a Sensei Tale that plays out across Teshio Ridge in Chapter 1 (The Lone Wolf). The setup is simple: Nine Tails raiders are assaulting five homesteads tied to Hana, and you’re asked to clear each one. Along the way you’ll unlock the Kunai quickfire weapon, earn two charms, and finish with the Kunai Defender trophy once all five farms are safe.

Start The Winter Farms (Hana’s Farm, northwest Teshio Ridge)

Travel to Hana’s Farm in the northwest of Teshio Ridge and examine the body outside the house to trigger the first encounter. A Nine Tails ambush hits immediately. Defeat them, and Hana will step in, hand you the Kunai quickfire weapon, and put you through a brief throwing practice.

After this, four more “Hana’s Farm” locations appear in red across Teshio Ridge. Your job: ride to each, clear every enemy on-site (including hidden waves), and wait for Hana to arrive to acknowledge the save.

Farm 1: Hana’s Farm (Kunai unlocked)

This opening fight takes place where you start the tale. Clear the initial Nine Tails group after investigating the body. Once you complete the Kunai tutorial with Hana, the rest of the farms unlock on your map.

Farm 2: Shipwreck Shoal (northern Teshio Ridge)

Head north to Shipwreck Shoal. Eliminate the camp, but watch the high ground: an archer on a raised platform will harass you throughout. You can either shoot him from range or use the rope and your grappling hook to climb up and remove him.

Farm 3: Southwest of Sentinel Forest (central Teshio Ridge)

Approach the distressed woman to trigger an ambush—Nine Tails burst out of vases around the yard. After you handle the first wave and Hana arrives, circle behind the house. Another group is concealed in the bushes and will spring when you step close. Clearing the area earns the Charm of Hidden Blades.

Farm 4: Teshio River, southwest of Ran’s Workshop (western Teshio Ridge)

This site has two separate hiding spots to flush:

  • Enter the side yard; enemies pop from vases.
  • Move behind the house; another group waits in the green bushes.

Scan the cliffs, too—archers blend into the snow along the ridgelines. Deal with those ranged threats early to avoid chip damage while you mop up the yard. Hana appears once the farm is secure.

Farm 5: Final defense

At the last farm, eliminate the initial group near two settlers, then untie the woman. Waves of reinforcements—three in total—will rush you after Hana shows up. Survive the sequence and clear the stragglers to finish the entire tale.

Beyond the tale itself, you already picked up Kunai during Farm 1 and the Charm of Hidden Blades at Farm 3. Hana may also serve as a Kunai artisan afterward, letting you restock and upgrade the weapon as you progress.
