Hooked Easter Event on Roblox — Map Events, Egg Scramble, and New Game Modes Explained

Hooked on Roblox has rolled out its Easter Event with a fresh map called Blast Garden, a set of randomized in-match modifiers, a coin-farming Egg Scramble event, and two permanent game modes. If you've jumped into a match and wondered why everyone suddenly became enormous or why eggs keep spawning on the field, here's the full breakdown.

Quick answer: Six random Map Events alter gameplay mid-round (Speed Zone, Short Hooks, Jump Boost, Randomizer, Giant Mode, Mini Mode), Egg Scramble spawns claimable eggs every 30 seconds for bonus coins and health, and Free for All plus Duel Mode are now permanent additions to the game.

All Six Map Events and What They Do

Map Events fire at random intervals during any match. You cannot choose or predict which one will activate — they simply change the rules for every player in the lobby at once. Below is a quick-reference table covering each modifier.

Map EventEffect
Speed ZoneIncreases Movement Speed and Hook Speed for all players
Short HooksReduces Hook range by 25%
Jump BoostGrants higher Jump Speed and a shorter Jump Cooldown
RandomizerAwards a random skill after every kill and resets all cooldowns
Giant ModeIncreases the Hitbox size of every player
Mini ModeShrinks Hitbox size by 25% while granting extra movement speed

Giant Mode and Mini Mode are essentially opposites. Giant Mode makes everyone easier to hit, which tends to speed up eliminations. Mini Mode does the reverse — smaller targets paired with faster movement creates chaotic, harder-to-land engagements. Short Hooks punishes players who rely on long-range grapples, while Speed Zone rewards aggressive, close-quarters play. Randomizer is the wildcard: because it hands you a completely random skill on each kill and wipes your cooldowns, it can swing a round in unexpected directions.

Map Events apply to every player simultaneously. You cannot opt out, so adapting on the fly is essential — especially during Randomizer, where your loadout changes with every elimination.

How Egg Scramble Works

Egg Scramble is a special in-match event layered on top of normal gameplay. Eggs spawn on the map every 30 seconds and stay active for 20 seconds before disappearing. To claim an egg, you need to hit it. Once you do, the egg changes to your team's color (blue), signaling that your team currently controls it.

Your job after claiming the egg is straightforward: guard it and eliminate opponents who try to take it back. When the 20-second window expires, the team holding the egg receives rewards — either coins or health. Because these rewards stack on top of normal elimination earnings, Egg Scramble is one of the most efficient ways to farm coins during a match. Prioritize egg control whenever the event triggers, and treat defending the egg as seriously as you would a normal team fight.

Free for All Mode

Free for All (FFA) works like the standard mode with one critical difference: there are no teams. Every other player in the lobby is an enemy. You earn points for each elimination, and the player with the most points at the end of the match wins. FFA is a strong pick if you find yourself consistently paired with underperforming teammates in the default team mode, since your result depends entirely on your own performance.

FFA is a permanent addition — it will remain in the game after the Easter Event ends.

Duel Mode — 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3

Duel Mode strips the game down to small-team or solo matchups. The core rules stay the same, but your character's position resets after every elimination, preventing spawn-camping and keeping each engagement fair. Three variants are available:

VariantPlayersBest For
1v12Pure skill testing against a single opponent
2v24Small-party competitive play
3v36Coordinated team duels

To access Duel Mode, press the Select Server button from the main lobby and switch to the Duel Mode lobby. From there, you can queue into whichever variant matches your party size. Like FFA, Duel Mode is permanent content.

Blast Garden Map

The Easter Event introduced a new map called Blast Garden. It features a wide, open garden layout — greener and more spacious than previous arenas. The map also includes a bunny monster that functions as an environmental hazard. This creature swings its hand at nearby players and deals damage on contact, so avoid lingering in front of it during fights. Positioning around the bunny monster can be used strategically: bait opponents into its attack range for free damage.

Between the randomized Map Events, Egg Scramble's coin-farming potential, and two permanent competitive modes, the Easter Event is one of Hooked's more substantial updates. FFA and Duel Mode in particular fill a gap for players who want more control over their match outcomes, and both will stick around long after the seasonal content wraps up.
