What mutations do
A mutation is a material variant applied to a card pack that increases the cash output of every card inside it. If a base card earns $20 per second, a Gold-mutated version of that same card earns $60 per second. The multiplier stacks with card level, grade, and other income modifiers, making mutations one of the most direct ways to boost earnings.
Mutations appear on packs as they spawn on the conveyor belt or refresh in the Card Market. When you open a mutated pack, all cards inside carry that mutation's multiplier permanently. This means a single high-tier mutated card can generate more income than dozens of unmodified ones.

Mutation Chance is a stat that controls how often packs spawn with a mutation. The higher your Mutation Chance, the more frequently you'll see Gold, Emerald, Void, Diamond, and Rainbow packs appear.
The most effective way to boost Mutation Chance is upgrading the Upgrade Machine. At maximum level 40, it grants +266.67% Mutation Chance, plus additional bonuses like 44.47% faster hatch time, +10 walk speed, and +4% global luck. This single upgrade path delivers the largest mutation rate increase available.
Crafting Relics also increases Mutation Chance. Unlocking all 14 Relics in the game adds +19.5% Mutation Chance cumulatively. Each Relic requires completing a full card collection and spending material packs, so this is a long-term investment. Achievements provide smaller permanent boosts as well.
Duplicate cards and experience
When you pull a duplicate card with a mutation, the duplicate contributes to leveling the base card while the mutation bonus applies to experience gains.
