Gilly is one of Silksong’s most quietly important NPCs: a young researcher who blends into the scenery, shares sharp observations about Pharloom’s ecosystems, and later ties into a Grand Hunt wish. If you’re hunting for her in Hunter’s March or trying to track her down again in Act 3, here’s what to expect and how her questline unfolds.

Gilly’s first appearances (Hunter’s March)

  • Ant statue room: In Hunter’s March, look for a side room with a refined dancer statue. A “bush” beside it is actually Gilly’s disguise. Strike the foliage to reveal her and start a short exchange about the statue and the area.
  • Bench area follow-up: After additional progress in the region—including defeating the Savage Beastfly—Gilly relocates to the room with Hunter’s March’s only bench.
  • Audio cue while hidden: When she’s in disguise, she emits subtle shuffling sounds as you approach, a reliable tell that there’s more than a plant in the room.
Tip: The bench room in Hunter’s March is trapped on first approach. Do not sit until you disarm it. There’s a small hidden nook through the left wall with a lever; flip it, then return to heal safely.

Other spots Gilly can show up before Act 3

  • Alternate Hunter’s March room: Early on, she can also appear near a tattered shelter (and ant patrols) if you arrive without a map from The Marrow. If you miss this, you may instead encounter her by the statue, where those enemies shift to that arena.
  • Deep Docks edge: Players can find her near the boundary toward Far Fields, consistent with her interest in studying how life persists across neighboring zones.

Where to find Gilly in Act 3 (Far Fields)

Once Act 3 begins, Gilly moves up into Far Fields. Multiple reports place her in a hidden or high northeastern section of the region, accessible only in Act 3. Reaching that layer requires opening the new upper path and, in practice, having the mobility to get there.

  • Access from Hunter’s March: In Act 3, alternate entrances into Hunter’s March close; you’ll come through The Marrow and then use the new vertical route to bridge into Far Fields.
  • Movement requirement: Expect to use the Act 3 movement upgrade to reach the upper Far Fields space. From those new heights, scan for hidden walls and elevated perches; she tends to sit slightly off the main thoroughfares.

Hidden Hunter (Gilly’s wish) — how it works

In Act 3, Bellhart’s Wishwall adds a Grand Hunt tied to Gilly’s stolen keepsake. Accepting the wish sets you on a trail through the Far Fields uplands, with environmental clues that form a breadcrumb path.

  • Starting point: The trail begins near the Bellshrine between Deep Docks and Far Fields. You’ll find a track on the ground and a series of traps that confirm you’re on the right line.
  • Boss encounter: The tracks funnel into a locked arena—your final “track” is a pitfall into the fight. The Hidden Hunter is Gurr the Outcast, who relocates around the arena and leaves spike hazards as it shifts positions. Treat the fight like a pattern test: dodge deliberately, punish safely, and avoid overcommitting when spikes restrict your footing.
  • What to turn in: After the battle, the Grass Doll appears to the left side of the arena. Turn it in at Bellhart to complete the wish.
Note: Players report different triggers for when this wish appears on the wall. For many, Act 3 progression is enough; others point to specific milestones (e.g., talking to or defeating certain Far Fields bosses, finishing optional races) before the card shows. If it isn’t posted yet, keep pushing main Act 3 objectives and recheck the Wishwall.

Clues from Gilly’s dialogue (and why she matters)

Gilly frames a lot of what you see in Hunter’s March and beyond. She describes her research as a promise made at her father’s bedside and talks about a “hot harmony” that keeps these fields alive while nearby lands decay. She also notices craft details others miss—like the dancer statue’s clawwork—and wonders about the civilization that fashioned it. As you follow her across zones, those observations help you read the environment: who lived here, what changed, and why certain creatures seem to retain more of themselves even under the Haunting.

Quick route notes that help you spot her

  • Dancer statue room: From the vertical wind shaft in Hunter’s March, take the right-hand door roughly halfway up to reach the statue; the “bush” beside it is Gilly’s cover.
  • Bench trap room: From that same shaft, the bench is the left-hand door at mid-height. Disarm the trap via the hidden left wall lever before sitting.
  • Act 3 Far Fields entry: Build your route from The Marrow into Hunter’s March, then up to the new elevated bridge into Far Fields. In the new layer, check high ledges and breakable walls; she often perches just off the path.

What to do if Gilly “disappears”

Gilly doesn’t stay put. If she’s not where you first saw her, cycle her usual stops:

  • Hunter’s March dancer statue room → bench room
  • Deep Docks edge near Far Fields boundary
  • Northeastern Far Fields (Act 3-only upper layer, sometimes gated behind a hidden wall)

If she’s still missing in Act 3, it’s likely she’s already moved to the Far Fields layer and you haven’t opened that route yet. Progress the Act 3 path through Hunter’s March and check again.

Why players seek her out

  • Hidden Hunter wish: A substantial side objective that threads through Far Fields and culminates in a bespoke boss fight and a turn-in item.
  • Lore density: Her lines hint at Pharloom’s ecology and history in ways that reframe familiar rooms.
  • Exploration cues: Her shuffling “disguise tell,” the trapped bench, and the statue room together teach you to test suspicious foliage, walls, and floors—habits that pay dividends later.

Gilly’s thread is easy to miss and rewarding to follow. If you treat Hunter’s March like a layered training ground—listening for disguised NPCs, probing hidden nooks, and noting the architecture she points out—you’ll have all the habits (and access) you need when her wish appears in Act 3.
