How the Marvel Rivals Wedding Wishes Balloon System Works and What You Get

Marvel Rivals Season 6.5 launched on February 13th, 2026, and alongside the new hero Elsa Bloodstone and the Citizenship of Monster Kingdom event pass, it brought a Valentine's Day–themed store event centered on Gambit and Rogue's wedding. The Wedding Wishes for Mr. & Mrs. X event uses a balloon-popping lucky draw mechanic to distribute wedding-themed cosmetics, including two legendary skins. The event runs until March 20th, 2026.

Quick answer: Pop balloons using Units (the game's free currency) to randomly unlock one of eight rewards per pop. Both the Gambit "Mr. X" and Rogue "Mrs. X" legendary skins are bundled in a single balloon. If you hit that balloon, all remaining rewards unlock instantly. Worst case, you spend 3,000 Units to open every balloon and get everything.

Balloon Cost Breakdown

Unlike a traditional event pass or a flat-price store bundle, Wedding Wishes presents eight balloons on screen. Each balloon hides one reward, and you throw a playing card at a balloon to pop it. The cost per attempt escalates with each pop, and the pricing is not a simple linear increase.

AttemptCost (Units)Cumulative Total
1st100100
2nd200300
3rd200500
4th300800
5th3001,100
6th5001,600
7th6002,200
8th8003,000

The key mechanic is that once you pop the balloon containing the Mr. X and Mrs. X legendary costumes, every remaining balloon opens automatically at no additional cost. If you land the skins on your very first pop, you walk away with the entire bundle for just 100 Units. If the skins are in the last balloon, you'll pay the full 3,000 Units but still receive every reward.

Drop Probabilities Are Not Equal

The odds of hitting each reward are not evenly distributed across the eight balloons. The Mr. & Mrs. X costume pair has a 3.08% chance per pop, making it by far the rarest outcome. The Gambit & Rogue Forever MVP animation sits at 8.81%, while each of the remaining items — emotes, sprays, and nameplates — carries a 17.62% chance. Rewards do not repeat, so each pop removes one item from the pool, but the weighted probabilities mean most players will open several balloons before hitting the skins.

Note: In Austria, Belgium, and the Netherlands, local gambling regulations prevent the balloon mechanic from appearing. Players in those countries are instead offered a direct purchase option for the full bundle at 3,000 Units.

All Wedding Wishes Rewards

There are eight distinct rewards spread across the balloons. The two legendary skins and the MVP animation are each paired items that unlock together when their balloon is popped.

Because the skins are bundled in the same balloon, there is no scenario where you receive only one of the two costumes. You either unlock both or neither on a given pop.

Are the Wedding Skins Free?

Technically, yes. Units are Marvel Rivals' earnable in-game currency, not a premium paid currency. You accumulate Units through gameplay, events, and seasonal activities. The Wedding Wishes event does not require any real-money purchase — though 3,000 Units is a significant amount to save up. Players who want to stock up before committing can earn bonus Units by joining the Love On Parade carriage event in Times Square, which awards 100 free Units on your first ride.

How to Decide Whether to Pop

The balloon system has a hard ceiling of 3,000 Units with no possibility of spending more, which distinguishes it from open-ended gacha mechanics where costs can spiral indefinitely. That said, the low 3.08% probability on the costume balloon means most players will end up paying close to the full price. The discount possibility is real but statistically unlikely on early pops.

The practical approach is straightforward: if you'd happily pay 3,000 Units for the full cosmetic bundle as a flat-price store item, the balloon system can only match or beat that price. If 3,000 Units feels too steep for skins you may not use, the chance of getting them cheaply shouldn't change that calculus. The skins cannot currently be purchased individually outside this event, so players who only want one character's costume are locked into the paired bundle regardless.

The Wedding Wishes for Mr. & Mrs. X event closes on March 20th, 2026, at 09:00 UTC. Once it ends, the balloon mechanic and all associated rewards will no longer be available in the store. Whether you pop on day one or wait until the final week, the pricing structure and reward pool remain identical throughout the event window.
