One of the features that makes Google Photos such a great online photo storage solution is that it is extremely easy to share photos and videos with others. Now, this feature has gotten even better, as you can choose a 'Favorite Person' with whom you can quickly share photos when using the app.
The feature not only lets you share photos quickly but lets you share them in original quality. It has been newly added to Google Photos and is now rolling out to users everywhere, though it may take time to become available on your device. Setting a Favorite Person
To set a 'Favorite Person' in Google Photos, you should be running version 6.76 or later of the app. However, not all users running the latest version have access to the feature currently, but if you have it, here is how to use it.
- Open the Google Photos app on your Android device and tap on the 'Library' option at the bottom.
- Then, tap on the 'Utilities' button on the top right.
- Here, you will find the 'Add Favorite' shortcut option. Tapping on it will show you the option 'Select Person', and you can choose the person you want to set as your favorite.
- Select the person by tapping on their picture, and you're done. Now, their picture will be displayed prominently in the 'Send' menu, and their contact icon will have a heart pinned to it.
You can also change your favorite person by going to the Google Photos Settings page and selecting the 'Sharing Favorite' shortcut.
The 'Add Favorite Person' feature is rolling out to Android users right now but is not available on the desktop version and iOS devices currently. It is not known whether Google plans to make it available on that platform or not.
