Lu Sheng is one of Where Winds Meet’s AI Chat NPCs, and the fastest way to earn his trust is to solve a very specific, very mundane problem: he wants someone to buy him Yuan Tiantian’s unusual dish, the Honey Pear Ball.

What Lu Sheng wants (and why it matters)
Lu Sheng’s conversation “win condition” is straightforward. He wants to taste the unusual dish made by Yuan Tiantian, and he’s hoping someone will buy it for him. If you steer the AI Chat toward buying the Honey Pear Ball for him, his affection can jump enough to reach Revered.
AI Chat prompts that typically work for Lu Sheng
Step 1: Start the AI Chat and respond in a way that acknowledges he wants the Honey Pear Ball (for example, agreeing that it smells good and that he wants to try it).
Step 2: Commit to buying it for him. Keeping the language simple and direct tends to help the chat stay on track.
Step 3: Roleplay the purchase and giving him the food. A proven approach is explicitly stating you bought two, one for you and one for Lu Sheng.
In successful runs, this sequence can result in a large affection gain (including +100) and can move him to Revered.
When AI Chat goes sideways: three recovery moves
AI Chat can be inconsistent, including cases where the same approach doesn’t resolve the dialogue cleanly. These resets are the practical way to keep momentum without wasting time.
Step 1: If the conversation stalls or drifts, use the Refresh icon at the top of the chat box to reset the dialogue and restart with a clean slate.
Step 2: If the NPC turns hostile or combat starts, exit to the login screen. When you return, the NPC should be back in their pre-chat state.
Step 3: If the NPC seems satisfied but the chat won’t “finish,” re-check the in-chat hint text and steer your next attempt toward the implied outcome (buying him the unusual dish).
Gifts and Revered status
Lu Sheng is categorized as a Jianghu Friend and can be befriended through AI Chat. Jianghu Friends can provide weekly gifts once you reach Revered status with them, though Lu Sheng’s specific gift is not clearly defined.
A common Honey Pear Ball pitfall
Some players report ending up with a Honey Pear Ball as a quest item that stays in inventory after getting Lu Sheng to Revered through chat prompts about buying it. If you run into this, it may be tied to whether your relationship state is fully registered through the AI Chat interaction (not just the affection rank).
