Golem Heart in The Forge: Drop Method, Stats, and Quest Use

The Golem Heart is one of the rarest items in Roblox game The Forge. It sits at the center of the Raven Cult questline in the Red Cave and doubles as a top-tier forging material, capable of pushing weapon critical stats far beyond most other ores.

Two different systems in the game award a Golem Heart. One ties it to the Ice Golem boss and the Raven Cult quests, the other treats it as a world drop from Golems in the Frostspire Expanse with an extremely low chance. Both refer to the same Divine rarity ore with the same in-game effects.

What Golem Heart is in The Forge

Golem Heart is a Divine rarity ore that appears as a fractured, floating crystal core with a pale, icy glow. Four smaller shards orbit the main crystal, similar to the Prismatic Heart but in a darker blue tone.

On the stats side, Golem Heart provides a 10x forging multiplier, which makes it one of the strongest single components you can slot into a weapon. It also adds powerful passive traits when used in a forge recipe that targets a weapon.

Property Golem Heart value
Item type Ore (Divine rarity)
Drop context Ice Golem boss and Golems in Frostspire Expanse
Base forge multiplier 10x
Sell price 187.5 gold
Applied on Weapons

The in-game flavor text describes the ore as dense, ancient, and “still beating for a reason,” which fits its role as a boss-tier heart item used in a late questline.

How to get Golem Heart from the Ice Golem boss

For most players progressing the Red Cave content, the practical way to obtain a Golem Heart is to fight the Ice Golem boss that caps off the Raven Cult questline. This route also lines up with the requirement to unlock the Dragon Head Pickaxe.

Step 1: Clear the first two Raven Cult quests. These quests send you after two prerequisite items: the Prismatic Heart from the Prismarine Spider and the Yeti Heart from the Yeti sub-boss. Turn both hearts in to the cult NPC to advance.

Step 2: Speak to the Raven Cult NPC again to start the final cult quest. This last quest is the one that explicitly asks for a Golem Heart, pushing you toward the Ice Golem boss encounter.

Step 3: Travel to the Frostspire Expanse and reach the Summit’s Edge area. At the far end, you will find a rune-marked door that serves as the entrance to the Ice Golem boss arena.

Step 4: Prepare a strong loadout before entering. The Ice Golem hits much harder than regular mobs. Using high-tier armor and weapons, crafted from late-game recipes, greatly improves survival and shortens the fight.

Step 5: Enter the rune door to challenge the Ice Golem. Defeat the boss to roll for a Divine loot drop. The Golem Heart is on this drop table with a low chance to appear, so it is normal to need multiple clears before seeing it.

Step 6: Repeat the Ice Golem encounter as needed. If the Golem Heart does not appear on the first clear, you can re-run the fight until it drops. Once it does, the final cult quest can be turned in, and the Dragon Head Pickaxe becomes available to purchase.

Players who only care about unlocking the Dragon Head Pickaxe and finishing the questline can stop here once they secure a single Golem Heart. Anyone interested in forging multiple critical-heavy weapons will likely want several copies, which means more Ice Golem runs or relying on world drops from Frostspire Expanse Golems.

How to get Golem Heart from Frostspire Expanse Golems

Outside of the Raven Cult structure, Golem Heart also appears as an ultra-rare drop from normal Golems in the Frostspire Expanse. This method does not require quest progress, but the odds are dramatically lower.

The drop rate from Golems in this zone sits at 1 in 55,555. That positioning makes it one of the rarest open-world ores in The Forge. It is still useful if you are grinding Frostspire Expanse content anyway, but it is not a reliable path if you need the heart on a specific timeline for quests.

Step 1: Reach the Frostspire Expanse region and locate any area populated with Golems. These enemies are distinct from the Ice Golem boss and respawn on regular timers.

Step 2: Farm Golems repeatedly. Treat any Golem kill as a tiny chance to see a Golem Heart. Because the odds are so low, other loot and experience should be your main goals while you wait for a heart to drop.

Step 3: Keep an eye on your inventory after long sessions. With such a small chance, it is easy to miss the moment it drops if you are not watching your loot log.

For players already running Ice Golem boss attempts, open-world Golem farming is best seen as a background bonus. Most hearts that matter for progression will come from deliberate boss clears.

Golem Heart stats and weapon traits

Golem Heart is notable not just for its rarity but for how much power it adds to forged weapons. When slotted into a weapon recipe, it provides both a high base multiplier and several layered passives.

Golem Heart weapon trait Effect
Critical chance bonus +40% critical attack rate
Critical damage bonus +15% critical attack damage
Slow effect 30% chance to apply a 15% attack and movement speed slow for 3 seconds on hit
Application slot Applies when used on weapons in forging

Some descriptions also highlight an extra chance-based damage effect, such as a percentage chance to deal extra damage on hit, on top of the crit bonuses and slow. In practice, builds that stack crit rate and crit damage around Golem Heart turn even baseline swords into high burst options, especially when you queue attacks into slowed enemies.

Because of the 10x forging multiplier, the ore also pushes the overall power score of the weapon higher than most competing materials. That matters for weapons that gate their effectiveness or additional perks behind total forge score.

Golem Heart and the Raven Cult questline

The Golem Heart sits at the center of the Raven Cult quest chain inside the Red Cave. This storyline is structured around three main “heart” items, each tied to a specific boss or mini-boss.

The sequence works like this:

  • First quest: Acquire the Prismatic Heart by defeating the Prismarine Spider.
  • Second quest: Acquire the Yeti Heart by defeating the Yeti sub-boss.
  • Final quest: Acquire the Golem Heart from the Ice Golem boss at Summit’s Edge.

Turning in the Golem Heart completes the cult questline in the Raven Cave and unlocks the ability to purchase the Dragon Head Pickaxe, a powerful pickaxe that fits naturally into endgame resource grinding. For a story-focused playthrough, this is the main narrative reason to chase the heart.

That same quest completion path is what most players in social clips follow: they defeat the Ice Golem, wait for the heart to drop, immediately finish the quest, then head to the relevant vendor to buy the Dragon Head Pickaxe.

When to use or keep your Golem Heart

Because of how rare the item is, deciding when to consume it in forging matters. The heart has three distinct uses in the current content:

  • Quest progression: Handing it in to finish the Raven Cult chain.
  • Unlocking Dragon Head Pickaxe: Finishing the quest is what opens the pickaxe for purchase.
  • Weapon forging: Using it as a Divine ore with a 10x multiplier and strong crit and slow traits.

The quest completion only requires one copy. Any additional hearts can be dedicated to forging weapons. For players interested in making high-crit swords or similar builds, it is reasonable to save hearts for a weapon you plan to use long term, since replacing that weapon later means spending the same rare material again.

The combination of extra critical chance, critical damage, and an on-hit slow lines up well with fast, multi-hit weapons that stay on targets for extended periods. Slower, heavier weapons still benefit from the crit stats but make slightly less use of the frequent slow procs.

Once you have at least one heart secured for the questline and Dragon Head Pickaxe, the rest comes down to how much time you are willing to spend repeating Ice Golem attempts or farming Frostspire Expanse Golems for additional drops.
