Feeding Sam at the Seed Stall unlocks a second shop tab with seeds that don’t appear in the normal rotation. The process is simple: make a cooked dish, hold it in your hand, and use the Feed prompt when talking to Sam. Each meal grants friendship points; hit the threshold and the extra tab appears.

Prerequisites: get a Cooking Kit and make a meal

You can only feed Sam cooked food, not raw crops. Cooked meals are made using the Cooking Kit decoration. Cooking Kits are earned from achievement sets in the Garden Guide; completing multiple sets awards multiple Kits so you can cook more than one dish at a time.

Step 1: Open your Garden Guide and complete achievement sets to unlock a Cooking Kit reward. This places a portable cooking decoration in your cosmetics inventory.

Step 2: Place the Cooking Kit in your garden from the cosmetics menu. Position it where you can quickly access it during regular farming sessions.

Step 3: Interact with the Cooking Kit and add crops to craft a meal. Use recipes if you want a specific dish or rarity; higher-rarity meals grant more friendship points.

Feed Sam at the Seed Stall

Sam accepts one dish per real‑time day. The Feed option appears only while a cooked meal is actively equipped in your hand.

Step 1: Equip a cooked meal from your hotbar so your character visibly holds it. Raw produce or seeds will not trigger the Feed prompt.

Step 2: Walk to the Seed Stall and interact with Sam. A Feed option appears alongside the usual shop dialogue and a friendship meter shows above him.

Step 3: Hold the interact key to feed him and award points to your friendship level. On PC, the default interact key is E.

Step 4: Wait for the daily cooldown. You can feed Sam once every 24 hours; the cooldown cannot be skipped.

How friendship points work (maximize progress)

Meal rarity determines how many points you earn per daily feed. Using higher‑rarity recipes reduces the number of days needed to unlock the tab.

  • Common — 1 point.
  • Uncommon — 2 points.
  • Rare — 3 points.
  • Legendary — 4 points.
  • Mythical — 5 points.
  • Divine — 6 points.
  • Prismatic — 7 points.
  • Transcendent — 8 points.

Reaching 15 total points raises your friendship to Level 2, which opens the Seed Shop’s second tab. For example, two Transcendent dishes (8 + 8) will pass the threshold in two days; three Legendary dishes (4 + 4 + 4) plus one Uncommon (2) also reach it in four days.

Step 1: Aim for the highest rarity you can reliably cook. This minimizes the number of days needed to reach 15 points.

Step 2: If you’ve unlocked multiple Cooking Kits from different achievement sets, place all of them to cook several meals in parallel and maintain a steady stock of high‑rarity dishes.

Step 3: Plan your week. Map out which meal rarities you’ll feed each day so you don’t miss the 24‑hour window.

What the second tab offers

Once unlocked, Sam’s extra catalogue contains seeds that aren’t in the current rotation and can include rarer options or items previously seen during events. Expect to see crops such as Broccoli, Potato, Brussels Sprout, and occasionally Cocomango. These items are purchased with Garden Coins rather than Sheckles.

Troubleshooting: the Feed option doesn’t appear

Step 1: Confirm you’re holding a cooked meal. If you have a raw crop, seed, or tool equipped, the Feed prompt will not show.

Step 2: Check the cooldown. If you fed Sam within the last 24 hours, you must wait for the timer to expire.

Step 3: Stand directly at the Seed Stall and interact with Sam, not other nearby NPCs. Move closer if the prompt doesn’t show.

Step 4: On PC, verify your interact key. Try pressing and holding E while the meal is equipped.

Step 5: Re‑equip the meal or rejoin the server if the UI fails to display the Feed option. This refresh often restores the prompt.

Feed a cooked meal once per day, prioritize higher‑rarity recipes, and you’ll unlock Sam’s friendship tab quickly. From there, use Garden Coins to pick up seeds that broaden your farm’s output.
