Bu Jiujie is an AI-enabled NPC located in the Hexi region, specifically within the Jade Gate Pass area. You can find him in Lost Crossing, situated inside a house near a large, broken ship just east of the Karez boundary stone.

Bu Jiujie's defining character trait is severe indecision. When you initiate the AI Chat, he will present a convoluted dilemma, typically obsessing over what to cook for lunch while debating between rice, fish, various vegetables, and cooking methods.
To successfully complete the interaction and max out his affection, you must force him to make a choice. The most effective strategy is to synthesize his scattered thoughts and instruct him to combine all his conflicting options into one cohesive dish.
Step 1: Read his initial dilemma regarding cooking methods and ingredients, then reply by telling him to combine everything together into a single meal.
Step 2: Address his follow-up concerns about seasonings and flavor profiles by instructing him to use a mix of his specific suggestions, such as combining soy sauce and fish sauce.
Step 3: Continue aggregating his final ingredient worries by commanding him to use an exact list of the items he mentioned, such as sugar, vinegar, fish sauce, and ginger.
Once you forcefully summarize the recipe and make the decision for him, he will stop agonizing over the menu. This resolution grants +100 Affection, elevating his relationship status to Revered.
Troubleshooting the AI Chat
Because the AI responses are dynamically generated, the exact dialogue flow can vary even with identical inputs. If the conversation veers off track and does not resolve his indecision, you should reset the interaction entirely.
Click the Refresh icon at the top of the chat box to wipe the slate clean. Trying one focused psychological strategy per attempt is much more effective than abruptly changing your advice midway through an ongoing chat. You can also double-check the in-game hint text, which implies the specific win condition required to satisfy the NPC.
If you accidentally input an aggressive prompt and provoke Bu Jiujie into initiating combat, do not kill him. Instead, back out to the title screen and log back in. He will reset to his default, non-hostile state right where you left him.
